I have a better idea.
Ban people for getting recoveries on their account. Since, if I’m not mistaken, it is a violation of Bungie’s Terms of Service.

In what way? Also just so you know I don't even deal with trials but if next week has the sword as the 3 win reward I might give it a try

1. You take yourself out of the normal matchmaking pool making other people’s matches harder 2. It’s agains bungies rules which makes it cheating and bannable 3. It breaks the loot economy of the best players getting the best loot, so essentially you get the best thing but you didn’t earn it at all this degrading the value of everyone’s loot and the playlist’s integrity even more

Edited by Hank: 3/3/2021 2:07:08 AM1. The system that was discovered has no effect on the matchmaking pool so that point is moot. It only took effect IF two teams randomly matched each other. For any other teams, they got auto wins as the traders just backed out. For other methods of win trading that may involve network manipulation then it could effect the pool, but not the case here. 3. There is no “loot economy” being affected by more people having trials loot, even the adept stuff, since there is no trading or way to transfer loot between players. The same loot exists in the game for all players to pursue. The only thing affected by more people having trials loot are the egos of trials players, which shouldn’t matter as it is childish and petty.

Then why did bungie shut trials down due to win trading, if it isn’t hurting anyone and it isn’t bad?

Well lets be honest when I see trials gear I don't think "wow they earned that" i think "did they earn that?" Recovs and cheating are bigger problems than win trading and cause the same issues you just listed
