I’m sure there are a few of us but I thought I’d just have a glance at my clans roster today.
Two online last week and the rest somewhere between 3-6 months ago. Now I’m not saying we were ever mega-active but the way people have drifted away is a bit sad.
No more clan engrams, no more clan progress.
I think there should be a graveyard for dead clans somewhere in the Destiny universe where we can go and mourn and (maintaining social distancing of course) commiserate with one another.
Update : I left the clan today. Some of us hadn’t been online in 10 months and most were between 4-6 months of absence. Time to run solo. Thanks for everyone’s input. Take care out there people!.

I started a Clan week 2 of Destiny with a dozen or so of my friends that jumped into the game at the same time. We were called “Zone B.” It was a huge laugh because back when there were the big D1 maps with vehicles, Zone B was always the most important zone to hold. Within a year the clan was down to 3. I was the only holdout to make it to D2. And then, I got an invite to join a clan from some new friends i made. Then I left when those friends stopped playing. Now I’m part of some random clan that invited me cold two weeks ago. I haven’t played a game with my clan mates since joining. Just an easy way to get an extra couple of loot drops a week.

I’ve been in 4 clans since it launched, all of them fizzled out until the one I’m in currently. Its a bummer but the game tends to turn off or burn out vets.

2 RepliesThree clans I run with, 276 members and so far since guardian games started only 6 players from all our clans have logged on. People are kind of tired of the content at this point. Add to that, 90% of us in these clans have been playing together since Destiny's beta. The game lacks most everything a good FPS, looter shooter, mmo, rpg needs to stay alive. We all kind of feel that right now there is no need to play and no goal to achieve. We have more fun setting up D1 activities and doing the old raids than playing these seasonal things. Destiny has become a casual players wet dream. Everything is easily obtainable, no need to really grind for anything and weapons are just so hohum that it really doesn't matter what gun you use. Just get a kill and finish the bounty. Done. On the bright side. If you have or have had a Destiny addiction problem? The current game makes going cold turkey very easy to get over. Most of my clanmates have deleted the app from their phones and many are now deleting the game from their PS4's. to make room for new games. Since the game is now free to play, I don't have as much hope for it in the coming near future. Might be a fun way to pass an hour or two but not something worth pouring hundreds of hours into anymore.

I formed a new clan after a long time clan fell apart. We have a hard time, because we have to turn new members down. We went from around 15 members to 55 in no time, but because we do our best to meet all new members, and get in some gametime with them, we try to limit new members until we know those that join. Its hard because I will respond to somebody on the forums, because they look to be a good fit, and we get 30 new requests from that one post. If you decide to start a new clan, try what I did. Don't be the clan god. Find a few that you trust to be admins, and run the clan as a group. All our members have a voice on the clan chat, and we use it all the time. Members do not have to agree with everything either. Or play 24/7. People like to have a little control, give it to them. Right now, of the 55 in our clan, only my back door to the clan is inactive. We hit level 6 two weeks ago. How you run the clan, makes a real difference on how active the clan is. Don't be a tyrant.

1 ReplyI just see the Founder and admins on 2 months ago, it's time to leave buddy.

2 RepliesEdited by GenXer: 5/11/2020 5:59:54 PMI've taken to "Spring Cleaning". I used to run my clan so that anyone can join and stay forever. And while we've had a few come back after very long absences, they are very few and far between. We were like a well slowly filling up with pebbles until there was little room for water. So every year, on May Day, I look at who hasn't logged for the previous year and a half. This year, it was everyone who hasn't logged in since some time in 2018. They get demoted to the lowest caste. If they still haven't logged in by June 1, they are removed from the clan to make space for new people. It has rejuvenated the clan, somewhat, at least in the shorter term, but it's getting harder to keep people interested in this game over the longer term. I have just one officer left from when we originally formed in the beta days. We're about to have about 25 spots open up June 1.

I just had a Sole Survivor drop last week with Fourth Times The Charm and Firing Line.

4 Repliespeople play in diffrent time zones so everyone isn't logged on at the same time as you it do happen from time to time .
-
I have a group of say five that actively play. And then the other 20ish show up when we aren’t in a content drought, or for the occasional raid.
-
5 RepliesLots of clans are looking for active folks now. The clans that survive are the ones who continuously clean up the roster and add new folks. If you're on ps4 we have spots
-
3 RepliesAre you looking for an emblem, bruh?
-
1 ReplyWith a clan name like Dwindling Light, what did you expect? 🤣 Just kidding, sounds like a cool clan that I would love to join but I pretty much quit playing after getting the Guardian Games exotic.
-
1 ReplySame here, clan of 80 or so people down to maybe 3-5 active players. I left and joined a clan of new light players but now that I have helped them through the things they wanted accomplished they are slowly disappearing as well, we are down to maybe 10 regulars.

2 RepliesIdk, while the state of the game sucks right now, I kind of don’t mind downtime from Destiny. Gives you a chance to enjoy other games, take breaks from gaming altogether, etc. One of the reasons that the expansion model vice a seasonal model was my preferred method, was precisely because there were times that once you finished with the new content you could feel like moving onto to other things without a fear of missing out. Having constant grind fests and events every week gets old fast.

1 ReplyThe game just isn’t rewarding. It’s mostly about completing bounties, instead of getting good loot.
-
1 ReplyMe and a few of my friends (some IRL) got bored of our respective clans being inactive and we actually went and made our own clan that has a solid 10-15 people active now.
-
1 ReplyEveryone of my friends irl quit and when the rest of our group started to quit I followed suit. It’s sad but so is the state of game which is why so many people are playing other games.
-
1 ReplyThe best clans usually aren’t looking for members
-
2 RepliesHow can you feel like a sniper rifle?
-
1 ReplyMy clan averages between 10-20 people on a day We raid about 3-5 times a week Play crucible, pinnacles and gmnfs We also have a 70 person clan, I’d like to see more active people but it is what it is
-
2 RepliesYep me too, we were a small clan of friends but I'm the only one logging in regularly now. Lfg is my go to now, and that works well for some of the more popular activities; anything a little more niche is generally a lot harder to arrange.
-
1 ReplyOf the 40 strong active clan I was in at the end of D1 only two of us still occasionally play (on different platforms) lol
-
1 ReplyI wouldn't say it's so much as only the games fault but I'm in a similar boat. My clan easily used to be well over 20+ strong back in D1 and now it's maybe 6-7 with only 2-3 of us actually still playing on a regular basis. I lost a few in D1 after Crota's End and some people found that all the grinding we did through VoG to get to light level 30 was basically for nothing since in Dark Below all the default tower venders sold lvl 30 gear. Lost a few more over the years since a lot of us were finishing school and getting crazy shifts that gave us little to no time to play like we used to. Now when D2 came out I had a strong 8-10 people who played all the time. It was a combination of things, but 3 of them absolutely hated the double primaries in pve and the "prestiges" Calus raid with revive tokens and not having consistent heavy drops just to use a shotgun killed their enjoyment of the game almost overnight. 2 of them came back in Forsaken but they play on PC instead of PS4. Some others left the clan but we still play together. But in all honesty, I just made my clan as a type of "reward" for me and my friends that solo flawless ran Crota before it was "easy as pie". That and Bungie hyped the clans up as being so much more than they turned out to be, so that was a little bit of a bummer. lol

1 ReplyAt reset my clans very active, after that not many are on. No1 cared for GG so they got HA and quit the event. I dont blame them. Theres plenty of games out to play so i dont hate.

1 ReplyEdited by Sweet Lew 88: 5/10/2020 6:32:35 PMI'm in the same boat. However, my friends do come back sometimes. If it matters to me that much, I'd join a new clan rather be the captain of a sinking ship. What's keeping you from recruiting players?
