God, this community complains about ANYTHING.
Look, I'm aware Bungie isn't perfect, and some of their decisions warrant complaints (Looking at you Thunderlord...)
But reading some of the threads... this is ridiculous.
People hated the Infinite Forest because it was boring and you could just run through anything.
Bungie introduces the Haunted Forest, which fixes the "run thru it all lol" part and sorta compensates for the boredom for actual loot that can be used to buy exclusive stuff. ALL THIS FOR FREE. People call it dogshit!
People complain exotics aren't exotic and drop like blues.
Bungie changes the drop rate and adds a duplication weighing system.
People complain that exotics are a RARE DROP.
People call to nerf the Sleeper.
Sleeper is nerfed.
People ask Bungie what they were smoking.
People complain that the new raid has too many mechanics and Bungie sucks at raid design.
Two weeks later: The raid is too easy!
Bungie designs a counter to instant wins in Gambit through invasions.
People complain because invasions make the game "too herd!!"
And then, like in Breakthrough's example, Bungie asks us: "Explain what's wrong."
And the responses range from: "Nothing's wrong!" "This is bad!" "The concept is fine, but..." to "You will all fail and die the horrible torture filled deaths you deserve."
Like, ok Bungie screws up. WE GET IT. Stop complaining about every single patch or change or mechanic!
EDIT: I know the forums are just a nest for whining minorities. The people I meet in raids and or Crucible are usually fun guys that don't really give a crap.

Exotic drops aren’t rare, they’re non existent. The fact people to this day haven’t gotten a forsaken exotic and only dupes is absolutely ridiculous. People want to nerf sleepers damage which makes sense but it would ruin the weapon. I’m ok with the current state of sleeper. Of course people are saying the raid is too easy. Nobody said mechanics were hard, they said the light level was too much of a jump but since everybody is around 385-600 it’s a breeze. Gambit is a cesspool of whiners and rightfully so. Absolute terrible gamemode. The whole breakthrough systems sucks. It’s either spawn traps or people who camp spawn with shotguns. The mode shouldn’t even exist. Everything except the sleeper complaints are really prevalent.

4 RepliesHow quickly some forget that Bungie throttled XP countless times and treated everyone like sheep at the time D2 launched. Every bit of criticism is fair. If Bungie didnt treat us like dogs to begin with, maybe the community would trust them enough to make it right. Every part of this game is working as intended. Without criticism, Bungie wont be called out for the sly BS they subtly pull.

1 ReplyInfinite first was shit. Haunted first was mostly shit because many people probably didn't think that 'souls' are worthwhile drops. And their new exotic situation would be 100x better if xur sold them. Only issue with that is people would see how few exotics they added and complain that they didn't make shit for new gear. And claiming they did it for free is BS too because hey did make revenue off of eververse. I'm sure with as little was in fotl they must have at minimum broke even.

You do realize that the community isn't a single, hive mind focused entity, correct? What you see are different people with different opinions voicing them as changes are introduced. That being said have you ever seen the Futurama episode Godfellows? It's mainly about Bender floating in space when he encounters tiny organisms that live on his hull. What proceeds to happen is that he, the "Metal Lord" attempts to appease his society (us). What proceeds to happen is he approaches things too heavy handedly and in the end the tiny society nukes itself into oblivion. Afterwards he comes across a cosmic being(possibly God) that tells him "it requires a light touch". This is the real moral, Bungie approaches things with heavy hands instead of a light touch and often cranks us too far. We need more finesse from them.

Forums are the main avenues companies put out there for feedback. Yes, constant complaints gets old, but that is what they are made for.

Pretty easy for you to strawman every single one of your points since you’re the one making all the claims with no context or you know actual quotes. Yes you can find some savage animals making ridiculous complaints, but there are also a bunch of smart dedicated Destiny fans that make reasonable criticisms all the time. Any of those could be twisted out of context to sound like the claims you’re making. Basically just stop complaining other people complain. Instead just skip posts you don’t want to read because guess what: they complain in the topic.

The game could be so much bigger and better, yet it still relies on minimal content spread out over years and a pointlessly limited progression system that holds the franchise back. Not everyone is going to be pleased with changes to the game, and it is absolutely ridiculous to tell people to not complain about things they don't like.
