Too bad it wasn't designed for players that would rather play the game than watch a dude work on a spreadsheet.

3 RepliesIt’s all a crappy marketing ploy to attract new players, just like making the old content F2P likely because sales rates dropped and they needed new players.

1 ReplyPeople who are disparaging the OP are missing the point: Bungie need to stop making 'puzzles' that are designed to be solved _outside the game_. While I'm all for innovative new ways of game design, Bungie's obsession with forcing their own customers away from their own game and onto Twitch/Mixer, YouTube, third party sites, etc. is really counterproductive. If Bungie want to make puzzles for players to solve, they should have those puzzles be solved within the game itself, rather than offline/on another site/outside of the game. Puzzles inside the game that are dynamically generated and can be solved within the game would be far more interesting and have more replayability than one that only engages a subset of the community that likes doing things outside of the game. I suppose these types of quests do distract from lack of meaningful content within the game itself, but that doesn't actually solve the issue.

The mods at Raidsecrets Discord are actually gatekeeping a lot of data from the rest of the community while stealing the community data themselves. My clan asked for their spreadsheet and in return they asked for ours. After my clan gave it to one particular mod there, the guy just said that he's too busy to hand over their data and stopped replying. I'm pretty sure streamers are in on this gatekeeping thing going on there.

13 RepliesImagine if bungie didn't waste their time and money building a puzzle for streamers. Instead giving us the "renewed focus on pvp" we were promised. Also it is adorable to read comments from people stupid enough to defend this "Activity". Can't wait for the reward at the end to be worthless.

10 RepliesIf a spreadsheet is needed to play a video game, then something is wrong. Bungie has the wrong priorities.

37 RepliesI feel like gaming is losing what makes it great and streamers are a large part of the problems with today’s games. Games are being developed for esports and with streamers in mind rather than focusing on creativity and an immersive enjoyable experience. Something needs to change imo.

2 RepliesWatch out they are banning people in the "big" streamers rooms for saying it's a streamers puzzle. Just tested it because someone told me it was happening, they posted a reddit about it... Lame. It's sad how these rooms take away free speech so easy! Your freedoms.

2 RepliesI love how people who arent capable of solving this are complaining about those who can

2 RepliesI don't see why so many people have an issue with this quest. I'm not saying it's good a quest, it's quite boring, but it doesn't really affect the game for most people.
-
People like this annoy me. Everyone asks for more stuff like this that brings thr community together, then when they do, you people complain. Make up your mind.
-
Must feel cool being edgy and copying a minorities complaint for attention
-
Work on it as well, find a solution, be a hero! Or wait until those evil streamers figure it out so you can grab whatever reward it is for free. After you're done -blam!- about them, of course.

4 RepliesThat’s how it feels. It’s not a quest a normal person can actually play and have fun with that’s for sure

2 RepliesIt's another piece meant to bring the community together to solve. Outbreak Prime was an example of this all the way back in D1. The Valkyrie quest that brought players together to solve, Outbreak Perfected code that the community came together for, just about any contrived boss encounter for a raid. Streaming just brought these things to the forefront and allowed more community engagement, albeit bringing subs to the dominant content creators. Streaming hasn't ruined the game, in my opinion, but made it far more accessible to people to catch onto and learn from.

I'm enjoying it. It's the only way to make a difficult puzzle really. Any easier of puzzle that would take a few days for norms to solve would be solved by streamers in a couple hours. Then its over. So if bungie wants a hard puzzle that takes close to a week for everyone to figure out they have to base it on how fast the streamers can figure it out. (With the help of viewers) The whole community is working on this. 10000s players a feeding streamers information and other people off stream are compiling pieces and putting a map together. Feels like an event where tons of players have to work together or it would take months to figure out. Shows how strong the community really is. I have plenty complains about Destiny. Eververse, lack of factions, last vendor resets being seasons ago. Along with no dedicated servers in an AAA Title making millions, no true crucible end game. But this event has piqued my interest for 3 days, and I usually never spend more than 20 minutes a day watching stream. I'm afraid to turn glad off, and miss the solving of this.
-
And how many streamers have solved the codes? Because from what I've seen they've just been parroting what raid secrets have put together.
-
Surely we could’ve gotten a new PVP mode or SRL or a couple of new strikes for the amount of time and energy they put into this, right?
-
If streamers need subs that bad, maybe they should add a few more games to their repertoire.
-
14 RepliesImagine complaining about everything that comes out either enjoy or it or leave the game
-
Nope but you can bet your sweet ass, after they get it complete the Bungie store will have some over priced junk to commemorate it. And ole Eververse will have a emote, ornament and skin for sale (Silver only).
-
Hopefully this time Bungie ''remembers'' to code the solution in to the game.

5 RepliesI'm not participating in this. I'm not watching people work on it. I'm not even following it in the slightest. I'll wait and see what the ultimate reward is, and if it's good I'll look up the solution online, go straight to the goal and that's it. If all we get is a cutscene/that leaked audio and an emblem or something I'm gonna skip this entirely.

2 RepliesAgreed. What are the rest of us supposed to do while the 2% of the community that actually has a chance of figuring it out work on it? Play bounty Hunter? Or do the same circle jerk of activities we've been doing? Lol sounds unappetizing.
