Should the community boycott Curse Of Osiris?

Content of the DLC aside, do we really want to send the message to Bungie and Activision that we will buy their product no matter what? With all the uproar about Microtransactions, and the deliberately rigged Experience points system I think it's a good time to put the foot down.

People won't boycott, the fanboys will play regardless even if there is a sound, ethical reason not to. Plus many people already have the DLC purchased so will just see it as wasted money. Me personally? I don't plan on playing it but may dip in if my friends are playing it. That's unlikely though as not many of them were not as stupid as me to buy the digital deluxe and having seen the game die a horrible death on our friends list, are unlikely to pay for the DLC now.

I offer a suggestion to my fellow guardians. The fanboys, and salty dogs alike. If, like me, you already bought it don't install/play it. If you're a fanboy, for the sake of the rest of the community, give it a week before you buy it. Help send a message by dragging down day1 sales. Saltydogs who didn't buy the dlc already....just don't do it. Honestly you lot need the least convincing. Speak with your $$$. Its the only way to make greedy shits hear you.

  • Lol is a boycott really needed. There are loads of pre ordered dlc’s out there. They will come back and play this game again and make it great. The forums will shine once more. All the toxic posts will go away. Everyone will be happy. Then this dark period will go down as a time that never happened. At least that’s what the muppets at Bungie are hoping.

  • A decent number of people have in effect already purchased this content so there's that, plus there will always be those that enjoy it and that's up to them. Personally I haven't bought it, I topped out at 290ish and really cba to do much more with the game as it is, the previews leave me feeling uninterested for the most part but I'll keep an ear to the ground for improvements as they are made. Anecdotally from my experience it would seem that total play time is tanking quite widely which points to deeper issues with the game. Ultimately my advice to anyone who hasn't purchased yet is hold off until all the content is on display and then make your choice, at this point though if you are feeling unsatisfied with the game I don't think Curse of Osiris is going to alter that, until we get a TTK style release I doubt we will see huge fundamental changes to the game and by that time D2 may have missed its' chance.

  • Am staying off till they revert supers and abilities from a week to charge to 25 seconds. Am also boycotting till they revert weapons back to the original. Am fed up off playing the game with 2 primary and running out of power ammo for almost all the strikes coz u only get them from yellow bars. This game is so dull, slow and caters to retards who where shite in d1 and cry everytime something killed them

  • I preordered in August. I will try it to see what changes have been made and I will try the next one to feel it out, but I have no hope for the destiny ip. It's dead. It is not living up to the vision we were sold. It has been a let down from day 1. I don't think bungie can deliver on the vision, my hope in that is long gone.

  • A lot of people enjoy the game which is good for them I'm not one bty. For anyone who has any issues with it or lingering doubts about bungie the only way to show your unhappy is by not purchasing or playing the dlc game.

sadly I already got the digital deluxe edition , but I wont even download the DLC or reinstall the game on my console , I had enough of the disrespect and laziness in this game towards the players , im just here to see how low it will still go , whenever I thought it cant get any worse it does with D2 , so im curious

  • I decided to do it personally since they introduced Destiny 2. I didn't buy D2 because i realised it will be a watered down version of Destiny . I will not buy the DLC's .. Bungie lost me as a customer. The only way to change that is they make drastical changes to management .

  • No, the game is still fun Even if it only minimal content $20 is nothing compared to the play time you will get.

    • Well if it's like D1 dlc, not buying it will lock you out of the majority of the game.

      • Bungie could very easily make micro transactions a bigger deal if they really wanted money. They could give the armor glows, like the raid armor but cooler. They could give fewer shaders out. They could stop you from getting bright dust for free. They could bring back trick sparrows as bright engrams only. They could give fancier auras. The list goes on and on. The micros is destiny 2 are pretty tame and it doesn’t take a ton of play time to get what you want. Just need luck for your item to be purchasable as you’d need luck to get your exact drop. I️ think they make sure everything is purchasable at one point in the season.

      • What uproar about microtransactions? That was EA's mess. Absolutely nothing to do with bungie.

        • Already bought the DLC with the original game. I know, stupid. But best believe anything after these two expansions is a no no for me.
