Mercy Rule and Join in Progress needs massive adjustments

Zero reason a Join in Progress should ever happen where I spawn in a 6v1 with the score 65-7. Mercy Rule should have kicked in long before I even connected to the lobby. A pretty f uc king pathetic oversight

  • Need to get rid of Mercy rule and the (we are breaking up those teams) at the end of s match. People can leave a lobby on their own. In that rare moment when you want to sit down and "get good" well you can't. Shaxx decided he has seen enough and ends the match then breaks up teams only to repeat the situation right after on soon after. How does someone get good if their hard matches are ended abruptly. How do you know what skill or weapon to adjust when you are forced from one game to another?

    • Mercy rule and join in progress definitely need to be reworked. Just doesn't make sense 99% of the time. Just mercy those obviously out of control games and move on. No one wants to join a blowout.

      JiP IS annoying, but worse is the matches that start with one team shorthanded. A match should never start with an odd number of players.

      • Crucible is so -blam!-ing broken. By that I mean there's cheaters everywhere the lag is everywhere, beavers everywhere, I have never seen people teleporting (no I'm not talking abilities) right in front of me before until this season. It's just unplayable. This is coming from a player with excellent internet status. I even saved the videos to see if I was just blind but nope, the servers are TERRIBLE.

      • I was just playing Mayhem, 4v4 at the start because low populations apparently (I'm in Western Canada, and they couldn't find 12 people across North America with everyone house bound over COVID??). So Bungle added 2 new players to the game about mid way. Both of them went on the opposing team so it was 6v4. It was all Solo Players on both teams. The incompetence never stops..

        • Mercy Rule needs to be based on the difference between both teams' scores, depending on the game mode, instead of [i]"Team 1 has to reach _____ points before Team 2 reaches ______ points."[/i] That seems to be the only way to fix it.

        • I like when you land and there isn't enough time to get a kill, so you wasted about 7+ minutes loading/unloading, then the game also bones you and treats you like you were AFK giving no weekly progress or end of game rewards. I don't mind joining games in progress, but I want weekly engram progress and rewards. It's bad enough that sometimes I land and I get spawn killed, supered several times in a row, etc. Which is normally followed by a major beatdown the next match.

              My thought on imbalanced teams and joining in progress has always been that they should simply implement a "handicap" or "penalty box" type system. If a match becomes 6v5 or 3v2, the team that has more players just has a random player stuck in some type of "spectator room" just outside the map. They can watch what's going on but are considered non-combatant like in the tower. That way the teams always stay relatively even. If some one new joins, the "stuck" player(s) is(are) moved back into play as if they respawned. Might not solve everything, but would help go a long way to preventing lopsided team blowouts. This could also apply to Gambit modes. Sorry if this was ever suggested before, I don't read forums/post often. Edit: phrasing

                • I swear 70 percent of my banner matches this week were all join in progress. I have never backed out of so many matches in all my years playing.

                • LOL at this Mercy Rule bs, JIP just to be mercied ruled is unforgiveable, Also the 75 is BS I jip n about 6 games where the leaders had 75 or more wins and the defeated had 20 to 30 wins and no mercy rule or I'M Calling it. 3 times started a match with the other side 6 players and my side 4 turns out on checking they were all joined together checked after match, Several times had all 6 players clan members on the otherside If they want to insist on clan bounties than it should be only ( enter amount here between 2-6 player) clans and not non clan 6 player than it might be more enjoyable ( match clan against clan). On the other hand how many have gone into any match where your team is on average 775 and the other team is over 1000 and you call that fair while they get heavy ammo right when you load in it happens, We just loaded in went to control zone and bam killed by heavy ammo and I won't say a word on the super kills within 2 minutes of loading in. The 120 rules is very lol 2 times our team hit 125 the other team had 100 and still was not called, 1 time we were 125 the others were 120 kept on playing ok it was still only 2 minutes left but still lol. Their have been several times when the other team had 125 our team was in the 70 - 90 range ( and sometimes the reverse ) and he says there's still time to win this 1. He would be proud. I should mention on a couple of occasions we enter as 4 on my side and 6 on the other after match making and fortunately we won and the drops were pathetic all blue and 10 - 20 below our light level, Fair you call it! But all in all it really needs to be fixed.

                      • I think it’s like 75-30 or something like that when it kicks in, they won’t make it lower like let’s say 50-35 cause a 15 point lead is literally nothing in iron banner or control in all honestly 75-30 really isn’t nothing that’s just being generous bc one power cap can turn that around, but I 100 percent agree with you lol I’ve gone on actual losing streaks behind this lol

                      • Loss stats should [b]not[/b] count if you joined in progress! It’s this way in CoD and it works really nicely, usually if you are joining in a game anyway your getting stomped and you almost always get a loss, as well as a severe kick in the ass to you KD because they all had supers as soon as you spawn in.
