It really cracks me up to see all you guys arguing about what bungie needs to do to make their game better, about how bored you all are with the game, how your now leaving because your tired of everything, ect.....
The guys talking like this need to take a break. It's a game, you play it in your spare time. It's not something you make a career out of. I haven't turned this game on since before shadowkeep and had taken a break for that whole season.(only to come back and enjoy the content) I'm not saying I stopped because I wasn't enjoying something about the game either, I just didn't feel like investing my time.
Bungie, in my opinion needs to take a year or two off from making destiny content just to let everyone clear their heads and de-tox from daily grind and mental frustration that this addicting game has caused them. It would honestly help the community and the dev team

Already taking a break for an unspecified amount of time
-
12 RepliesNah. The criticisms are fair. The game has a ton of problems that need fixing. Being compliant doesn't accomplish anything.
-
11 RepliesBut datto is already over 100 on the season pass! I need to follow in daddy dattos footsteps and earn all the pointless cosmetics!
-
The problem is that they're specifically making the game addictive, daily grinds to keep their core audience attached to the game in order to spend money and buy more cosmetic crap. That's the reason so many people criticized Bungie when they did and why so many do now. It was in a relatively decent place, it just needed more content. Bungie instead decided to do less content and charge more often for it. Thems the breaks.

5 RepliesThis game is like any addiction, it's only when you take a break from it, and break free from the shackles you thought were holding you, you realise that you don't need it like you thought you did. The game is designed to pray on addictive personalities, mainly the fear of missing out.

1 ReplyEdited by xAngelo0fdeathx: 1/4/2020 1:18:05 AMI mean this post does have some merit for a few reasons. I played up until around the end of Forsaken and started to get really burned out right before the release of Black Armory. From what I had seen at the time, I had no interest in the annual pass so I took a break to play some other games and try out the game pass (Xbox). Played DMC 5 (frigging awesome), KH3, MHW, Crackdown 3, Gears 4 and 5, Human Fall Flat, lots more indie games, and even a bit of Minecraft (I made a villager love shack where they just continually banged as long as I put down beds, and destroyed a pillager tower with a few TNT and good ol' flint). Now I'm just getting back into the game and there's so much changed and new content to do that it's almost overwhelming lol. Theres so much stuff I need to catch up on and try, frig I still need to actually beat Riven lol. Also I saved like $100 by buying Shadowkeep with all the stuff I missed in the annual pass by buying it on Boxing Day lol. Tl;Dr: Breaks can be good, lots of good games out there. Chances are when you come back the content that you missed will also be cheaper. :)

It takes a lot for me to get so bored or mad that I take a break but seriously, this season is pretty shallow. Last time I did was during CoO... coincidence? Joking aside, its definitely important to take some breaks even if they are just a few days at a time.
-
the "take a break" mentallity isn't the solution, bungie isn't doing very well and they are mostly preying on FOMO. eververse has become the main focus again and it's really as if they aren't trying to test things, they just let the players find what's wrong. i doubt the work around for the EDZ obelisk was found by a bungie employee, and instead of paying employee's to fix it they just share the work around.
-
1 ReplyTaking a break doesn't make the game any less terrible. The flaws are noticeable and if Bungie insists on keeping it this way, then it wouldn't matter if I came back next season. Those flaws will still be there.

Edited by everwilling: 1/3/2020 8:01:35 PMI play destiny a lot less lately ....that’s the whole point ! I used to love logging in and spending a good amount of time and enjoyed it. Lately just can’t be arsed . Zero motivation. Lost it’s pull power. It’s a shame because would only take a few tweaks to improve, better rewards and more in-depth story with mysterious quests like whisper or outbreak which were awesome. Now it’s just underwhelming.
-
i've been in a break since Dawning started. doubt i'll be coming back if i'm just gonna be throwing away cash.
-
5 RepliesI mean they keep giving us more reasons to at least. But in all seriousness it’s hard for people to take a break since Bungie is pushing the FOMO tactic so hard.
-
Luke, FOMO, Smith wouldn't have that on his life
-
Given what’s been Developed since Bungie became independent it could easily be said that they have indeed taken a break. A couple horde modes, a dungeon, and a raid are the major additions when you add up the Shadowkeep expansion and both of the Season Pass offerings. A few D1 PVP maps were also added to the Crucible. I’m all in for Bungie taking a break but I’d like that break to be one where they are actually Developing content for this game. Based on what has been provided thus far I am not happy with the amount of content. A player exodus has/is occurring because the game simply doesn’t have the replay ability nor the loot to keep players invested. Armour 2.0 is broken and needs to be fixed as removing mods from 1 season to the next totally undermines the players time investment in crafting builds. Not to mention that amount of materials required to upgrade and MW armour.

Already did. Game is disgusting right now. Mobile grinding game

7 RepliesI took a break. I came back and it was the same shit. This "take a break" movement is laughable. Taking a break doesn't fix fundamental flaws in the game. They're still there when you get back.
-
I started my hiatus a few days ago and I have been having so much more fun on my other games. Almost forgot what a quality game was.
-
My last log in was 12/22 and it was just a little while I believe. I have been playing other games for quite a long time now. I really only come back for big things or if someone in my clan needs help. I used to play a lot, but this game could never hold my attention like D1 did. Even though that game was far from perfect.
-
1 ReplyHaven't played in a month. Do you mean take a break from the forums? The way I see it is that these forums, by design, IS the true endgame.

16 RepliesShut up. You aren't the expert in what everyone needs. People want THIS game to be better so that THIS game can be their #1 go to game. The fact you feel compelled to start this topic just makes you a narcissistic loser.

I find YOUR point interesting, but I find it fascinating that YOU'RE posting that statement here. This forum has always been toxic like that. You can't say anything on here without having a handful of the same ol' buttheads crankin' on you because you suggested something positive about PvP or PvE or the game in general that might actually be useful for the dev team. It's an us vs them mentality between the PvP and PvE players a lot of times. It sucks. But, both sides are passionate about the game and that should be good, but it's not. By the way: https://www.grammar-monster.com/easily_confused/youre_your.htm

I agree. Take a break. I just got d2 back after 2 or 3 years cant even remeber. I quit d2 when the first dlc dropped. I just picked it up again and am enjoying all the content I missed so far.
-
But it's the internet and we all like complaining to people and then validating our opinions based off of how many likes we get. And if that's not enough, we need that ego boost by calling people idiots in a war of wits when they disagree! Its6what keeps us waking up in the morning! It's not about the f****** game, It's about that internet badassedness! (You really should read that in Mr. Torgue's voice. If not, you're going to miss it).

Don’t worry I have.

Edited by Sarges24: 1/3/2020 10:37:47 AMI've been having a blast with Monster Hunter Iceborne the past month+. Also been working on the Gold Crowns to get the Platinum for MH Worlds. I do admit that I still try to log onto D2 each week to run my X strikes on 2-3 characters to complete the bounties for 400 Bright Dust. maybe even Gambit on 1-2 characters but that's about it. Anyway, a game like D2, no doubt it's best to take a break from time to time or split playing time with it and something else for a while; at least imo.
