[b]Making a previous comment into a thread (with some edits), because someone suggested I do so:[/b] *Implies we have no right to complain about RNG factor of the quest (i.e. the only difficult part) because in the Year 1 variant, dying pushed you back a bit* *Doesn't take into consideration that actually obtaining the quest was fairly doable as ALL bounties had the potential to get you an Exotic bounty, and that you'd get a choice of three bounties every time it dropped.* Would like to remind you that to get the thorn quest this time around, you have 4 chances on each character per week. Prior to this, you had 12 chances each character per day, and that's only counting the ones from the regular dude in the Tower. I don't give a flying f*ck if the year 1 variant (that I also completed, fyi) was more difficult or not, nothing matters in the slightest if the quest never drops for you in the first place. Not dying in the crucible was something you could practice. RNG is just RNG, there's nothing skill-related about it, so it can't be practiced. [b]To summarise:[/b] [b]Now (bounties from Shiro):[/b] 12 chances a week. 4 bounties per character. [b]Then (only counting regular bounties from robot in tower):[/b] 12 chances....per [i]day[/i], with each character... Assuming you did every bounty with every character in that week, you had 252 chances to get an Exotic Bounty to drop. When it did, you had three to choose from. If the Thorn one wasn't among them, you chose one at random, either completed or destroyed it, and then simply tried again. The drop rate for this quest is simply way too f*cking low. Luck shouldn't be the deciding factor for things like this, so I deem the fact that the drop rate is this low absolute f*cking bullsh*t, and I'm fairly certain many others will agree.
