Only if it is a friend of my friend in the game with me. I immediately boot that person and make sure it's set to invite only. I've lost an online friend because of it, but it's ok. I had known him for a week only lol. So point being, if I don't know you and it's my fault I forgot to change the setting, I'll boot!!
Edit : I guess no one can read. If a friend OF A FRIEND joins (meaning I more than likely don't even know the guy) than they get booted. I put the caps on :)
Edit : you guys can't even read, apparently some of you guys think I'm talking about kicking someone in the middle of a roc strike or that it's unfortunate they got qued up with me. I can't kick people from roc strikes and there is no matchmaking in a nightfall.
Edit : people still can't read or understand. also, there is a difference between "helping" and "carrying"
Edit : not sure why people are upset with how i play my game lol. it's my destiny disc. not yours. you have your own. sheesh people, getting a bit salty around here.

This is how i get rid of jerks like you. We join you so we don't have find more noobs on the apps. We have no idea how far into the strike you are. I never kick anyone out period

It's almost like they know it's almost done lol

2 RepliesNo worries OP. Your nightfall leader. It's your choice. Just be aware that if someone is joining to help you and finish it you aren't doing yourself any favors by booting them. Strangers today, friend tomorrow.
-
That's why from the beginning you put invite only
-
It doesn't really matter, if my friends join its probably because they couldn't find people to do it with and I'm always happy to help them, besides nightfalls really aren't that hard.
-
What if the person joins and does not know it is the end of it? I have joined my friends that were in a group with people I didn't know at the end. It's not such a big deal or anything bad, I'm pretty sure you have done it your self, all because you didn't know how far into it they were
-
Then put your shit on closed or private -blam!- does everyone bitch on these forums. Pms?

I got invited to a nightfall once. I joined afyer accepting the invite, took 2 steps, heard Sepiks Prime die, & got a Monte carlo. I was like "thanks guys, you're the best!" If I'm ever soloing a nightfall I always check my friends lists for people that still need to do it once I'm toward the end. Especially my lower level friends that have trouble with it. If I can have a friend join right before the boss dies and help them get the XP boost and a possibly even a good drop I think that's F*****g awesome.

1 ReplyI encourage it. Nothing like being a man short and team wiping due to some mistake someone made right before you win the Nightfall. Besides, if someone is joining you, 9 times out of 10 they are either your friend or the friend of a friend. Booting them is just being a douchenozzle.

I joined my friend at phogoth when I asked if I can join. I didn't know they were at phogoth. Anyway.... I did the weekly and killed phogoth then my friend gets my inv. I meant for him to join at end.
-
1 Replywho cares? get over yourself already
-
True, like they don't do anything and get rewards.
-
Invite only. It is rude as hell but those settings are there for a reason. I have been screwed over like this several times by being froze at the boss then booted over someone joining so I always set it now.
-
I may be the only one who agrees with you. I hate it but I don't boot them. They join thinking they'll help but it happens to be right at the end. It adds salt to the would when they get a good drop and I don't but it's my fault for never putting in that alter for RNGesus in my basement like I should have done.

I kicked em stop shooting boss
-
Its not like they know your at the end

2 RepliesPretty dickish if ya ask me
-
I dont know you but i dont like you.

No this is PATRICK!!!!

1 ReplyMy tuesdays go like so, -I skim my friends list to see if anyone is doing Nightfall. -If I find one, I join. -If they kick me, I delete them. -If I don't find one, I start one by myself. I leave my party open for anyone to join no matter how far I've gotten, I welcome it. Them being there or not isn't going to change the outcome of my reward. Those are just the type of friends I want. If you feel differently, set your settings to invite only? Why is that so hard?
-
I get where you're coming from. I was doing the weekly with another guy and we got Phogoth within a sliver of dying and the message pops-up, So and so has joined. Sorry, but that doesn't cut it. Since I was Fire Team Leader the other guy asked me to boot the late comer, which I did.
-
I've had people carry me for sure. So far everyone has been extremely nice about it. I ask them if it's ok as soon as I enter the game. No one has said no. I thank them profusely when it's over. I also pay it forward when I use my higher level Hunter and Warlock.

3 RepliesGrow up.

How can someone join your NF last minute if you don't invite them yourself, or if they aren't already on your friends list? It's not like random people can join you out of the blue...

Make your fireteam private. It's not hard ffs.
