Has any notice the post that are like the OP never replies to anyone? Edit: I'll stand corrected about the OP but I will stand by everything else. These posts pop up every time Bungie is selling something and has been since D1 released. Not one single time when I have brought up this question has the OPs replied to anyone until I mentioned it. If anyone is hyped about this after how D2 released and everything that has happened with the lying like things about saying Tess wasn't meant to be endgame content, XP throttling saying sorry "we won't do it again", but they do and get caught a second time with all the other shady moves this company has pulled? It's usually kids and teens that don't know any better. Someone mentioned this yesterday and it's the truth. Bungie has set the bar so low that most think when anything they do that is new that a normal AAA gaming company has been doing for years that are caught up to the 21st century is a big deal. Bungie hasn't done anything new that any other AAA gaming company has already done as far as In-game content that is broken right now. What's to really get hyped about knowing 5 years later, let's say that again, (5 years later) the loot system is on the verge of being broken. The economy is broken Barely anything in this game has been updated in 2 years and now that some of it is going to be updated 2 years later and I mean only some, it's a big deal? Who's getting a deal here??? because it's not us that's for sure. I mean it took Bungie literally 4 years later to add to where a hunter can see their entire cloak and you gamers got all excited about that. Here I'm thinking any other AAA gaming company would have had that done years ago. Now before some of you make a reply to me, this is not about "hatting on Bungie" because there are a few things they have done that have been good for the game. The problem is, the good doesn't outweigh the bad and when the bar is set so low and gamers just accept that, that means the quality and quantity of content will be low. That's not something to be hyped about. I want to see AAA content produced, not amateur knowing Bungie has had since 2007.

  • Shadowcreep is just a quick way to grab some cash after leaving Activision. Hey guys, here's the Moon again, but woah, it's way better because . . uh . . because it's new-ish. And by new-ish we mean the same, except different somehow. We know you already paid for the Moon, but we think you're dumb enough to pay for it again. I mean you bought that annual pass crap. Compared to that Shallowkeep is a bargain. See you on the Moon! Again! Woo-hoo! Pre-order now. We accept credit cards, cash, checks, money orders, aluminum cans, tokens, and first born. Shaderkeeper will be released Oct. 1st, or whenever, but your credit card will be charged immediately. There are no refunds no matter how bad it is. Oh yeah, and we're like listening to you, etc. blah, blah, blah. Luke says hi. Nah, I made that up. His mom says hi for him. See, she's holding his tiny wrist and making him wave. So cute!

  • There is no way in hell I'll ever pre-order anything from this company. Their product for the last 2 years hasn't even been worth the cost some have paid for and seeing how lazy they have been designing gear for Shadow Keep and the rest of D2? It's a joke that call that quality content.

  • Going back to the moon WOW! Was there in D1, old content, Crota, and all the “resurrected” enemies, beat them in D1. Outbreak, Truth, Thorn, Suros, Last Word, Chaperone, Queenbreaker, Sleeper, Spindle, Astrocyte verse, Peregrine greaves, Khepri’s, sunbracers, eternal warrior, helm of saint 14, etc.... had them all in D1. What’s so exciting about D2? Not a damn thing it’s just a new way for them to sell us old shit.

  • The only thing about d2 is the new events but like everything else that will get old as usual. This game needs an overhaul with everything.

  • Bungie Set the Bar low bc they were in chains. No Activision, No chains... They deserve a second chance.

  •
Bungie Set the Bar low bc they were in chains. No Activision, No chains... They deserve a second chance.
False, this had nothing to do with Activision as far as creating content, especially the in-game content that is broken in D2 and Bungie rebooting the game. Case and point? D1 loot system, economy, Skill tree, random rolls, re-rolling perks, plenty of loot to chase, etc... That alone puts the entire D2 system to shame at this point and D1 had far less content in activities, yet a much healthier player base around the same time.

  • Activision could have forced them to change D2 to save on costs. The more you put into a game the more you have to pay for programming. Thus a sht load of money was saved for D2 since it barely had anything.

Bungie designed the game not the publisher and they didn't force them to do anything other than push them to meet their contracts deadline. Not that Activision didn't give them an extra year etc... Edit: It looks like to me you're looking for excuses for Bungie poor development.

  • Looks like you just don’t understand how their relationship affected the game. Why do you think Eververse was pushed instead of better content? It was all money for Activision. The less you spent on content and more you make off cosmetics the better the net profit. Bungie had their hands tied. Contract did not work im their favor. No contract= No obligations to meet = More freedom. Good day sir. Muted.

I disagree with that actually, the other guy was just hating for the sake of hating. I’m a huge critic of bungie myself as it happens but what that guy clearly does not understand or more likely just choosing to avoid an inconvenient truth is that Activision did have a huge influence over destiny content and direction of travel. Thus my point: BOTH bungie and Activision were at fault. More so the latter than the former. He seems to think Activision is some sort of patron saint, ummm, does he not know anything about their shady practices lol

  • Yes, it was both Bungie and Activision fault. But, as I was saying to the other guy, things like Bungie changing the weapon slots, removing random rolls, etc. That is all Bungie so when gamers say Activision "made them do it" kind of answer, it's far from what a publisher does when it comes to the developer. They may have pushed Bungie to cut content to sell in pieces like CoO, but they do not tell a developer how to create their game.

  • It's just common sense that I don't understand why a lot of gamers don't have. There is never just one side of things.

  • Let me get this straight. Activision: Gave BUNGiE an extra 500 smackers Gave BUNGiE 2 extra years, one for each game, to properly develope each game Gave BUNGiE Vicarious Visions AND Highmoon Studios, two incredibly accomplished studios that have made cult classic, and popular gamea alike. Gave BUNGiE two seperate contract renegotiations that both ended in BUNGiE's favor. But we call that "Putting BUNGiE in chains". Does, uh... Does anyone wanna explain it to this guy, or do I have to?

  • Bungie said it themselves in the ViDoc. They were limited because of “Reasons.” Yes Activision gave them the money, but then made them release stories, that should have been out with Vanilla, into dlcs years later. This has been known since D1, that is why people left Bungie at the beginning of Destiny’s launch. So yes, Activision destroyed the game by trying to milk it slowly and giving us content out of order. Someone should explain it to you.

Im sorry that you're willing to believe a company that paid its own employees bonuses to lie about Martin O'donnel's behavior and performance in the months prior to his unwarranted firing. S'in the court case minutes, go on and check. Fact is that they got time, money, and a better deal not once, but twice, and Destiny is still a shitshow. I assume that you believe this new, predatory Eververse update is also Activision's doing, right? Or are you gonna look at the evidence and realise that it's only going to get worse before it even tries to get better. EDIT: I skimmed when you were talking dumb. Anyway, this line:
This has been known since D1, that is why people left Bungie at the beginning of Destiny’s launch
. It's wrong. We had that interview with Kotaku's Jason Shcrier where he talked about how BUNGiE's CEO came in to see the storyboard than Staten had his team put together for a showcase. That BUNGiE CEO told him to scrap it and give him something better, when the game was 6 months from launch. This was why Staten and most of his team quit with prejudice and why the "story" in D1 is fragmented and nonsensical. That CEO of BUNGiE's had what was left of the team splice it all back together to create what he called "A less Linear Experience fitting of an open world game on this scale."

  • Say what you will about their stuff with eververse or things they've done in the past the fact that they're going ala carte with dlc's, not requiring past dlcs, and giving the base game plus year 1 for free is already doing quite a lot of good for not just their franchise but the industry as a whole. Added on the fact that they're ditching gameplay related exclusives and doing cross saves and they've more than made up for themselves in my eyes. I don't hold grudges. I quit playing after forsaken. I'm coming back for shadowkeep. I don't care what they've done. If they can continue to do good things like this it's irrelevant to me.

  • It does feel staged. I always felt that they had people advertising for them on these forums. They support and leak things to streamers, why not do something like that on here? I don't put it past them. My opinion only, so please keep it civil. Nothing like speaking your mind about a VIDEO game, then someone attacks you personally.
