Based on the menus it looks like...
...we're going to be able to use mods to switch the element of our weapons.
...we're going to be able to use shaders on our weapons and ship.
2 things people have been asking for in Destiny for ages, but no everything is terrible and Bungie never listens to us, that's the big takeaway from all this.
EDIT 1: Slugger4489 brought up some more.
Fast travel points, not having to go to orbit between every jump, and guaranteed public events too
EDIT 2: It seems a lot of people here don't understand the point I'm trying to get at. I'm not making any statement about how good or bad I think Destiny 2 will be and I'm not saying people shouldn't voice their concerns. This post is targeted at a very specific mentality that many forum users have held for a long time now and which has been a major contributing factor to these forums becoming as toxic as they are.
This idea that Bungie never listens to us and doesn't care about what we think has to stop. There is so much evidence that they do. Just to name a few things these forums asked for that we got:
- Multiple vault size increases.
- Equitable melee weapons.
- Ways of making old content relevant again (infusion, revamped raids, etc.).
- Private PvP.
- A freaking giant Shank boss. (honestly who would've thought they'd take that one seriously?)
and there has been so much more. But time and time again in the wake of problems impacting the game everyone seems to ignore the positive and pretends that everything is awful and there's no chance for improvement and Bungie is intentionally trying to ruin the game for us and bla blabla blabla.
All I wanted to do was put a spotlight on a couple things I thought Bungie did right by this community in the hopes that maybe some people would see that there are some positive things to talk about, that's all.

We all talked about this like a week ago when we first learned about it.
-
20 RepliesHonestly does it even matter what colour your gun or ship is. As for the changing burn mod sure it would be grand but that's if it happens.
-
36 RepliesNew weapon system is a deal breaker for me, no matter what they do.
-
14 RepliesDo you not know what a beta is for? It's to criticize a game to let Bungie know what needs changes
-
I think people are more concerned about actual gameplay then skins
-
I talk about important things. Not a crap game like D2
-
Rather have a proper weapon loadout system, not two primaries and a weak "power weapon". Couldn't care less about cosmetic shite either..... Swapping elemental damage? On fixed stat weapons becomes pointless anyway, in fact it's another thing that reduces the loot chase....
-
Oh great I can put a pretty skin on my 2nd primary weapon yeahhhhhh
-
3 RepliesWhat is the point of 2 primaries? Really? Was it too hard to just switch guns in D1?
-
I'd like to see shaders for individual armor pieces. I hope it's not the same as Destiny 1 where 1 shader = 1 set color. It barely gives any customization. Even better, they could allow for 3 shaders per armor piece that color different parts of it. But again, Bungie has been doing the minimum for Destiny for 3 years now, so I wouldn't expect any more than a "slap a color here, there, customization"

5 RepliesBecause the only worthwhile feedback, is negative feedback. We all know the 1000 people complaining, are the obvious majority of destiny's millions of players.
-
Also looks like you will be able to put perk mods on your armor so you can decide what your armor has on it
-
So much this
-
yep, people aren't being constructive and it's very frustrating. What they don't realise is that's what ruined d1 pvp, people just complaining

2 RepliesThe IGN exploration vid has a Vanguard colored Nightshade. Faction gun shaders?
