I give up on destiny 2 in its current state. I started with D1 and absolutely loved it. Were there a few misgivings with D1? Sure. But the game was solid entertainment and pretty well balanced.
Fast forward to D2, we have a game in shambles. One misstep after another from bungie and this is the current state.
PVE rating 6.5/10
1. Curse of osiris expansion: Endless warp gates, mercury is a boring planet, same enemies as before and really drab in content The osiris story really made little sense to me as well but we all give bungie a pass. Honestly the only reason I bought it is to be competitive in PVE and nothing else and i'm sure i just don't speak for myself
2. Nightfall: Reward system is broken but once again, we all gave bungie a pass
3. Strikes: Yawn.
PVP rating 2/10
Too many to list i'll just speed through
1. Maps. Too small, too cramped. Only a few maps are well spaced out like vostok on EDZ. A whole crucible game being played through a tiny hallway due to design is a little frustrating.
2. Supremacy. Why can't we pick the game mode???
3. Masterworks. If i'm going to spend 10 masterworks to tune a weapon, i should be able to choose what i want especially when they're hard to come by.
4. Rockets rockets rockets (heavy) everywhere. Yay. Why not call it a "go heavy" update rather than go fast? Get your rocket or shotgun or colony, move from one spawn to another and get 30 kills. No effort needed. What a shame this game has become.
5. Respawning still hasn't been fixed. On small maps, this is such a pain.
6. Exactly how does mobility, resilience and recovery work? Arbitrary stats that don't work shows sloppiness. Running a 10 mobility in a go fast update should show. Unfortunately no one can say this metric is accurate.
7. Supers: If you're going to nerf supers or make some better than others then make them a once a game use thing. I can understand mayhem; but having multiple supers in crucible, while good for my titan main, kinda sucks because it's just not what crucible used to be about.
8 Pulse rifles got a boost in the new update but aside from vigilance wing and maybe one or two others, pulses generally are underwhelming.
9.Radars removed in competitive? Why not make this a special crucible mode?
10. Repetitive maps. I got the nessus one 5x in a row.
At this point i think I'm tired of hoping and expecting. I don't want D2 to be a clone of D1 but D2 should be a good game and this is not.

Quick question: giving up on a game implies that you'll leave the game. Maybe not the community, but the game right? You played some crucible 3 hours ago. I'm assuming you've made this post after that? Because surely. You wouldn't come back to such a bad game right? I recommend returning in September with the Fall update. Till then. I hear Warframe and MH is great.

I read your post, some i agree with some i dont, i agree with masterworks, pain in the ass to get. What i want to say is tho in general and not aimed at you is why do people say the maps are too small. To me other than the two big maps in d1 first light and the other one the maps are no different. Is banner fall for example a lot bigger than endless vale, no Is the one on earth with the bridge, cant remember name, bigger than legions gulch, no Twilight gap, is it bigger than vostok, no. When you think about it the majority of maps in d2 are just as big if not bigger than d1.

2 Replies20 mins ago you were playing PvP, be a person of your word.

3 RepliesSame. It's cancer. Can't even bring myself to login. And i have xpac2 payed for... Sadly.

Did you try though? DID YOU? Did you even stalk forum posts and spam pro-Bungie propaganda like BDF senior advisor kellygreen2? Did you polish your official BDF ball gag and assless chaps? DID YOU EAT YOUR POPTARTS, DRINK YOUR ROCKSTAR, AND LISTEN TO LOST SOLS PODCAST ON THE TOXIC NATURE OF THE FORUMS AS BEING THE MAIN REASON THIS GAME SUCKS? ....I think not. Heresy!

i don't want d2 to be a clone of d1
I actually wouldn't mind that at all. Exactly like d1, but different planets/areas, lots more weapons, new enemies, qol changes, better servers, better graphics, better story. Sigh, like that'll ever happen.

1 Replywow that's a very generous rating for PvP

Edited by Deception.exe: 4/13/2018 1:42:25 PM2 out of 10 for PvP and yet you still play it, for a low score. Number 9 is a crucible mode. Edit: added another for crucible.

You come in last like 90 percent of the time in crucible with like 2-4 kills. You don’t really try to shut up.

Edited by Black_Widow503: 4/12/2018 11:23:41 PMPve is alright but could use more work but imo pvp is facked. The maps are a problem. Mobility, Resilience and recovery are underwhelming to game flow. Game flow is THE most important thing in pvp multiplayer games. Heavy is a major issue and how they did that WHOLE system is bunk. Slow primaries is a giant problem that will never be fixed, the devs are refusing to either see it as a problem (impasse) or they aren’t allowed to, by someone that doesn’t understand Destiny’s original identity within the pvp arena. Supers aren’t the problem, no strong special weapons (weapon system) to shut them down, are. Subclasses are also weird. WEIRD because of the skill trees. Now you could say just go grab heavy but the constant fight over heavy “minigame” within the entire match is tiring. That’s not game flow at all and it -blam!-s up immersion and most won’t care to stay there. Instead of pvp being hypnotic and controlled chaos, it’s utter chaos, not good. Actually people may be continuing their exodus from the pvp arena.

I agree that there is too much heavy. But I have differing opinions on a few things. Like strikes. Yes there were great D1 strikes but there’s some awesome ones in D2 such as Pyramidion or Arms Dealer. Honestly I like garden world too, first time having a cyclops as a strike boss. However, Panoptes fight was underwhelming. It felt to guides imo. We should’ve had to just normally damage Panoptes or maybe do him as Oryx (he gets away but with Osiris help, we find him and kill him in a raid). A raid in the Infinite forest would be cool. But we got water of worlds. I don’t hate the raid lair because I like the idea of s leviathan story line but at the same time I would’ve preferred a raid in the Infinite forest. Crucible maps I couldn’t agree more. I would say there were a lot of opportunities for cool raids (God-Ghaul, Panoptes). That’s my major take on this game but I’m not going to not play because of that, leviathan is still really cool because we learn more about the Cabal and also there is some sort of “inevitable ending to this galaxy/universe”.
