Only if it is a friend of my friend in the game with me. I immediately boot that person and make sure it's set to invite only. I've lost an online friend because of it, but it's ok. I had known him for a week only lol. So point being, if I don't know you and it's my fault I forgot to change the setting, I'll boot!!
Edit : I guess no one can read. If a friend OF A FRIEND joins (meaning I more than likely don't even know the guy) than they get booted. I put the caps on :)
Edit : you guys can't even read, apparently some of you guys think I'm talking about kicking someone in the middle of a roc strike or that it's unfortunate they got qued up with me. I can't kick people from roc strikes and there is no matchmaking in a nightfall.
Edit : people still can't read or understand. also, there is a difference between "helping" and "carrying"
Edit : not sure why people are upset with how i play my game lol. it's my destiny disc. not yours. you have your own. sheesh people, getting a bit salty around here.

I can see it both ways. Most people who join ask when they get in, "is it cool if I join?" or something similar. You say no, and they leave. If they don't, then you kick them. If they don't say anything, you say something about not wanting them to join, and if they don't take the hint and leave then you kick them. I'm sure sure people are just joining someone they joined before with no issues. Or are hoping to catch you at the start of the activity. Doesn't make them bad people or lazy. I would ask them to leave before straight kick, but I don't like handing stuff to people if they didn't work for it.

Nice one bro, keeping on booting em, i hate people who ride off my progress.

10 RepliesYou stress "friend of a friend" like it changes anything; it doesn't. It's still a dick move. All it does is put your "actual" friend in a shitty position, and simply because you can't be bothered to manage your settings in a manner that suits your crap attitude. Friends of friends aren't good enough? That's how new friends are made, it's how opportunities for mutually beneficial co-op are expanded, it's how some decent raid teams get built. Jackass.

Edited by sunlicker: 2/14/2017 1:43:01 AMI love helping my fellow guardians <3
-
you don't need to hate them because they don't know that you are almost done they only want to help you or do the night fall with you.
-
i would be happy if someone whould have joined my nightfall just so i dont get kicked to the orbit if i do a small mistake... what a crappy attitude, srsly xD
-
15 RepliesAnyone from my friends list who kicks me when there was an empty spot is removed from my friends list immediately. No big deal. They don't want to play the game together then so be it.
-
I'll echo an earlier response. Chances are they've seen a 'friend' who is doing NF without a full team and has probably thought they could help out (they might have already done it which means no reward). No way of telling how far into the NF you are when they join and it's always a bummer when you die and get thrown back to orbit so it's nice to have someone to revive you (assuming you do ever get killed!).
-
2 RepliesI hope you get cancer.
-
If only we could see how far along you were in any activity, then this might make sense. I join lots of my friends list for all sorts of activities because I've played with them before and want to help. I can't help it if I come in at the end. Give and take man. Karma a a bitch, screw her over and your in trouble. Hopefully you try to kick someone riiiiiight at the end, die and must start all over.

1 Replyi just wait till the boss is almost dead then i kick them
-
2 RepliesIf anyone sees me doing a nightfall and weekly feel free to join. I don't care if I have the boss at 1%. The only time I may boot you is if I was waiting for a friend to join.
-
Yep and mostly the people I meet in destiny lfg. At least my friends send me a message asking if they can join.
-
Its fine that you dont care and you have the right to put your group to invite only......however this is still lame. Really who cares if they get in at the last minute. I just laugh and tell them they lucked out and move on. Its not something to get upset about. They got a free ride yea them. I have gotten a free ride on occasion as well.
-
Maybe they just wanted to help. It's not like they know exactly how far you had gotten before joining.

Edited by o0DELTA FORCE0o: 1/21/2015 6:23:41 PMLol little kids are funny. Stop your whining go tell your mommy about it she is the only one who cares that her little special angel felt slighted.

Edited by Razor Ramon: 1/21/2015 6:14:02 PMSorry but it doesn't tell you how far along you are.
-
3 RepliesWhy though? If he is actually helping finish it, what do you lose?
-
1 ReplyEdited by Arkiverge: 1/21/2015 4:59:50 PMYou are completely unaffected by this person joining. At the very worst the strike ends when it would have anyway. At best it ends sooner or even possibly they save you from going to orbit. Stop being a toolbag just because someone got a great drop when they came into your Nightfall late one time. It makes you look petty, immature, and an embarrassment to anyone that is associated with you in-game.
-
I'll shoot a msg to them. To see if they need help no response I start my own. Most times I end up with an invite to join them. Can't always get to your messages when your getting melee'd to death apparently
-
3 RepliesAlso, how many of u continue to run nf or weekly after u have completed them just to help others out? I will run any of them if asked to help out when I can
-
1 ReplyIf I solo and none of my friends are in I'll post on lfg and let people join. It doesn't hurt me any.
-
1 ReplyHey it's cool being selfish man. Nobody deserves to have nice things, only you right? If I'm ever playing the Nightfall, my friends are free to join. I could care less what stage I'm at. It doesn't change the outcome for me.
-
make you party private and quite bitching!
-
YEAH YOURE A TOOL AND NO ONE CARES
-
I hate it when people demand we wait for them to switch to a lesser character to finish off the strike. You can leave, but I'm not saving your spot, I'm not waiting.
