So there's no point in doing level 35 Skolas
I thought people did it for the elder cipher, but as it turns out it drops from level 34.
Sooooooooo what's the point of 35 Skolas?

32 is for one of the later parts of the bounty.
Edit: as per bungies update Skolas is gonna get a little easier, but they are also removing burns from his encounter.
This will make it even worse Imo, as thus doesn't exclude modifiers such as lights witch or grounded.
Also this might be the last time we get to spray him with gjallarhorns for the easy win.

There's no point.. The primary weapons aren't good, easily trumped by VoG primary weapons. Exotics are kinda nice, but easily trumped by day 1 exotics. Already have plenty of EL.

1 ReplyYou get the chance of dropping primary weapons with elemental damage from on beating skolas. The latest craze is farming skolas for elder cyphers and primaries because they drop when skolas does then the team wipes to the mines and rotates through their characters the rinse and repeat.

3 RepliesSame can be said about the raids. I have all weapons and armor from VoG and crota but still run them. Why? Because it's fun. Skolas level 35 is fun. That's why I'll run PoE level 35. Plus elemental primaries drop from skolas.

Well you have a *much* higher chance of getting the cipher from Skolas.

2 RepliesUnless they make it so the chest drops 2 Etheric Light instead of 1, there's really no other reason to even attempt Skolas other than for those extremely hard to get elemental primaries or just for the challenge itself. I've only ever beat Skolas once, and that was in the first week and only for the emblem, shader and ship. It's just so tedious that I can't even enjoy the difficulty challenge of the Skolas round.

Also I agree with the VOG crota still doing it and it's fun and guess what....all the gear and weapons kick the shot out of POE weapons....even the skolas primary elemtals suck balls....one less perk than every gun on the game!!! What were they thinking?!?

I don't think it's going to be easier, just different. No killing him in 30 seconds but u won't die as quick. But yeah, the rewards aren't all that great to me either. U can get the judgements chance and get another crappy gun that has no use. If the primaries dropped every time, then maybe. But I think do it once to get ship and shader

It might have a higher elder cipher drop rate. I have done 34 five times and 35 one time and I got the elder cipher from skolas. Plus the ship, shader, and emblem are pretty cool. (I killed skoals, but I didn't dismantle mines in time so I couldn't get those. I just got the cipher and the grimore card.)

Doing one more this week before the burn changes and then i am done. Btw ghorn will still be the main gun to kill him even without burn, it does around 3x more damage then any other rocket launcher and then a lot of snipers.
