I think it would have been reasonable to balance around matador and clever dragon in terms of their consistency and reliability. The reason those guns are so heavily used is because they feel reliable and powerful. All specials and primaries should feel as good as those guns. If that were the case I think it would be a nice blend between crazy year one lethality and the slower pace game play that we have now. I don't think nerfing (yet again) was the right approach.

2 RepliesI agree. Wouldn't it be amazing to have a large pool of weapons to chose from, all of which are viable. All this update will do is create a new meta that will run into the same problem a month down the line.

3 RepliesThis post is awesome. Clever dragon is a beast of a primary, and I wish all primaries were as consistent and viable as it.

3 RepliesXD the nerf was a well deserved one. Get over it and use a weapon that takes skill. <3
-
I agree completely.

I agree this was to far. Idk if you played year 1 but remember how deadly primary weapons were, secondary weapons didn't matter as much. P.S. I'm not counting felwinters

I am glad they nerfed matador 64 I have one and it feels so OP clever dragon could have use a slight nerf but nothing more then that

3 RepliesThis is so much closer to a balance than any "adjustment" before it. Last year it would have been a complete destruction of both classes of weapons, nevermind archetypes. Folks are losing it over 2 frames of gameplay to the high rof pulse rifles TTK, and having to ADS with shotguns. But hey, low rof pulses will now more consistently two burst, and they'll fire faster.

So you mean they had no downsides....that was the problem

1 ReplyLet's be honest, hcr on clever is out of hand. Lower that a bit and the range a bit but leave the mag the same size. Lower the matador range a bit and the world would be a better place. I'm saying this as a shotgunner.

Edited by Fujimoose: 2/9/2017 10:51:16 PMAre we even sure that the clever dragon, grasp archetype is going to be useless? I'd wait and see how it plays out before jumping to conclusions. Remember the people testing the game out weren't exactly good. I don't necessarily agree with what was done but still something needed to be done. Shotguns didn't really get nerfed. They were changed a bit on how to use them. Let's be honest here though there were times where they got outrageous kills. Their range was ok but I've noticed that they hit well when a guardian wasn't exactly in the sights. It's happened to me a few times where my character would be close to anothers peripheral vision, not exactly in the way of the spread, but still died in one shot. I get that shotguns have a spread but more than half my body was out of the way. It would have been acceptable to have gotten some sort of hit but not a OHK. It didn't happen a lot but it still happened. It wasn't a huge deal to me except that fusion rifles can't be off even slightly or they lose their chance for a OHK. Most of the shotgun deaths weren't questionable. I would have been fine with shotguns being left alone as well as changing them up a bit. But that's my opinion. I could have be wrong and the guys were lagging. So when it appeared to me that I wasn't directly in the line of fire, I could have very well been. That's another reason why I didn't think much it.

They didn't nerf matador though.

No... they definitely deserved it.

I honestly mean that and I am glad they got nerfed, this was the worse meta Destiny has seen.

1 Replythey didn't nerf them. they brought them in line on how they should be used. not mapping people with Mapador and spamming bullets with clever. people that did that (probably you) have no skill. time to bring you out of your meta-shell
-
Bump. But, you know, that's too simple and logical for them.
