Honestly Halo 4 has to be one if my favorite halos. I'm pretty sure if Bungie had made Halo 4 there would be no problem. Pls no hate guys.

It wasn't even a good non-Halo game.
-
Halo 2 was much better than this piece of blam of a game
-
Can we just say it was an ok game, not as good as the previous, but still ok if not in direct comparison. It had features missing and some added. Now can we just get over it already?
-
Because people want it to be by Bungie. It isn't and won't feel like it because its 343 not Bungie.
-
Being a true Halo fan, played all the games over 100,000 hours, read all the books, I just didn't like it. You know that feeling in halo whenever you melee someone and it just feels sooooo good, or exploding an elites shield etc. well Halo 4 doesn't really deliver that, it is just straight forward. And there was alot of humor in bungies games, there was almost open world (in halo 1,2) and well 343i just didn't deliver any of that. Hopefully Halo 5 will be better.

11 RepliesEdited by Zezima: 6/30/2013 5:53:09 PMThe online experience isn't very good. Besides Infinity Slayer, the gameplay is actually pretty good with the new 4sk BR. The real deal-breaker for me though is that Frankie is a noob and went out of his way to make a non-skillful ranking system. It's just another progression system that's incredibly boring. I want to actually care about winning the game again in ranked playlists like in Halo 2/3. Now it doesn't matter if you win or lose.. Not to mention the overall direction 343 took Halo by implementing all of this gimmicky shit.

5 RepliesThe competitive side of Halo 4 has gotten so much better. I find is much more enjoyable and I'm glad they made more changes, also the population is growing slowly.
-
No, it still would have sucked (MM at least, anyway). Reach introduced too many aspects that turned Halo on it's head and 4 is just the next stage in this upheaval. For me, what made Halo, Halo, has been lost in amongst a slew of changes. I've gone back to Halo 3 and I honestly don't see myself playing 1 more game of H4. I will trade it in, when something exciting presents itself. That's coming from someone who has frequently nearly soiled my knick knocks in love of Halo as well.... Sad days 😔
-
Because it's a sequel. Not only that, it's a sequel made by a different company. Sequels always get hate for not being like the prior game(s).

4 RepliesFirst i must ask is this your first Halo ? And why post here or is 343i still ignoring people while on cloud nine ?

19 RepliesEdited by raveun2me: 7/1/2013 7:44:24 PMIf Bungie would've made Halo 4 We would still have 1.Theater in all modes 2.All the cool custom games 3.1 flag ctf 4. able to release the f*&#ing Flag 5. UNSC flying vehicles 6. Forgeworld 7.PET's in Forgeworld 8. More ppl playing Halo 9.I'd still have a game that I enjoyed 10. More frends playing Halo Unfortunately we wouldn't have 1. Destiny 2.I'll take Destiny ANY DAY OF THE WEEK

More than anything else my major issue with H4 is the missing features that were cut to rush the game out for christmas. -Assault -Custom game options -Ranks -Forge bugs -No Forgeworld -CTF options -Elites -Flying UNSC air vehicle I have major issues with so many other aspects of Halo 4 (from music to weapon designs, Campaign to loadouts) but my main issue is that the game isn't complete. If they had added all these missing things from the start I'd probably be ok with H4, but for me it's not only broken but it's also incomplete as well. One or the other, not both!
-
The disappointment of Reach has flowed like bitter sauce all over H4. Its like tasting your first green beer - ruins the taste for that brand, Or getting that first anchovy - turns you pizza shy. Or finding a pube in your pasta ... never the same :(

3 RepliesI don't like Halo 4, I hate it and that's it. If you don't like other people disliking it, then is for a reason. Move on with your life.
-
The hate mostly stems from too many unnecessary changes. These changes resulted in a game that was more frustrating, boring, and overall less enjoyable than previous Halo titles. Personally, I also hate the game due to the complete mess that is splitscreen. Halo had been the champion of splitscreen for years, with every title offering a better 2-4 player experience than its competitors. In H4 splitscreen, however, most maps are unplayable and the experience is inferior to other games.

2 RepliesMany long time fans like myself found it to be a colossal let-down, existing in the shadow of the originals. Newer fans are a lot more likely to enjoy Halo 4.
-
1 ReplyAnd what also sucked is that we couldn't beta test the game
-
It's just a bunch of cod style random ass assness now. The fact that it took them SEVEN MONTHS to actually put weapons on the maps shows how out of touch 343 is.
-
1 ReplyDoesn't feel like Halo.
-
45 RepliesBecause Halo 4 was a downgrade in pretty much every aspect. Not to mention it barely plays like classic Halo anymore.

6 RepliesEdited by rocketFox: 6/30/2013 6:39:51 PMHonestly if Bungie had made Halo 4 exactly how it was by 343i there would still be the same amount of hate, give or take. It's not that Bungie didn't make Halo 4 that makes most of dislike H4, it's that 343i didn't match the same level of all-rounded excellence of previous Halo games. For instance there are missing things that have been part of Halo for a long time (Assault, Elites, custom game options) or not long at all that we love (Firefight, Invasion). Compound that with a strange misunderstanding of what made the old Halos great (through destroying the concept of the equal start through all those perks, loadouts, specs etc). All in all, for me anyway, Halo 4 is an imposter. It sort of looks like Halo and it sure does have a lot of the parts of older Halo games (including straight copy pastes of 3d models) but it's too misbalanced, too incomplete. It's part try-hard and part can't-be-bothered. 343i spend all that time designing countless Spartan armors (that look all alike) and then can't be bothered to redesign the Reach Scorpion, Ghost, Needler, CR etc. It paints a really strange picture that basically boils down to one word; inconsistency. I don't hate Halo 4. I'm just disappointed and worst of all I'm just not surprised that it's as bad as it is. H4 should have been the easiest game to make in the entire world, like shooting fish in a barrel. But somehow 343i missed.

I knew it was going downhill after Reach was released. 2 & 3 will never be beaten. Multiplayer wise. I've always thought the campaign/story in Halo was weak. Except for Combat Evolved. CE was the perfect FPS.
-
In many ways all halo 4 did was build on things that were already terrible gimmicks in the franchise that could of been either fixed or removed but 343 just made them more annoying and then even removed certain features of the game and such to which lost a lot of replay ability which a lot of the other Halo's had.
-
2 RepliesAlso did you know at the moment Halo 4 has less people online in the same timeframe than Reach did?
-
5 RepliesShooting Halsey and cutting her arm off for pointless ambiguity? I'm willing to forgive some things but they can go -blam!- themselves over that.
-
I personally love Halo 4, but it was definitely rushed. For example, pre-release, 343i was asked if the "Skull-itch" was going to be scratched with hidden terminals. 343i, don't worry, they will scratch that itch for you. My ass. Those terminals were easier to find then a blade of grass on a soccer field. But for what it's worth, it's a real solid game that did impress me, but I will not falter in saying it was rushed. What would really get me going back to Halo 5 is if there was a way to implement sprint, but make it still feel like classic Halo. What kind of a super soldier can't sprint? As for OP, I agree with you. People wouldn't be complaining and jumping on the "Hate Halo 4" bandwagon nearly as much as they are if Bungie had made it. I really loved Reach, probably my favourite Campaign and second favourite MP. So I'm really not a hater. I just love Halo!
