1 Replyterramantis is a great story teller. His Dark Souls Lore videos are a work of art.
-
And it shows there are jobs on there story development team and he still doesn't work for them? they give him this much appreciation and not a paycheck? That looked like a pretty good portfolio addition to his resume. maybe just maybe they put 2 and 2 together and and start giving us more story like this to make the pve areas more compelling

2 RepliesSooooo basically your fans write your story for you? Lazy.

1 ReplyDo sir wallen he has great lore videos

10 RepliesUnfortunately, I have to pay extra money for the complete history and content that was already in the game. And that's a very dirty trick by the bastards that sell this product. I do not bother to know more about the history, lore and other bullshit, because I never will buy these dirty DLCs, just I'll play the game until I find one interested in buying it, and I probably will turn away forever from this dirty trash , which has become the industry which I loved.

4 RepliesLore? Are you -blam!-ing joking me? The only lore anyone get is the dialogue from the speaker, and even he said "I could tell you."
-
Honestly i don't believe the lore problem was all bungie's fault, some people forget Activision also worked on the game, who is Mr.DlC in a lot of ways
-
6 RepliesDoes anyone else think these videos are just a futile attempt by Bungie to keep their sinking ship afloat a while longer?

6 RepliesWhat DeeJ is making me understand by this post is that, when a writer of your own goes away because you changed the rules, it is better to find a YouTube victim who would make some amateur videos about this game lacking story where Bungie doesn't have to pay a single dime but just advertise him to the kids who would like those videos. But there is one problem, despite the depth of his videos about Crota and the Hive, it loses interest once you notice Moon's gravity doesn't make sense to begin with, and that was never explained. What I'm saying Bungie is, don't use these internet kids to cut costs because let me tell you that the money we paid for the dlc and the poor exotic weapons and wasn't worth anything. When you get the crux and you end up with a shitty weapon, that's not funny either. Or when you get the new sparrow from Crota and you realise it is the exact same as the VOG tainted in black...now that is lazy and dissapointing. Now you are letting someone else do your job. Great job Bungie, you get money by doing almost nothing, best strategy ever.

6 RepliesPointless question... I've noticed that a lot of characters in destiny have very original names and some are quite creative , Has anyone tried to come up with a name for there guardian that fits the games " identity " so to say , Just for fun because it's not an option in the game , And if so what did you name them I had a geek moment and named mine Dravoid

24 RepliesEdited by Jeb_Bush: 2/20/2015 10:06:47 AMThis is my first post on a Destiny related article. It seems that lore is becoming an increasing hot topic since the flop of The Dark Below. I would like to convey my constructive criticism without using the words "fix your game," "kill yourselves," or "DeeJ." I will open by saying I love this game and have since gotten far more entertainment out of it than the $100 I have invested for it. It does not come without concerns, though, and Bungie has always tried to be an advocate of its own community. Bungie's storylines have a typical trend that follows an aura of mystery. In their wildly successful Halo title, there is a huge interest in the empty mystery behind the disappearance of the forerunners. Little by little we learned more about them, but ultimately were left in the wake of an entire civilization's culture to never learn from. This was compelling and made the player want to know and explore all areas of that world. Destiny succeeds in this endeavor with the Ishtar Collective of Venus and the buried civilization on Mars. I want to know more about them and anticipate peeking back the folds of the next page. Destiny fails in this aspect, however, with the main story. It presses too hard for mysterious back story and subtlety to where it cuts out our interest and learning with a slap to the face. "I could tell you of the great battle..." "I don't even have time to explain why I don't have time to explain." These lines don't enforce intrigue into what's beyond them. They feel more like they're saying "I don't know what's going on, so I'll dance around the subject and move on." The few cutscenes we have are our only source of in depth story telling and they tell us as little as the narratives do. They don't progress our story in a new way. They only tell us where to go next. They don't explain any history of our enemies, they tell us that we need to go kill them. Above all, no connections are made between the characters. The only exception being the Queen's brother being an emo twawtsicle. The characters are the most important aspect and they're acting like filler. We need to see development in our allies and opponents. Let's move onto our beloved Dinklebot. Our trusted companion is our least compelling ally. How such a phenomenal actor managed to overturn this role is beyond me. Regardless of whether or not Ghost was supposed to have some or no emotion in his voice, he doesn't narrate to an interest of the story. His paragraph narrations are fruitlessly told to the wind like his one liner jokes. Everything he says, he practically avoids becoming your companion. It happens in more of a sense that he has no interest to include you. Your only connection to him is when you call him "little light." His narrations are exclusive of you, too. Simple iterations like that from Eye of a Gatelord represent this. "'Protect the realms the Vex keep locked out of time.' Time? That can't be right." While Dinklederp usually does include terms like "we," and "our," it is rarely seen in the presence of action and more in the useless mission briefings. I would recommend something along the lines of "... Time? Does that seem right to you?" A small difference, but an engaging one. Does Destiny have a lackluster story? Yes. For now. Until something changes, it will. Does this story have a lot of potential? Also yes. But the community's opinion stands firm that the entire storyboard needs to be displayed on a more captivating front. The briefings and two cutscenes will never be able to present the captivating gravity of Bungie's previous games unless something changes. Bungie/Activision are aware of this and I can only assume they will find some method of change. If not they will find out eventually. I believe this game still holds promise, but there now needs to be 3 and a half stories pushed into 3 more games and dlc. Sorry for the long read. If I have missed anything or have a load of unsensible words that I missed, I apologize for my phone's autocorrect.

28 RepliesHey Bungie, How about you add a strike playlist that adds nightfall modifiers. I'm not asking for a change to the current loot drops for strikes, I just think it would be fun to start a strike and have different modifiers active. In my opinion it would add some much needed variety to the strikes. Thanks for listening!

4 RepliesThis sounds like a great story...that Bungie was supposed to tell us.

2 Replies"rich lore" really Terra? How you go about your creative process? Well let's see here you basically rip off everything that Vaati does and run with it except now you're making Destiny videos. Don't get me wrong I'm a subscriber because you sometimes cover stuff Vaati doesn't and I don't doubt that you work hard on your videos but you pretty much stole all you're schtick and even the way you narrate your videos from him.
