Rose ornament for Thorn
Wouldn't that be cool?
Edit: Damn you lore folks are salty. Way to take my "Wouldn't that be neat" post and turn it into a dream crusher. Bet you lot are real fun at parties. The fact that some of you don't understand a simple cosmetic change can be done without somehow "damaging" your precious lore is a little unsettling. The ornament wouldn't somehow make the gun any different practically or in the lore, it would just change how it looks. I didn't think about it that much, and I'm sure your casual destiny player wouldn't either. It's just a skin mate, calm down. And no, arguing that point doesn't make us mentally disabled. [i]Just everyone simmer down and get over yourselves.[/i]
Besides, aren't there more pressing issues to complain about? The new Meta or other actual lore inconsistencies in game that are actual stated or implied or... well... real?

Im a Dredgen Yor lore enthusiast. So i'd like to say to every single person complaining that this idea fits perfectly with the lore. Remember Dredgen yor once thought of it as a rose, and only changed his perspective once he was completely taken over by the dark. So while the weapon never underwent a physical apperance change it did in Dredgen's mind. So who is to say he never saw Thorn in a different light. Take real life for example, once you notice something about an object that you never knew, you tend to view it in a completely different light. Who is to say Dredgen didn't do the same? Just like our guardian could if this ornament was added. We could see what Dredgen saw in his mind, before the dark completely took hold. Plus by doing so we could get a small hint towards his character and identity before his change.

1 ReplyBetter yet, just put Rose in the game. Exotic perk, Mark of Purity. Hits with the weapon remove all buffs, enemies with buffs take significantly more damage.

3 RepliesLeave it to the forums to complain about weapon skins. So what's the lore behind changing Dinklebot to Nolanbot? What's the lore behind the unnecessary soccer ball and our lord and savior, the Purple Ball? What's the lore behind changing real-world currency into silver and silver dust? It's just a weapon skin, you won't have to use it. If it bothers you that much, then just send a 1000-word essay over messages to the guy who killed you with it in Crucible stating why that Kill didn't count because it was with Thorn, not Rose. That'll show those fools what's what.

It makes perfect sense, a Rose ornament would be absolutely awesome and im curious to see how the thorn looked before being thorn haha :)

I like the lore. But I also love the idea of having a rose ornament for the thorn. I always wondered what it looked like before it was corrupted.
