5 RepliesI know what it is, and so does Bungie. We have seen this ruin Iron Banner over the passed year. Once, everyone wanted to jump on to get six stacks going in. Then something changed around early 2021. No longer were the days of close matches, and down to the wire finishes. Almost every match turned into getting steamrolled, or steamrolling the opposing team. Now, it is taking place in every PvP mode. It has made PvP a miserable experience. Did every player I know just become trash overnight? No. The PvP in D2 became trash the very first day of the new season. Everyone sees it, and Bungie has said nothing! There is no amount of nerfing/buffing that will fix it. Going to skill based matchmaking, or connection based matchmaking will not fix it. It's on purpose. What is happening is no matter how good you are, you will never consistently dominate. Bungie has taken this from Call of Duty and some other games. An algorithm that automatically nerfs/buffs your skills. This is why in some matches: Shots don't connect all of the time, while the opposing team lands all headshots. The opposing team has an obvious advantage in movement speed. With 100 resilience you still get melted like butter, while the opposing team takes excessive or sometimes no damage. Some teams can fire guns faster than they actually do. Which feels like getting one or two tapped by everything. The list goes on.... It is supposed to allow more competitive gameplay, evening out players and matches so that one team or player is not just slaying all night long. Problem is, is that it is extremely broken. It is frustrating, and has made PvP pretty much unplayable. Everyone is losing their patience and bailing to other games. This will create an even smaller player pool in PvP. Soon it will be all the testers, and devs in there just working everyone like it was there first day on the game. Kind of like Trials. How fun! Sadly, it is the beginning of the end for PvP in D2.
