Battle pass by default includes zero real content, just small virtual rewards to motivate continued play. Full on /timeplayed mechanic unless you buy the shortcut.
I miss when we got nice big blocks of new story content every 3-4 months.

Git Gud, then Git Gone

8 RepliesYeah it's giving me fortnite vibes. Not a good model for the players.

1 ReplyEdited by Noodle The Nerdle: 9/1/2019 8:32:27 AMTo anyone who is upset about the Battle Pass being added to Destiny 2... we've had it before. When you bought Rise of Iron in D1... guess what that came with? A record book... guess what was IN said record book? RANK UP REWARDS IN A BATTLE PASS FORMAT BEFORE FORTNIGHT WAS EVEN A THING. Don't believe me? Look at the Tweet I have linked, I remember those days. Ranking up via in game leveling and triumphs... just to rank up and get rewards. Like armor, shaders, a -blam!-ing shotgun... The Season Pass stuff is the exact same. If you don't buy Shadowkeep... you get the Freebie Battle Pass... which means you get stuff later down the line in the pass... vs buying Shadowkeep... which gives you the Season Pass for that season... giving you the Paid For Battle Pass... and getting stuff early. Case and point... the Exotic Hand Cannon for the freebies is... what, rank 25? 30? While those who buy Shadowkeep get it at rank 1. The game is now free to play, it's just additional rewards on top of the stuff the game has already. It's the same system that D1 had with Rise of Iron... you bought this DLC/Season? Here, have a season pass to stuff early. "But people can just pay to shortcut to the good stuff!" Boo -blam!-ing hoo. Not everyone is a hardcore player. This gives people who play casually who say... are missing ranks 90-100, a chance to still get those tail end 'cosmetics' at the lower end of the ranks a chance to get them... within the last 4 weeks of a season. Are you really going to complain about how someone chooses to spend their money... when you both will be getting the exact same loot rewards? "But my time invested!" Not to mention... didn't... at the launch of D2 Vanilla... anyone who pre-ordered got Coldheart early by several months before anyone who didn't? No one complained then... why ya'll upset about this then? EDIT: And before anyone points out the 'grind' ... They mentioned that an inventory of a few bounties, doing an 18 minute strike... gets you a rank up. So for a dedicated player... who plays for say... 4-8 hours a day maybe... how long do you think with that kind of math, would it take to reach 100? You'll be done before the season is over. And Bungie already said XP isn't going to be throttled... so... yeah, you'll get through the pass easily.

They been had this since rise of iron

Gotta love the genre shifts to be the best of neither, and worst of each. Now they’ll take away “events”, that they could barely churn out this year, every 3 months. This outta be interesting
-
3 RepliesI just... Idk man. People keep saying it's free, have they seen a -blam!-ing battle pass before? Look at the "free" shit for fortnite and bop4 this season. Tell me everything is fine.

I miss when we got nice big blocks of new story content every 3-4 months.
You know the more I read posts on the forums the more I realize how little of a grasp in reality you guys have. No one has actually explained what's wrong with the battle pass other than saying "it's a battle pass means bad" And destiny h da s never had new story content every 3-4 months
-
5 RepliesWhy are yall crying about the battle pass? You buy the season you get everything. You don't but the season you get nothing....
-
When was that??

2 RepliesThe games going to Free to Play at base, gotta give new players something. Almost every game has this now, some sort of battle pass system. It's... just something to earn rewards visually rather than a new player going "I didn't get anything, I feel like I'm wasting my time." It's that little dopamine rush going "Yeah I ranked up! I get a thing now!" It'll more likely keep a new player interested. And the only way to buy the shortcut from 1-100... is in the last leg of the season if you were either lazy and didn't play, or you are a working joe who doesn't have time to play more than an hour or two a day cause family or... whatever. People have different stories, some aren't the same as others. Working Joe A, has a different life than Working Joe B. Maybe they both have 3 kids, a loving spouse... but Working Joe A owns a business and is short staffed... and Working Joe B works at a restaurant. A has to spend more time at work to keep things running than B does. So A has less time to do... anything. The battle pass is more an "I need to catch up" system than anything.
And that example is my boss... cause holy hell are we short staffed... the man hasn't taken a day off in 5 months... dude works from 8 am - 12 am just so we can stay afloat. Cause finding people who actually want to work is hard. If my boss played Destiny... he'd have nothing in his vault.
5 RepliesSo your talking crap to bungie for adding new reasons to play. Man, people who post on forums are a little autistic.
-
2 RepliesThere is a brand new exotic hand cannon tied to it soooo there’s that 😅
-
3 RepliesYup. Bungie got even -blam!-ing lazier.
-
4 RepliesYou miss when they added conent every 3 or 4 months? So like the DLC which has been happening for Destinys life span? I mean are you forgetting this is coming with a huge ass DLC or what?
-
Did you miss the part where they said the Seasonal Rank reward system would be introduced alongside the traditional Seasonal content updates, ie. story, quests, activities, so on?
-
It’s 100% free
-
this is in ADDITION to the season pass content, not replacing it. its an ADDITION. Used to level up with vendors just by playing and get vendor rewards each time, this is is similar. this is an extra thing to keep you getting stuff while grinding other stuff. Bungie should shut down these forums, its just people whining and complaining about shit they can't understand
-
Fortnite f u cked gaming in more ways than what is commonly know
-
9 RepliesThen stop playing....
-
1 ReplyYup! Instead of adding in strike specific loot, maybe strike specific armor sets. Instead of refreshing all Destiny vendors every season with new weapons and armor sets, instead of adding items and loot as rewards to the actual game.....they ad a battle pass. A battle pass with exotics at that. To make it worse; they ad a "premium" version where you get that shit at pass LVL 1. What....the actual -blam!- are they thinking at Bungie. I'd honestly like to know who's -blam!-ing idea this was.

8 Repliesbeing able to buy ranks is the worst part of it all, so rather than respecting the time i put into destiny you just let other people buy what i earned through hard work. yay i guess for people that like to just buy everything instead of actually playing. I am most likely done with d2 after this announcement/ start of shadowkeep.
