So sad.. Destiny 1 had it's issues but 4v4 has destroyed solo q. The idea of going this direction without solo q is unreal. They Created an extremely boring walk around in teams only fights. I get the git gud bs... Who in their right mind think destiny can build a competitive PvP with 3 or even 9 subclasses. They should have left it what it was at least we knew what we were getting.
I will give it another couple of hrs but so far it seems on the surface and after some matches they could not have made it any worse. I can't even select a match mode after 3 years of destiny? Nice progress. Hopefully, I'm wrong ....

Edited by Kuzie: 9/16/2017 4:30:00 AMI'm solo player and I can drop a 2.9 to a 19.00 kd even with randoms. No more ability spam = better gunskill overall. gunfights are team based now. PvP players are doing just fine in this new environment. It sounds to me like you are going off solo and trying to lone Wolf it... Lol good luck with that!
-
3 RepliesLol, aside from no rumble and random game types it's much more fun. Abilities are used as a primer or finisher but you can't crutch on them to replace gunskill. Map design and loadout prohibits special weapon crutches and supers are no longer an easy button. No more -blam!-ing ridiculous artifacts. Weapons work in their intended roles and there is actually some weapon diversity. But everyone can't be pleased so sorry you don't enjoy it.
-
3 RepliesYou're exaggerating heavily. I've been doing extremely well solo. People see a team of 4 as a fireteam in a clan and expect God Tier players every time. That is grade A cynicism. It can't just be 4 casual friends enjoying PvP? I've steamrolled plenty of fireteams so far playing with randoms.
-
1 ReplyPvp is better. Stay with your team, don't try to lone wolf.
-
4 RepliesCan't wait for you and your ilk to nerf my hard earned raid gear! :) I loathe and detest how much PvP shackles this games true potential. How long till you PvP (insert ban worthy insult) people send a game wide, weopon wide nerfnado our way again? My money is before the months out.
-
4 RepliesD2 PVP on Beta looked bad. Glad I didnt buy.
-
It's better than before. It rewards gunskill and isn't ability spammer 101
-
Crucible is absolute rubbish
-
Seems a very odd choice on Bungie's part. The only things that make sense are they are really struggling with new ideas for additions later on for PVP and just going to add back the stuff they took away. Or they had to rush the game and just ran out of time to release a complete game.
-
I don't know why they would remove the choice of game modes... That blows my mind
-
1 ReplyIt will hold you back. If you feel negative towards the crucible, maybe try a different approach. study it like a noob. we all have to adapt. Even veterans, after 3 years of muscle memory, instinct and countless scenarios. You cant force it. It will only limit your capability to improve if you don't like what you're doing.. and it will leave you frustrated. If that occurs just let it sit for a while, there's enough content to enjoy. on a side note: FCK SUPREMACY.
-
At least the matchmaking is really good for PvP.. the spawn times seem solid also. What an epic failure.
-
It's a different pace of playing, and you have to change your habits. I was a 1.2 or so player in D1, and my average is 0.97 right now. When I started D2 pvp it was really lopsided a lot of matches, but SBM is already kicking in and all of yesterday queuing solo all out matches were very even. I'm finding it a good game experience so far. My only gripe is how often I get streaks of supremacy, which I really don't enjoy :D

Edited by Noir Renard: 9/15/2017 12:58:54 AM... what is this post flaiming? Selection of game mode, subclasses or solo que? That aside I can assure you I solo que 90% of the time. Two things normally happen, we get matched aginsted a 4 man party and they win as they should. Or its a mix up of players in no party's and I pray to the Lord's above my teammates aren't retarded. Most of the time im MVP on my team casual or competitive, cause I know how to aim which leads to me winning most 1v1s. If anything hate how the team orientation is forced upon us.
-
1 ReplyYou've had my initial reaction, but for some strange reason I'm on a positive KD for the first time in Destiny. Only 1.1 mind, but I averaged out at 0.8 in D1. If you're a strictly solo player, stick to Quickplay. I find it the same as D1, just smaller maps and teams. Although you are a bit stretched in Control with only 4 players. Grab 2 points with 2 players each, ignore the 3rd so you know where the enemy team spawns. Competitive is supposed to be just that. Find a team, or just play smarter. Survival is in the name. It's as much about staying alive as getting kills. Dont rush around corners and through doors, break off from fights youre not winning, etc. Countdown... all 4 rush one target to plant, split into 2s to defend. Plus... the rewards are good. I was having such a bad match of Survival I was on the verge of quitting. Stuck it out with gritted teeth...exotic engram at match end!

3 RepliesPVP seems good so far, all you can ask for is it to be balanced quite well (not perfectly) but everything is definitely usable. Other than that don't come complaining about how people play and choose to use what they're given. That's just the game, people should use teamwork.
-
2 RepliesIf this is terrible for you, go back to icebreaker-wormwood-hand-cannon-ability-spam the game, commonly referred to as d1. This is so much better, all abilities and one-shot weapons have been put in check as they should have in d1. People need too rely on gun skill and their teammates which is a good change in a game where you have to work with other people to accomplish objectives
-
1 ReplySo what you are saying is... That you want crutches in destiny 2 since you arent good?
-
3 RepliesReading all the comments, I just don't get a lot of what you guys are talking about. I play crucible a decent amount but would still consider myself a PVE player and whenever I que solo, I still break a 2.0 KD and even just played one match yesterday solo where I got a 3.0. I was using an origin story auto rifle for up close, skyburners oath scout rifle for distance and a tarantula. No Mida multi or mini. The PvP in d2 (at least the competitive playlist) is the most fun I've had in crucible in a long time.

I could agree 100%!!!! PVP is extremely watered down now, and seems most of my deaths are teamshot. I solo que 90% of my matches to find myself consistantly in a 3v4. People always backing out. Cant find anyone untill you run into a group holding hands with mita. Sentinel has trash hit reg!! Hit enemy twice with the shield in my super and they still dont take damage! This was in the beta and never fixed, in d1 trash dancer had the same exact issue which was never fixed. Also while shooting an AR, why do hit numbers pop up when target is well behind cover? Im also getting people melee me AFTER i already hit a killing blow, then it equals in a trade! Wtf is that?! How could you possibly trade? This game hasnt gotten any better, IMO, its extremely worse. Titan went to a warlock speed, they took away skating. 2 primary weapons? Wth?! What happened to special? Oh yea you took that away in d1! Hah. So now you got 3 team mates fighting for power ammo wile your taking on the whole team. Sorry for the story, but gheez wheres the skill gap!? I could go on and on! And yes i play mostly PVP and have well over 1k hrs invested in Destiny. I will be spending MUCH less time now its not a fun experience. No 6v6? Only 2 game modes? What did i pay for? Yea dont remind me. Also why cant you stay with the basic kill/death? You cant see your KD after a match. Why cant you use basic tech and implement PING on the roster? I know my ping, but why cant i see others? Many many years ago this tech was out. Have you not done research?

Comments below are well written and all valid...Solo pvp is a joke

10 RepliesFirst, lets start with no grenade play because they're underpowered and you get one every 5 min basically. Next, no movement. Everybody is huddled up with scouts and autos and pulses (because HCs suck) just trading shots at the other group of 4 until someone dies. Nobody is pulling in air shots, skating, or shade stepping. The game feels dumbed down. Thirdly, there is no skill gap anymore. Destiny was unique in the fact that if you were good you could 1v3 a team. Instead now we catered to bad players by destroying the gap. Goodbye 1v3s, montages, and watching lumi go off with a shotty or kraftyy going off with a sniper. Last, i cant stress it enough...YOU SCREWED UP BY REMOVING SPECIAL AMMO!!! How can you tell me a shottgun or sniper is equivilant to a rocket launcher?? One takes skill and one doesn't. It should be a no brainer. Can't believe I wasted 60 bucks on this trash. Fix your game bungo...spread the skill gap and force bad players to get good. For those that say shotgunning took no skill: using a shotgun (competitively) took skill. Im talking about elim and trials....using a shotgun took skill because the person on the other team had one as Well and there is a skill gap with how crafty you can get with a shotgun. These are the reasons why luminosity would destroy with a shotgun in trials even though everyone on the other team had one aswell. I used to make plays with a shotgun that would out perform other peoples skill with a shotgun. And sometimes they would play me. Skill gap comes from having multiple things in your arsenal and mastering them all, not just sitting back with one primary and trading shots. In d1 you had to slide around corners because of snipers, stay in good positioning because of being rushed by shotguns, and watch tight corridors because of grenade play. In d2 you literally just step out with a primary and trade shots like some call of duty bs. This years pvp feels really bad...and before you say get good go look at my stats. My kd is probably stupid high because this "pvp" is so easy with no individual skill play. In d1 towards the end (before sticky and sidearm meta) i was avging a 1.7 kd in trials doing carries because i was an all around good player. D2 pvp is wack. P.S. 4v4 is a stupid idea for trials, 3v3 was the perfect number.
-
I liked pvp in d1 okay, it was fun. D2 pvp is trash. Totally ruined it.
-
Team shot = win every time.
-
1 ReplySolo pvp is frustrating as hell. I get destroyed by teamfire. Did a couple of fireteam matches with my clan. All bad pvp players and we stomped the crap out of our opponents. The gap is just to big.
-
Yeah crucible is god awful, they definitely didn't think it through at all lol.
