And why?
Personally I've loved the idea that ghosts exist. I am very skeptical, but I believe in the idea of it. My dream in life is to see an apparition. Or to be haunted, or anything paranormal. I've had a few creepy experiences, but nothing that I could tell myself was proof in ghosts.
People tell me since I don't believe in ghosts I will never see one. Bullshit. It's not that I don't believe in them, it's just I need proof personally to actually solidify my thoughts. I want to believe in them more than anything, but nothing has happened after 28 years.

1 ReplyIt is a fantastic thing, believing in ghosts. It stems from the same roots as religion and science. It is an excellent example of human nature, specifically the drive to explain our reality with what information we have available to us. Personally, I have never had any reason to believe in ghosts. And while, like others, I can find such trivial things annoying at times (depending on the people involved), I can't help to respect where it comes from. It isn't explicitly from ignorance, regardless of what others might say. That isn't to imply that many who believe in ghosts aren't ignorant, but that ignorance is not the root cause of the belief. It is additional.

1 ReplyI'm that weird guy who refuses to admit cryptids don't exist

No, I don't believe in ghosts, or at least not observable ones.

8 RepliesDont believe in ghosts but something weird happend once: I walked into school and went to open the door into the building, in the reflection i saw 'something' that i thought was my friend sat on a bench head down. I turned around to say hi but there was no one on any of the benches; i thought must have just looked in the wrong place. I went to go inside but saw the reflection again, i made sure to remember where it was thrn turned around again. There was still nothing there so i quickly went inside and to tutor.

12 RepliesI'd like it, sure. However, I won't believe they exist until I see one or feel its presence myself. One thing though. You have these people who "supposedly" feel the spirits of others around, yeah? Well, Stan Marsh from South Park had a real good theory about that. Why would these spirits hang around just to communicate with a random ass pizza bum? Would you, yourself as a ghost, float around for ages to vaguely communicate with a ghost whisperer or whatever? I know I wouldn't. I would do awesome ghost stuff.

27 RepliesAbsolutely not. That would mean I believe in souls.

Definitely believe in them. Had some experiences, and have considered possible explanations

3 Replies"There's no limit to the amount of stupid shit people will believe." -Adam Savage No, I don't believe in ghosts. I think that the paranormal/supernatural is a testament to how incredibly gullible us humans are as a species. We'll believe anything. And even when something's shown to be categorically and unquestionably wrong or entirely impossible, we'll continue to defend it.

This ones a funny one because i do believe in the supernatural but i don't believe in god.

I knew I guy who believed in ghosts with a passion. He was an absolute loon. He rambled on about ghosts and amityville. He wrote these "scary" stories and he forced me to read them (not forced, but I didn't want to be a douche, unlike most people on bnet). I am so glad he moved. He was also super Christian, and very hypocritical. Not politically, but when it came to religion.
-
4 RepliesNot at all. Not enough proof, if there is any.

My grandfather died in the basement of my old house (I never got to meet him). nothing ever bad happed down there, but I always felt watched down there like when I left something whould grab me and pull me back down. It was creapy but when I moved, the basement at the new place felt safe.
-
2 RepliesI do because of all the shit I've heard about them (amityville I think I spelled it right but google it) but at the same time I've never really seen one for myself so idk
-
Yes because I have seen many tv shows and things in real life to. I also know a lot about them as well.

There is a lot of stuff out there that is difficult to explain. I am a Christian so I do believe in angels and demons, but as far as human spirits I'm unsure. I would like to say that ghosts do not exist, but I haven't seen anything in the Bible straight up saying "ghosts aren't real nerds." There was the time when Jesus walked on water that the disciples were like, "omg a ghost" and Jesus was all, "I'm no ghost nerds" but he wasn't like "ghosts don't exist lol" so yeah. Skeptical.

Edited by Bulked, Apostle of Strengf: 5/29/2017 3:32:23 PMDon't know about ghosts in the sense that humans come back and visit or whatever, but definitely believe there are supernatural entities. I grew up directly next door to my grandparents most of my life. They had a kinda creepy 3 story house built in the 1800s. My dad grew up in that home and told me stories from when he was growing up of hearing things move and people walking around. Silverware moving, footsteps, etc. One night he said he woke up to go to the bathroom downstairs. It was the middle of the night and he was on the toilet when he heard footsteps going up and down the wooden staircase. He freaked out and went back up the stairs and said he heard footsteps behind him while he was going up. He got upstairs and his sister was dead asleep in her bed. Years later after my dad moved next door, my grandma would have sewing circles and Bible studies at her house in the basement craft room. At this point it was kind of common knowledge in our family that there was "something" in the house and had been for decades. One day my grandma and her friends were sewing in the basement and they kept hearing footsteps upstairs as if someone was pacing back and forth. They were the only ones in the house. My grandma just kind of laughed and said "yeah, it's the ghosts here." They thought she was joking so they went upstairs and sure enough no one was there. After they went back down, the footsteps started up again and got really fast and loud and covered a large distance faster than a human could. They all left immediately. The weird stuff continued on after my grandma and grandpa died. My grandpa died 2 days before his birthday and my grandma couldn't handle being alone in the house so she moved to a new house, something my grandpa told her never to do. A month after moving in, she died 2 days before her birthday despite being in perfect health. The people she sold the house to hired someone to come redo carpeting and paint and all that stuff. While he was in the basement painting, he heard someone upstairs rustling around and crying. He went upstairs and found nobody. He went back to work and heard the same violent footsteps others in the house have heard. He got so freaked out he went into the backyard and yelled for my dad. Told my dad everything and my dad just laughed and said it was just the ghost in the house. A couple of interesting things worth noting as well are that for the 60 years my grandma and grandpa lived in that house there was a plum tree in the back yard that flourished every year and produced more plums than could ever be eaten. After my grandma and grandpa died, the tree stopped producing. It sat there year after year completely dead. Finally the new owner cut it down. The same week after cutting it down, two white doves (super rare for our area) appeared and would fly between our back porch and the stump in my grandparent's backyard on a near daily basis for about a month. There was a lot of weird stuff that happened with that house and property.

2 RepliesI was dating a woman whom I did not know was a practicing witch. We dated for about 2 months. I saw some books of witchcraft she had, I asked her if she was into witchcraft but never got a answer. I should of ditched her rather than thinking with my big brain between my legs. Anyways, we were hanging out watching a movie at my apartment and she said she wanted to get a pillow out of my room to rest her head. She was in my room for some time and when she came out she said she had to go. I thought - strange whatever, I am going to date someone nicer. Well, that night I went to bed around 11pm and fell asleep and my bed started to shake. I thought there was a earthquake going on so I kind of got scared jumped out of bed and noticed nothing else was shaking. I went back to bed and my bed started shaking again and now I was freaked, so I turned my bedroom light on and sat on the bed and it started shaking, like someone was moving it. I started to pray and wanted to not fall asleep or go back to my bedroom, out of fear. Then I said, bullshit this is my apartment and I am sleeping in my room. I went back to my room, shut the door turned the lights out and felt something when I started to falls asleep grabbing my feet but I had some light coming in my room from outside and saw three demon creature like faces by my feet looking over the bed rail. I started to pray and rebuking them in Jesus name and everything just stopped - completely. I said I am not leaving my room and I am going to go to sleep and you will not be in this room anymore tonight. I fell asleep and had no more problems that night. The next morning, I started to inspect my bed for any kind of explanations and as I looked under my bed that bitch put a satanic pentagram under my bed. I went to her house to talk to her and tell her to stay away since I was suppose to pick her for a date that next night. I got there early and heard her screaming her name to wake up. I thought she was being attacked or something and pounded on her door and she finally answered. I said - are you alright, do I need to call the police and she said she was by herself and everything was fine. Her living room was pitch black but with candles on. I said - I'll be right back and got in my car and tore the hell out of there. Never got a call back from her and no more problems in my apartment. Don't wish for afterlife spirits, as they can cause attachments and screw your life up. Life is already hard, don't add something you cannot see to cause problems in your life.

1 ReplyWhen I was 10ish years old my first dog died of cancer. We got a new dog a week or two later but before that, I woke up one night to see a shadow of a dog walking down the set of stairs near my room.
