A Raid Lair...
Is nothing more than a 6 man strike. Well done Bungie. lol. Well. Done. Where are all the "completely brand new raid" folks? Srsly, I really want to see the BDF do its' best to justify this debacle.

3 RepliesWell there’s a pretty easy way to justify it The only time we got more than 1 raid a year was at launch of the first DLC “The Dark Below” and the “Crota’s end” raid. Which is still considered to be the worst raid in destiny. So why would anyone expect a new 2-4 hour raid when they’ve only made one a year on average?

Their formula for these lairs were 2 parts heroic strike, 1 part nightfall, 1 part lost sector. Even Benedict-99 is laughing at us with his glitchy servos.

3 RepliesYou do realize that this is better than in D1? In D1 we only got new raids once per year. This way, we get a raid and two mini raids per year.

16 RepliesIf they promised a completely new raid and failed to deliver one, you would be correct. However, Bungie specifically said "a raid activity". Not only that, someone said "A raid?" and they specifically corrected them: "A raid ACTIVITY." I'm no BDF, but I say that if they specifically debunked the rumor of a coming raid, there's nothing to justify.

4 Replies3 months dev time and we got crota in destiny 1, a 20 minute ‘raid’ that had ridiculous levels of bugs and could be 2 manned by semi competent players and 1 manned by great players. In essence a 6 man strike that some people still say is one of their favourite raids purely on length and ease. What did you think you’d get this time around in the same timeframe? Least they’re admitting this isn’t a full raid this time.

I think it is kinda harsh to assume this already, you have yet to even see what it's like. My guess is that it will be much like Crota, which yes was easy, but also was fun and hard at first. Give it a chance.

17 RepliesI think the concept would of been a lot better if the raid weren't the Leviathan, but rather the Almighty. If the original D2 raid was us claiming Cabal secrets from their prized, but disabled weapon that was parked near Mercury it would be very easy to fit this concept in. They could logically back it up using established lore that the raw materials processed from Mercury had latent Vex energy and have mutated park of the ship. Logical variation of a previously established raid, a Raid Lair. It ties the major enemy theme in and still allows a general repurosing without being too lazy. Leviathan doesn't really have a good logical flow to it however. It's just kinda there.

2 RepliesConsidering the small amount of the community that does raids, just doing raid lairs makes more sense than doing full raids for the limited amount of people that do them. And from what I remember, in D1 there was no new raid for the 1st year, so par for the course, I may be remembering that wrong.
