Like and bump this post with an opinion on why removing special ammo was a wrong step toward weapon balancing. I myself would most certainly like to see special ammo back after death in the crucible.

Signed this shit is ridiculous

Just make it so you can't use icebreaker in PvP. Boom. Balanced.

17 RepliesNo. Special weapons are at a good place right now. It would be better if they would lock out Ice Breaker and the Invective out of PvP though.
-
All you see are icebreakers. Some people even use the year 1 version

1 ReplyNo, no one wants shotguns killing you cross map again

1 Replybump. It's hard to go have fun sniping in crucible now that special has been nerfed. Make it like sidearms where they only lose some of the special ammo. I know i can just use no land or ice breaker but I shouldn't be forced to use only 2 guns as a viable option especially since no land just got nerfed.
-
Signed. Been saying from day 1 it was a stupid change.

2 RepliesRegular crucible is fine but Trials is -blam!-ing broken. You're at such a disadvantage if you're not using sidearm/ nlb/ IB.

19 RepliesI'd be nice to actually be able to use my thesan without having to look for a box after every death. It makes the quartermaster bounties really annoying.
-
8 RepliesThe special ammo nerf doesn't accomplish what it was intended to accomplish. Therefore, it shouldn't still be there. Yes, primary kills may be up, but people still camp with snipers like the icebreaker or NLB, and people still rush with Uni's. Although annoying at times, it was still much more fun when we could use any special weapon we wanted.
-
Bump, but it probably won't happen.

Edited by TotalDramaGamer: 4/18/2017 3:24:54 PMOr at least go all or nothing... seriously, ONLY sidearms regening ammo on death... who came up with that landslide of a balancing act?

I would prefer that they changed special for 3v3. The ammo spawns enough for anyone to get special in 6v6

14 RepliesSpecial ammo changes were a good thing. Forces ppl to rely more on their primaries. Asking for changes at this point is pretty useless considering D2 is right around the corner.
-
Nothing is going to change with this (unfortunately). I think that moving away from "specials as primaries" is good, but the fix that was implemented was way over the top and at least from my perspective seems to be a lazy copout on Bungie's part. Rather than take the time and effort necessary to create a more comprehensive fix for the issue they simply fire a nuke at it. This approach has been the single biggest problem in "balancing" the (Crucible) game since the very beginning. At this point in Destiny's life cycle I find it highly unlikely that anything outside of an actual game breaking balance issue will cause any balancing development to take place. This is a huge bummer of course since we will be stuck with the Crucible in it's current, far less than optimal, state. I will continue to play it of course, since I do still enjoy it. But now literally every special weapon that I have other than Icebreaker and a sidearm will sit in the vault and collect dust for the next 5 months. Not exactly that high note I would have preferred to go out on I guess.

Yes pls.

Yea it's pretty dumb. I only run with icebreaker and sidearms just so I don't have run around looking for special. I may not even get 2 or 3 kills with those, but it's more of the fact that I don't constantly feel I need to look for a green box instead of shooting things. Yea it "kind of" promotes primary, but it was unnecessary. Just my opinion.

Edited by Mg Snow: 4/18/2017 5:02:03 PMInb4 people say that everyone upvoting has no primary gunskill despite the fact I have over 30000 handcannon kill and its my most killing weapon.

Special weapons aren't as fun to use anymore. I agreed with the rest of the changes they made to shotguns, but not the special ammo.
