Unfortunately, with the nature of game hosting in destiny PvP another person's bad connection can in rare situations cause a disconnection for you.

That can be annoying, but I suppose that can make sense if Bungie's system isn't strong enough and can let others I'm not on a fireteam with disrupt me.

It all comes down to peer to peer hosting. There is no server that a PvP match is taking place on. It is bounced between the consoles of the members of the match. While this is much less expensive, and a wonderful way to run PvE, it can lead to some wonky things in PvP. I'm sure destiny 2 will see dedicated servers since bungie seems concerned with competitive PvP now.

Or for the Rise of Iron expansion, coming so soon, they will have addressed it.
Or for the Rise of Iron expansion, coming so soon, they will have addressed it.
I doubt it. I hope for dedicated servers, but that would require a complete rewrite and replacement of the netcode for the game. I'm hoping for Destiny 2, but I don't see a world where they can add dedicated servers for us in Destiny 1.
