Destiny 2 just feels so hollow. Nothing to do, boring raid, bland planets. I'm really finding myself going back to D1. I think I'm not alone in this either, no content really has context. Such a shame

1 ReplyD1 server is still up...feel free to go over there. D1 has 3 DLCs worth content added... you're playing vanilla D2 with content releasing every week. Faction rally is next week ;) D2 content has context...did you not do the Exotic Missions? Did you not feel for failsafe? You're complaining about the raid as if it was so easy and boring that you completed it how many times? exactly.

7 RepliesEdited by Shadow Artiste: 9/22/2017 4:16:48 AMBy year 3, D1 was pretty good, but anyone nostalgic for Y1 D1 mustn't remember farming 105 helium to level up a gun and the strict Gally requirement for the raids, not to mention forever 29. It was a real mess.

1 ReplyYall got some rosy ass glasses on. D1 planets were a barren landscape where you checked an app for a timer to tell you something 'might' be happening in twenty minutes if you're lucky, the rest of your time was spent playing where's Wally with space plants. Then you repeated the living hell out of sepiks for 3 months. But handcannons did more damage... You're right, d2 -10/10.

3 RepliesPeople really need to stop comparing year 3 D1 to Year 1 D2

5 RepliesHollow? Did you play D1?? Where's your head at lol. Every mission has a story and context, even the raid. Which speaking of... this raid is by far the most fun I've had playing Destiny at any point in these two games existence. It's complex and requires an awesome amount of communication. To think this raid is a bust is a major slap in the face to Bungie IMO. They made a kickass raid

I have 3 300+ characters and can still run around and do public events all day enjoying myself with friends. When you logged into destiny 1 you could either A.) go into a ghost town of a patrol B.) play the worst pvp which was essentially hardcore COD because everything anybody used was instant kill C.) run extremely boring story missions and strikes for marks which I rarely had less than max D.) do raids you've been doing for 3 years. With D2 the strikes are way more interesting, crucible is less cancerous and requires actual teamwork which as a huge halo player back in the day is very nice to have back, the story was great, the adventures are actually really fun, patrol always has something to do, the raid is challenging (hence why most people bitch because they can't do it (yes I haven't done it due to work but my raid squad has and we've never had a problem with any raid including this one)), trials is ten times less cancerous, the faction rally seems like it could be really interesting, and I'm excited for the dlcs if the leaks hold true. Besides not having four raids, D2 is better in every way than D1 and will continue to surpass it

Sure there are lots of activities to do on destiny, after 3 years of content being brought forward in the last update. But let's stop being sentimental and get real. Destiny had little to do at release. People were farming the loot cave because nothing was rewarding. Nightfall rewards were pitiful, strange coins rare, strikes no better than destiny 2, the raid was full of cheeses, and crucible was dominates by auto rifles and the vex. The only way to reach max light was to do the raid. People were deleting characters to get more runs on nightfall/raid for rare chances at exotic drops. Destiny 2 has had far less issues. I would not say it is a perfect game, and I have issues with it like many others. But I am enjoying it. The raid is different, and I'm enjoying that too. I suggest before you bash the raid you actually finish it once. Nightfalls are difficult and rewarding. The raid is not the only way players can get to max power. Hopefully bungie will continue to make an effort to improve on the game.

3 RepliesPeople will always have the nostalgic feeling with D1 since the lore, enemies and the world was new and felt much more fresh then in D2. Nothing to do? Boring raid? Are you actually serious here? The -blam!- you could do in D1 in the first two weeks? Grind the -blam!-ing loot cave, do patrols and public events that gave you absolute trash, play over and over the strikes, get your balls crushed in the Sepiks Prime nightfall, get green and blue items from legendary engrams, be a forever 29, cheese Atheon and the Templar and play PVP. Thats about it... Oh and damn... How could I forget the hours spent with mindless farming of helium filaments and other materials FOR HOURS to upgrade ONE. -blam!-ING. WEAPON. Nope.

Such a shame
Man, people hated D1 because of its bland story and lack of content. Now its getting a lot of praise because D2 had less content because of no bs dlc. In D1 they were good but the vanilla game was pretty bad.

Nothing to do? You're only at 278.. with one character. Destiny was out for 3 years with multiple DLCs.. Destiny 2's planets/moons feel more alive than Destiny's destinations.. and I played the sh!t out of Destiny.

I can’t believe I agree with this post, but I must say, the best part about D2 is the story missions. Bungie did a lot of things right in D2, no cool down for sprinting, not kicking me out of my menu every 10 seconds, fast travel. They hit so much right but then dropped the ball for things to do after light level 265. Public events aren’t new but still fun to do. Adventures is where they dropped the ball. They could’ve done SO MUCH MORE with adventures. Secret loot, specific loot( weapons and armor). I mean they really could’ve made this so much more enjoyable. Lost sectors, again could’ve made loot specific (weapons and armor) the chance to increase light level. Now it’s just meh. I do like the cayde-6 maps which was a nice touch. I mean bungie hit A LOT RIGHT but they dropped the ball on a lot of things that could’ve added to the fun (as in a purpose). Oh well, their game, their rules. What do we know anyways? They’re the AAA game developer and we’re just regular ol gamers. We don’t know anything about video games and what we like and what works. I can only hope that in the up coming DLC’S that they will implement some FUN in this game. There is still time to salvage what they dropped the ball on. Spice it up a little bit. I’m truly hoping that the future is bright, if not, oh well. Nothing I can do to change it.

6 RepliesYeah because who misses farming for motes and materials to upgrade gear..... all day long! No Ty! You can't please everyone. Be patient. They time release things because they know how we burn through content. You'll survive!!!

I only think PvP is better in D1 other than that I think D2 is way better and bigger than Y1 D1

Year 1 destiny is really nostalgic for me but destiny 2 is far better in my opinion.

I try to hop on and play by myself. I find myself playing other games if no one is on. Only fun part of the game is the raid.
