Gear decrypts/drops 5-8 lower
So every single engram I get (legendary or exotic) decrypt at 5-8 light levels lower than my level. Removed all +5 mods from everything, im currently at 284 light with no mods. turned in 5 legendary and an exotic and every one of them was 278. All npc's, factions and vendors give 278 gear as well. literally everything in the game gives me 278 gear.
And edit: I'm now 292 with mods and everything is still at 278 lol this game is broken currently.
SINCE IT SEEMS HALF THE COMMUNITY CAN'T READ OR UNDERSTAND SIMPLE WORDING LIKE LITTLE SCHOOL GIRLS LET ME REPHRASE THIS FOR YOU.
i understand that regular drops will be lower. I GET IT. exotics, powerful gear and milestones SHOULD NOT BE DROPPING AT 278 when even my lowest gear is 282 WITHOUT MODS.
everything was fine until the maintenance this week. since then all rewards/drops/engrams seem broken.
please dont say its the second char. no its not. i have all 3. 2 were unplayed until yesterday. they weren't affecting my drops last week when i was pushing 275+ so just stop with the bullshit please.
Update: played all day Lol it's for testing purposes. Drops are still scaling right on my second char. Just got a 292 exotic drop primary. Going to test my main char tomorrow, to see if somethings changed.
Update 2. STILL on my Warlock (2nd char.) Deleted my carry over hunter that was at 100. So far so good. Scaling correctly at 280. Seeing blues at 274-275 and legendary/exotic 283+

I've been having same issue for past week. Stuck at 284 while getting over 5 exotic and couple luminous engrams under my current power. Absolutely no way for me to progress. I suggest everyone hold off on turning in their milestone rewards until they get this fixed (If they ever acknowledge the problem).With this type of customer service, all we can do is recommend to our friends not to spend their hard earned money on a game with no customer support. I'm a year one beta player, and invested over $100 in this years game. Sad to go out like this.

1 ReplyI have seen many different posts about this issue and I have even posted my own thread about it. I have been at 296 all week getting luminous engrams and legendary engrams from even the raid that have not gone over 284. How am I supposed to progress until you fix this bungie. When I preview the engrams they say they will drop 296-297 but when I decrypt it I actually get 284. I wasted a whole week grinding two characters to not get a single piece of useful gear. Give us an answer Bungie.

I'm 274, I played for 8 hours yesterday. I got a ton of legendaries, not a single one over 266. I got 3 exotic engrams all 271. I did not go up a single point. Really no incentive to keep playing.

I was having the same problem on a second hunter then made a titan and it went OK. I'm thinking they patched something with making duplicate classes

Seriously learn to read, the problem is EXOTICS and MILESTONES are dropping at the same level as blues and legendary. It's broken. Then throw in the missing clan engrams and this game will be bleeding players by monday.

I'm constantly getting shit on with gear drops. exotics, luminous engrams continuously drop at lower light. I play quite a bit and feel like I should be a lot higher than i am. I have friends that play way less than me, and are much higher light, RNG is such BS.

2 RepliesI ground my titan for 3 days and bearly made it to 282. All engrams I am getting drop at 273. It's getting to the point I am about to lose it and make so really nasty phone calls to some people who don't really want to hear from me.

I have this exact same problem, everything is dropping at 267 for my 273 warlock, making it hard to level up. I don't have that problem with either of my other characters.

Having this problem on my warlock, 292ish. My lowest piece of gear is my chart at 284(289 with mod) dozens of pubs and a few nightfalls, not one peice above 284, even some 283. I ran one nightfall on my 293 hunter, both blue drops were 285 and 286 both upgrades for the gear slots. Not sure why the glitch is affecting my warlock. I have no "powerful gear" rewards to try until reset[

I had the same issue all night last night for several hours. I started the night at 279 and ended at 281 (with mods). No matter what the item or engram that dropped, or where I got it from, they ALL dropped at 272. Rares and legendaries were all 272. I had one exotic drop. It was a 277, which is essentially the same as a 272. There is literally no possible way for me to progress beyond 281 at this point while everything is dropping at 272. I am assuming this will not be resolved today, so I'll wait until sometime during the week to even attempt to play again. So frustrating!

If wearing or using exotics then those auto come with mods and may be boosting you as well. Just fyi. Being you cant remove the mods from exotics.

There's some things confusing me currently about this. One is the vendors and drops at 271, whereas I am 281 max (all with mods). Is this correct? It took 4 hours to get 2 exotics that helped a little, everything else at 271, or 276 if it landed with a mod. They were (and still are) at 271 since I was mid 270s, bit confusing. Exotics - is there a proper rule for what they drop at comparative to current level? Or also widely variable?

Same here. Got to lvl. 280 on Friday, and I quickly jumped to 284 with mods. However, all loot I receive since then (blue or legendary drops, or from reputation) is 274. I just got an exotic, that decrypted into a 284 item. Aren't exotics supposed to drop with a higher level, always? Looks like the game is for some reason calculating a base power level of 274 for my character. Looks like a bug. A giant one.

Having the same problem. I'm 282, my MIDA dropped at 293 (with mod) but now all my exotics won't drop higher than 272. Pissed as -blam!-. Thanks for the 'maintenance' Bungo 🙃🙃🙃

1 ReplySame here All my luminous and exotics drop well below my power level. I do have duplicate classes but I do not believe that is the reason for the lower drop rates. Other people do not have duplicate classes and it's affecting them as well. It's on Bungies side. Please respond to us. Without progression the game becomes less meaningful.
