4 RepliesWhere is the : The game has become pointless and stale to me , and even new content is not going to fix that core problem. Option. That and horizon forbidden west is looking mighty fine. And I will be smart for once and wait a month to see if the dlc is worth it for me.

11 RepliesEdited by Prototape: 2/12/2022 3:08:40 AMThe content is beyond the narrative. Why would I jump in at this point when I'm beyond being able to understand the plot now? What I know at this point is funni chicken robot man ded, and I didn't even get to experience that for myself. It got spoiled to me when I was at a point when I couldn't play it, then the content got deleted. I can't go back and play it anymore, what's the point? You play games for the experience, I'm not going to settle for a recap. I no longer have any investment in the universe. Why would I buy something impermanent when literally every other game I've bought has managed to keep its own content that I spent money on? I don't buy part 2 of 4 of any movie series without watching part 1, why would I do it in a video game? I like stories, I'm not the kind of pervert who looks up spoilers on Wikipedia. They have their justifications, they're wrong. You can't justify deleting things people paid for, ever. It's a horrible practice and it's not something I'd have ever expected a company like Bungie settling for, but they did. I don't trust their judgement, I don't trust them, they're riding on the coat tails of their prior popularity and they don't even realize it. But I hope they do eventually and turn it around. I come by here and there hoping to hear some community update about "we realized the content vault was absolutely moronic [blah blah blah]", but they don't. They just keep chugging along, not realizing they're burrowing further and further into the dirt. Bungie was was taken over by a new crew that have no heart or soul, they just live to push out content. They applied to be part of a legacy and they turned it into another in a very long line of developers that lives to screw over the people who'd like to take part in what they have to offer. They're literally the kind of thing that's destroyed any semblance of love or enjoyment of games, which is rich coming from a company who's slogan used to be "We make games we want to play". Indeed. Destiny had some cool ideas. They traded it in for an unspoken subscription model that wipes out old-gen content which is completely unheard of, at least as far as my stupidly large library is concerned. The promised ideas aren't anything compared to the price you pay beyond the monetary value and it's utterly unsurprising to me that they had to sell out to Sony. There's a snowball's chance in hell I ever come back to this game if they keep this model. The expansion's name isn't even alluring. This is Destiny 1 content, 100%. The well is dry, it just looks desperate. This isn't Bungie, this is just some other game developer pushing some 'concept in beta' idea that's happy to delete their past for the sake of bigger and better; but they never quite get there and in their current state they never will. Destiny will never be the talk of the town again, because they've settled. This isn't the kind of company that pushes out ground-breaking E3 trailers anymore, this is just another faceless company that makes video games, something everyone and their dog can do and publish anymore. There's no allure or draw, it's just content in an endless vacuum of content. And they're charging for it, when the buyers understand it'll get deleted one day. Crazy times we live in. It's a far cry from what things used to be, even in D1 days, and god knows we all thought that game was a bit of a mess. But we held on thinking it would get better, it just never did. And now we can't even trace the roots of the plot-line anymore without relying on some -blam!- on youtube telling us main story-beats. Bungie needs a corporate handler. Can't believe I'm saying it, but I'm saying it.

1 Reply“Variks, what is he saying!?”
I bought it
-
I would have voted, but your spelling and grammar have warranted my abstention.
-
Where is variks when you need him....
-
the infantile spelling errors, combined with pre-kindergarden grammar hurts my eyes. If you don't like paying for content that will go away, then don't play the game. That's how life is - paying for stuff that can some day turn out to be worthless
-
1 ReplyNot buying it bcoz crossplay issues have never been acknowledged and I'm not willing to put up with it anymore.
