That's fine with me, it will let the respectable squeakers who's parents actually have rules play, they should counteract the squeakers playing M games quite nicely. A squeaker is a squeaker, but if they play the game without screaming their limited swear vocabulary at every death, then they are alright in my book.

52 RepliesGreat, more squeakers.

1 ReplyEdited by Verdant: 6/27/2014 7:29:04 AMAnyone who sees this as a negative isn't mature enough for an "M" rating if you ask me. Also the actual annoying kids who you are all dreading will probably also be turned off by the rating. EDIT: why are people surprised? bungie said they were aiming for that rating earlier in the year, does no one remember this?

2 RepliesIt should be M

1 ReplySo there is no gambling which sucks

1 ReplyI knew it. I kept saying over and over, there was nothing in the gameplay videos that we have seen so far to warrant an M rating. No gore, minimal if any blood, no language (as of yet), and no extreme violence. And here it is, its rated T. The proof is in the pudding. If it was going to be M, you would have known a long time ago. And the alpha proved you don't have to have an M rating to have a fun game, and when the game comes out I'll bet you my PS4 it will tell an amazing story without graphic content found in an M rated game either.

1 ReplyI don't understand why some people make a big fuss about this it doesn't really matter your gonna get like 10 year olds playing M games, the way I see it, it's just more fun because more people can play it
-
7 RepliesHonestly I didn't see why halo was rated m to begin with.
-
hopefully you 12 year olds still can't play it
-
1 Replywhat is polygons source to that info how did they confirm it? they dont provide any of that?

1 Reply"Money"

1 ReplyDamn; that sucks. It's rated T, but surely, I will give squeakers and stupid children an M experience.
-
7 RepliesWhy does everyone think T means E. Teens are much different then annoying 6 year olds.
-
2 RepliesI'm not sure what to think of this. Happier Bungie's creation will be available to more people, or sad whiny 3 year olds will be on my team.

1 ReplyRatings are irrelevant when parenting is generally lacking

3 RepliesWhy are people shocked?! Are people really this slow nowadays ?

4 RepliesIts cause there is no blood and I havent heard swearing. they all talk really proper. It makes the player feel like a knight in the olden days, just its all really futuristic science fictiony. The enemys evaporate, which is a nice spin of from the blood spatters and blood explosions from borderlands2 and other games. But the evaporation colors are different depending on your super/melee/gun. Headshots explode into bright shiny trails that flow upwards. It reminds me of the grunt birthday party skull in halo.

1 ReplyIm 15 and i would have played it anyway.

1 ReplyI'm glad this received a Teen rating only because I want as much people to buy this game to make it the best selling game of all time!

4 RepliesYou have to wonder how credible this opinion piece is when he ends it saying he looks forward to playing co-op with his son Halo style.

2 RepliesThat's pretty cool. Bungie's Activision contract also said if it got a T rating, then they got a huge bonus. So I'm sure they are all really happy about that. I will disagree with the title of the article, though. It says giving Halo an M title never made sense? The sole reason Halo was given an M rated title was because of the Flood. The story goes that the ESRB was playing and saying Halo: CE was easily rated T, and then the plot twist of the Flood came. Instant M. The Flood was the sole thing keeping it an M game. I can easily see this carrying into Halo 2 which was also scary. Halo 3, ODST, and Reach? Maybe not as much (The Flood were less scary in H3 it seemed). And not Halo 4. But I dunno- just to say it never made since kinda irks me.

Very interesting and well written article. it makes a good point that, as parents, we are responsible to monitor content our children are in-taking and to not just go by the flawed rating system. Should be a no brainer, but unfortunately it isn't. And for those of you worried about squeakers, I'd be willing to bet that we wont notice any more of them than normal, but now we won't have a reason they shouldn't be playing the game (other than the annoyance factor).

4 RepliesSure it's not T for tomato?
-
1 ReplyWhy are there so many people surprised? They said they where going for a "T" rating early on.
