Bungie, 2 prisms for a Platinum 980 Ordeal nightfall is not a good enough reward
It's hardly a worthy reward for the effort. I can get 2-3 prisms from a 100k score in a 950 Ordeal.
You know why people quit playing this game? Mediocre rewards

Difficulty only changes the loot pool and score does nothing but give you a pinnacle once a week per character. Reward is only tied to the difficulty and rng is then in charge from there.

That's just for emblem auras, increased nightfall exclusive loot drop %, weekly challenges and triumphs. Both clears were Platinum rewards from killing all the champions; that's all that matters for Ordeals. It's a pretty dumb system to be honest.

That's some bad rng my dude. I've done about 5 or 6 980 Nightfalls this week and got a Shard each time. It is all random.

2 RepliesUsing the Scarlet keep, a 15 min 980 run at best, is not a good example for return value. 2-4 prisms, a shard and an exotic are all possible rewards. Play the game u bot

A better set up would have been to reward based of a score tier list starting from 50,000 and increasing the reward tier every 50,000 or so while adding a bonus depending on if you got platinum or gold for champions killed.

3 Replies2 prisems is actually normal, you are not guaranteed a shard every run, but you do get one each second run in my experience. And when you don't get one, u will get 2 or 3 prisems. If you are masterworking 3 characters it's annoying to get this much shards so I understand your pain I just don't bother with my other 2 anymore

Edited by Rebellis: 2/1/2020 3:34:56 PMI just do the 920's. I seem to get an exotic every 5 - 7 runs, and don't really need pinnacles. Prisms are rare in those, but I have almost 700 cores, so if I need extra prisms (which I almost never do since build making isn't really a thing in this game) there's Banshee. 920s are just as challenging. Maybe even more so since most randos have no clue what champion mods are and Bungie unbelievably allows them to enter matchmaking without them.

Don't expect a perfect run with Exotic + Shard + Prisms every time. It happens, but not all the time. Cherry picking 3 runs where you din't get anything is meaningless, why don't you show all the triple reward runs you had so far? edit: That is IF you kill all the champs and get the platinum tier reward. If you skip any champ you won't get platinum tier.

3 RepliesRewards aren’t determined by score. They are determined by champions killed so if you speedrun the strike while killing of all champions it will dramatically decrease your time input and increase your rewards. You need to be grinding these strikes as you can get these rewards many times. Don’t expect everything in one go, you probably just got unlucky.

10 RepliesJust do pit on all 3 characters? End reward is always masterworked armor and dismantling them gives you 6 enhancement cores and 6 enhancement prisms

1 ReplyThe score only matters for the 100K pinnacle weekly challenge, and is unrelated to drops within the mode itself. Scores and the various strike emblems can have an effect on Vanguard Tokens, but not actual rewards.
