Title pretty much says it all.
I’m kind of flabbergasted how atrocious it can be from time to time. Like you hit guys, hear the loud audio cue of the shield making contact and your opponent just... sort of walks away.
I know Bungie has already looked at this issue but I think it’s still a problem worth revisiting.
-
Didn’t know it had any at all. I always felt like being black out drunk bouncing from wall to wall as I walk down a hall.
-
Yea it is completely inconsistent. Needs a major readjustment.
-
5 RepliesExcept that your shield toss hits everything, does U-turns to kill enemies, bounces off non-existent surfaces to kill people, and tracks like no other. Try using a tether than enacts after you are dead. Talk about detection issues. Wish it were a void Titan grenade....
-
In my opinion if you spam the hit button and not coordinate your strikes it will become inconsistent aim and attack .
-
Arc staff is the aame way sometimes i hit someone and they dont die
-
Sometimes problems like that are built into the engine, and it does suck. But I’ve almost never had hitreg problems (xbox one x with pretty good WiFi) so I’m not 100% sure it’s a problem on bungies end
-
9 RepliesOmfg. There is nothing wrong with it. Either you suck at using the roaming super or your dealing with someone that is lagging. I have beaten spectral blade users with that super on my titan. I did it during the last banner with iron burden on because I was working towards that damn fusion rifle. 500 kills over three days worth of BS. Literally heating my head against the wall sounded ten times better than doing that. But I used commander sentinel shield with ursa gauntlet and beat down every single spectral blade I ran across. Either practice or use a different subclass.

2 RepliesThose pole dancers sure as hell don't have that issue. They seem to have good hit registration.
-
But it's the only one that gets both melee and ranged attacks. If it had a better hit box then the shield throw needs to go.
-
5 RepliesSentinel hit reg has sucked since day one, meanwhile Arcstrider and Spectral Blades got a bus sized hit box to their attacks in order to fix the same issue....
-
10 RepliesSame with arcstrider and spectral blades. Roaming supers that rely on "melee" hits have a hard time connecting. Same with melee abilities in general
-
3 RepliesLol this super is so easy.. you dont even have to aim, just throw the shield and watch as you kill 2-4 players. Easiest super in the game. "Hit registration" is bad sometimes because if it wasnt, this super would be all you would see.
-
You gotta adjust your attack time, or run synthoceps.
-
So is everything else, your point?
-
hit registration is bad for a lot of things in this game, not just sentinel shield.
-
Oh definitely, but don’t let the hunter die hards hear you they’ll just bring up the shield throw thing. Sentinel melee isn’t going to get fixed. You gotta hit the guy 3 times hear the thud of connection then get shotgunned to death because you never hit him apparently.
-
Edited by BMFBM: 5/31/2019 12:53:02 AMHappens to me all the time. Definitely needs revisited by Bungie. I’m referring to the melee.
-
3 RepliesIf you want them to fix the Shield Bash hit detection then they should probably address the shield throw deflecting off walls and the ground for unreasonable triple kills from bad aim.
-
I'm starting to assume it's packet loss and missed/ delayed ticks on their not so world class netcode.
-
Same with SB

Edited by puppyk1sses: 5/30/2019 9:20:03 PMFunny how bad Shield is, then you have FoH autolock-crossmapping ppl
-
This thread along with every other thread about Sentinel Shield hit registration since D2 Day 1 or beta. That's how long Bungo has ignored this along with Sword hit registration.
-
Give it another year it's only almost been 2 years.
-
They work on the other classes things. This has been a problem since D2 Y1. I really hope it gets fixed before D2 is finished.
-
3 RepliesEdited by iAimnotsoGood: 5/30/2019 11:11:19 AMSpectral Blades is just as bad, and it doesn't have a tracking shield to throw or the ability to block damage.
-
Edited by MrMiizii: 5/30/2019 8:25:13 PMIt's the engine and p2p that causes the problem. I use to deal with it all the time in D1 as a blade dancer. Someone back peddling you will miss 90% of the time. Only way to really counter is to get right in their grill. Also the collision sucks in this game, hope they fix that too. Hate phasing through people when they be coming at me with a lunge attack. If they make D3 let's all pray they get a badass engine and modern servers. No more p2p shit.
