Same issue for me. I cannot progress any further. Originally did it with a friend, then did it by myself, then I restarted the game, still got the Ether Collection encounter, didn't shoot any wisps (cuz BungieHelp tweeted out saying to not shoot them), and still nothing. Gonna do this on another character. If someone tried doing the quest on another character, please say so. I will report back with an update.
