Archon Priest "cheese" spot gone
You can no longer walk under the platform during the fight with the Archon priest (just tried it myself to be sure).
Thoughts?

Damn I liked that spot. It wasn't foolproof but it was better than anywhere else. High Servitors and a few other enemies could still hit you under there and there was a real chance of death from accidentally walking of the back

People can't be that bad to just hide under a platform in order to beat a boss. When I see people excel only in hiding, I wonder "what purpose does it serve to play the game, then?"

5 RepliesI hide at the entrance. I just keep jumping down and shooting at him untill he's dead. I have to be careful with the ads though and he teleports right next to you. If you don't move back to the entrance fast he kills you.

There is actually a better spot. Its literally right next to it. You have a better point of view of him too! King Gothalion found it during his stream. So much for blocking it Bungie!

Its still there. Jump on top of tge platform you normally hide under, go to the back left, jump off then double jump into the bars on the bottom. You will be back under the platform. Theres a youtube video on it.

I only used it when my fire team members couldn't pull their weight. I guess now they'll have to.

3 RepliesIt absolutely was a cheese spot. You could die, but only if you stood in the wrong spot. It was easier to do solo. If you got underneath, and from the entrance, went to the back right corner, the arkon priest would position himself so you could only see his head. From there the snipers and drop ship couldn't touch you. Only thing that could hit you was the occasional pellet from his shotgun. But if you were smart enough to notice you were taking damage, you just hit crouch. The boss then would take himself out of position and you could shoot him again when he came back I used it. Shouldn't have been there tho. I expect the area under the ramp on the cerebus vae strike will get fixed as well

1 ReplyIt's funny I was running the weekly solo last night, Aksor and I were settling our differences and I was holding out fine. Until a skiff came in and dropped two reaver captains with a squad, and there was another captain or two up top in the cave suddenly too. Needless to say, ran straight under the platform and busted out ice breaker. The next day it's fixed lol. The first time I use it they fix it, I'm not worried about it though. It's certainly an exploit, any place where you can shoot a boss and not worry about getting hit is exploitation. In my opinion..

Cheese spot aside, the update seems to have buffed the enemies if you go in with less than a full fire team - I solo'd the same weekly on level 26 with my meagre hunter a few days ago and yet two of us struggled just now on 22. Captains near invincible with their dodging and recharging, and most enemies taking us down with one melee. The Arkon priest was like Chuck Norris.

Why the -blam!- would anyone need to cheese Archon? Even if it's the weekly with light switch... This spot needs to be completely blocked off. It's so much faster if you do it the normal way

Oh no I guess people will have to hide in the entrance, or under the rock, or on top of the tarp, or stun lock him to death with 3 snipers as he spawns, or ya know.... just kill him.

3 RepliesSo glad it's gone. Half the time I'd have a teammate or two hiding under there and hardly helping. Meanwhile I'm ploughing through the trash mobs and thinking, "Guys........ this is a tiger strike. We're all at least 27. What the eff are you doing?"

2 RepliesApparently using cover is an exploit these days. If enemies didn't have ridiculous homing bullets that hit you no matter how much you dodge maybe we wouldn't use these spots.
