Attunement of hunger is stuck in y1! It had its place back in the double primary meta and ever since forsaken it's a back seat subclass. It's perk tree is severley limited and if you aren't slaying it's as good as dead. Most case scenarios you get your kill robbed before ever getting to re fresh devours window and heal yourself. If you can't tell already it's a pvp post. I shouldn't have to disclose that yet i have to for the sake of the community.
As it stands 2 of its perks should be combined under one. Perk. Both feed the void and devour should be one. Re written as. Consuming your gernade or getting a charged melee kill grants devour. For a short time afterwards kills restore additional health. Insatiable left as is. And a new perk in its tree column surge! For those who don't remember or are unaware of destiny 1s. Surge was pulsewave but for voidwalkers. And instead of when weak it was when an enemy died youd gain the effects of faster movement speed weapons speed however it should also gain faster melee speed. To keep with the whole vampire theme. And help the melee disadvantages the warlock suffers from.
Also it's still needs Lance or shatter. I'm tired of nova bomb being so easily avoided just by sliding under it jumping over it or walking past it just to live. Why it says enemies trapped in side it doesn't trap anything? If we're going to keep vortex should work like pre nerf duskfield. As it can't be spammed.
(Edit) Surge Renamed as Sanguine Craving. Charged melee kills, Nova Bomb and Consuming your gernade and getting a kill while devour is procd. Grants increased melee speed, weapons speed and movement speed. Sanguine Craving stays active as long as devour remains active.

1 ReplyLance!!! It needs it desperately.

2 RepliesBlink: the only jump in the game that puts you at a disadvantage in so many ways, maybe undo 5 out of the 120 nerfs Nova bomb the only super that easily kills the user cause #bungielogic, maybe make it so that it deals less damage or how bout it doesn't kill you at all cause you know, it's ur own damn super duhhh Vortex the joke of a super that can be avoided even if you're not paying attention, how bout it pulls people in like idk, an actual Vortex? Axion bolt and Scatter grenades?? bruh Devour: basically the only reason to use Attunement of Hunger
-
1 ReplyI dont use Bottom Tree because Crimson exists.
-
1 ReplyI think Shatter and/or Lance will come when they overhaul the Light subclasses in a Stasis-esque way. Devour and Cataclysm do need changes though rn before that stage. Cataclysm itself is fine aside from the self-killing Nova, it's the grenades that take away from it. As for Devour, yeeeaaahhhh the Vortex sucks (and should suck enemies in like the Duskfield grenade, but slower and consistently). Maybe a slight change to both melees as well, as they just duplicate whatever the grenade perk is (devour and explodes on kill). Very basic melees that are stuck in year 1, especially when compared to Titan Hammer throw, Celestial fire, reload speed buffs, stasis etc.

I think the main/only problem with devour is that it's soooooooo -blam!-ing boring. All 4 perks do the same thing

2 RepliesEdited by Dredgen Araphel: 8/7/2021 7:50:22 PMWell don't worry with how the community acts and how Bungie caves we probably will go back to a double primary special weapons are apparently a problem now because a bunch of streamers said so. Bottom tree as much as I want it to be good just straight up needs a rework from the ground up. Very disappointed that they didn't take the opportunity to add lance but the problem is its lack of resources ie cooldown mitigation and its clunky super. They can increase blast radius 1000 times and it still won't make this a good or even viable subclass. I agree with every single point. Needs a whole overhaul and rework or just collapse it into the other trees.

Apart from the garbage nova bomb itself, I happen to think both bottom and top tree neutral game on voidwalker are actually balanced.

1 ReplyWarlocks have a lot going for them especially in pve so uh no can we not make warlocks more ridiculous with their abilities and effects
-
2 RepliesIt’s already crazy good. The only content it struggles in is grandmasters. There are several combinations you can use to make yourself more tanky. Nothing even comes close to its ability to keep you in a fight.
-
Tbh, all bottom tree in particular needs is a buffed Nova Bomb. Give it v1 Duskfield pull and maybe damage scales up for duration? Doesn't need to match Slova damage but should certainly be better than currently.
-
1 ReplyTotally agree! I was shocked it didn't get any buffs in this new list of changes. Also I like your suggestions of adding surge to replace one of the combined perks.
-
1 ReplyIn pve, enemies walk out of the vortex nova, lol. Its so bad.

1 Replyvoidwalker buff? includes lance/ shatter? updoot

2 RepliesVoidwalker doesn’t need much. I really like the idea of fusing those two perks together, but surge would have to be reworked if it were to keep its D1 effect. Surge - Energy drain hits increase mobility, weapon handling, and melee attack speed for a short time. The problem you run into is being able to continually activate surge as long as you don’t kill the enemy as devour does not disappear on a hit. My idea: - Hungering Abyss - While Devour is active, vortexes and vortex Grenades last longer and restrict enemy movement. This would give an extra incentive to have devour up at all times and give you a boost to not just your super but your already strong neutral game. The Vortexes would see a duration increase of 1.5x for the Grenades and 2x for the super. The movement restriction would be similar to a tether but without the suppressing or disorienting. Only Ultras (Bosses) would be able to move around in them. The Grenades would also have a much weaker impact on Guardians. This would be largely similar to a movement penalty found in places like the thrallway. As far as Lance and shatter go, I don’t think adding either of those abilities to this tree really makes any sense. Lance could be an exotic however… Halikon Spear - Warlock Gauntlets - Accelerationism - Drastically increases the speed and impact damage of nova Bomb at the cost of its blast radius.

1 ReplyUnfortunately I don't remember D1 very well but that's due to the fact I stopped playing half way through. That's another story. I agree with what you say. There's no point in having two abilities that do the same thing. It's still a strong subclass for soloing things but the super could use some work as well.

5 RepliesEdited by Baya: 8/6/2021 5:32:34 AMI don't know, man - i haven't played D1, but i think Bottom Tree Voidwalker is one of the strongest subclass in the game. I've done most of my solo dungeon runs etc. with that. BTVW with the right exos has insane survivability, for me it's fine as it is.
-
7 RepliesBottom tree voidwalker is really good, I don't understand why ya'll keep saying its bad. Devour doesn't need to be tweeked, its amazing as ever. All bottom tree voidwalker needs is the nova bomb to do like 10% more impact damage and then buff the vortex. It doesn't need anything else. Subclass is fine as is and is solo flawless dungeon material.

5 RepliesSorry to say this but to Bungie top and bottom voidwalker are the standard of where they want subclasses. The recent twab was about pulling things in line and notice what wasn’t touched.

4 RepliesEdited by hate n payne: 8/6/2021 3:06:18 AMI miss Surge. They had it as Swift Strike on TTD before they change it to Celestial Fire. I agree with everything you said though.
