If you are having this issue please bump and leave a comment this is simply to let bungie know how many people are being affected.
UPDATE: After talking to most everyone in the forums I have found out that most everyone having this issue have bought all previous DLC and purchased the standalone ROI add-on instead of Destiny the Collection. This is a big factor in the issue at hand. (Sending SOS signals to Bungie..)
UPDATE 2: I am hearing from a couple different people that if your service provider is MEDIACOM then you could be having issues downloading stuff from psn servers. Does anyone else run MEDIACOM? (that is my service provider)
UPDATE 3: I want to thank everyone for there input every little clue will help us diagnose the problem.
UPDATE 4: Ok so this seems to be isolated with MEDIACOM's service. This sounds crazy but if we all call MEDIACOM our collective inquiry may get a solution to this network issue.
UPDATE 5: Dawn of the 4th day without Destiny, Not heard a whole lot on a game plan or anything on either side. There are confirmed reports of people using Verizon and ATandT hotspots also confirmed on Comcast ISP, if you have access to any of those options I would try them out. Also feel free to make friends in this time of crisis and corruption. If anyone has found anything else let me know, ill be searching most of the day today (updated 9/22)
UPDATE 6: So I have heard multiple times that you need to wipe the console or your HDD is messed up, these are all false forms of trying to diagnose a problem in there networking. Nothing is wrong with your console people its how your ISP communicates with PSN. Please just try another ISP I can confirm that it is in fact Mediacoms connection or a combination of Console updates not working with the Application updates regardless my brothers Frontier connection is getting farther then mine ever did. Check back later to find out if it downloads successfully (should be around 6hrs from now slow connection speed).
UPDATE 7: Just got off the phone with Sony (7th time) the rep I spoke to a couple days ago gave me a list of port numbers to activate so I opened the ports no big deal didn't see any change. The rep I just spoke with today informed me that the other rep gave me the wrong port numbers she also stated that these new port numbers should work 100% if not then they will escalate it to there engineering team. The list of port numbers are (She said you have to have all ports open for it to work):
TCP - 80, 443, 465, 993, 3478, 3479, 3480, 5223, 8080, 9293, 10050, 10051, 10040-10060
UDP - 2053, 3478, 3479, 3658, 6000-7000, 9304, 9296, 9297, 9303, 10070, 50000-60000
Try these out and tell me if they work, I am going to let my download finish on FRONTIER ISP but please let me know if you have any success with these. (Also take note of your IP address when you get these set up you need to make a custom connection for them to be active)
UPDATE 8: JUST HAD A BREAKTHROUGH! Ok so I used my brothers Frontier ISP to start my download when I went back to check on it I seen that it was going to take 66hrs to install (he runs 800kb : <) so I ended up pausing the download at 2gb took my console home to just trouble shoot again I used my smaller ethernet cable its a cat6 ran that to my ps4 and resumed the download at my place (60mb per second) I figured it would give me an error but it is chugging along got about 5 hours left! If this works Im going to freak out. Also on another smaller note I have contacted Sony one last time in a ditch effort to pull information out of them. I ended up escalating it to there engineering sector they are calling Bungie and told me to contact them in about 3 hours to hear the results, I stressed to Sony how we don't really have a dedicated customer support on Bungie's site so the lady said they would contact them for us. I will make the call later if others are still having issues I WANT EVERYONE TO BE ABLE TO PLAY AND NOT FEEL SO HOPELESS ABOUT THIS ISSUE CAUSE WE ARE NOT HEARING A GAME PLAN!
UPDATE 9: I played last night so it is a definite confirm on the ISP jumping method, just pay close attention to where your download freezes (this is a huge factor). Use your alternate form of internet to jump passed those points then switch to your original ISP. Some of the points that most people run into are the 207.5mb and 17gb ranges. Just stick with it you will be able to play if you run this method. I wish everyone luck and hopefully we get to play sometime.
PS I would like to add a lot of people from this thread as friends on PS4, just in case we have another issue like this we can work together again to find a solution. (and to beat raids haha) I just messed with my privacy settings you should be able to add me now, THANKS ALL!
PSS Hey Bungie can I have a job as customer support lol but for real though : >

5 RepliesI'm glad the hot spot switch trick worked for some people. I tried it twice, once to 2GB and once to 1GB and when I switch back it doesn't even try to download any more. Any ideas?
-
I'm having this problem as well on Xbox one
-
1 Replyi start my hotspot do like half a gig because i dont have much data....switch back to mediacom and it starts over and goes corrupt....-blam!-ing dumb man
-
So I started on consolidated. Switched to mediacom halfway through. Gtg. Thanks all for help.

20 RepliesEdited by phantom.damage: 9/23/2016 3:08:00 AMI'm currently using my hotspot to download 2GB of the 31GB download. I'm at about 750MB right now which is a lot farther than the 23.53 or 23.6 I usually get to before it's corrupted. Once at 2GB, I'm going to pause the download and switch back to my Ethernet connection and see what happens. I'll post here and let everyone know! UPDATE: download got to 1.1GB on my hotspot before it basically froze for 5 minutes. I've switched back to my LAN connection after pausing the download. So far it's preparing to download, 10%. Here's to hoping! UPDATE # 2: download appears to be working! I did freeze at 23.53 like usual, but it's continuing on. If this fails and I wasted 1GB of data, well, let's just say my PS4 may not be in working order anymore. UPDATE #4(check the replies for #3): As of now my download is still going. Due to internet issues it's going very slow, but it's going. I will check again before work in the morning and post an update shortly after.

1 ReplyOk update for everybody. When my update attempts to download it freezes at 23.53%. So what i have done is i turned on my personal hotspot and let it download through my personal hotspot until the download surpassed 23.53% and just to be safe i let it get to 1 gig, once it got well over the freeszing point i paused the update. I quickly turned off my personal hotspot and switched over to my regular wifi then i un-paused the update and it installed fine. So i believe once you get it past your freezing point you should be good to run it on regular wifi. Hope that helps and good luck everybody!

Edited by PoSSuM_307: 9/23/2016 9:19:20 AMMy son and I took our PS4's to one of his friends homes and we were able to get the update done. Took the PS4's home and now we are able to play. Once home had another download fail for another game. One question though, will we be locked again if Destiny has another update? Even though we bypassed this issue now it seems to me that we'll have the same issue upon next update. We also found that once it started that taking the disc out of the system helped it to proceed as it froze at the 23mb spot. Once the disc came out it took off.

Thank you Vault for helping us all troubleshoot this problem. Much appreciated.

17 RepliesI am using mediacom, preordered from gamestop (so I got the digital code from the store), I was having issues installing the data due to the corrupted data issue. I tried uninstalling all of my game data just to try that and I can get about 17 of the 31 gig downloaded before the download just stops and then gives me a "can't download file" error I have tried this multiple times and no luck on getting past it. I will stress this however the download isn't freezing it is appearing to encounter a file it just doesn't want to download as everything is running just fine up until it gets to the same point and then the amount downloaded and total gigs just disappears and then in about five minutes waiting it gives out the error message.

8 RepliesEdited by Misaki Satsuki: 9/23/2016 12:06:38 PMWow I'm so sad. I tried again to download Destiny again through my AT&T phone using it as a Hotspot and it was working but I got the bright idea to pause it and switch over to my parents Mediacom after it hit 600+ and it corrupted it. So now I'm initionalizing my ps4 and I'll try again with my phone and download all 48.515 gigs through it than hook to there internet.

So the port forwarding doesn't seem to work for me at all. (coupled with the fact you can't port forward to multiple ps4s. Have we heard anything at all from sony about if they are tracking this issue down?
-
Everyone, The hot spot thing does work. I set my Verizon hotspot up last night on my phone before going to bed. Woke up and had 7gbs downloaded. Probably way more than I needed but I then switched to my mediacom wifi and it kept going. Im currently at 23GB and still going strong. If you have the data to spare try this and let's all get out there! Ps. I did hear of some having another corrupt data issue around the 17gb mark. I didn't have this happen. So I'm not sure if that's an isolated issue or what. Good luck everyone
-
1 ReplySo I just used my hot spot to download the first 2GB of the full game then put it in rest mode with mediacom on came back and my game was downloaded I think the stale at 207 something MB is causing the corruption later on might try starting the download on a different ISP

4 RepliesI F***ED IT UP FOR MY BOYFRIEND- Both my boyfriend and I play Destiny. I purchased a hard copy of the game and he bought his version digitally. We both have our own PS4 but he has a larger TV. When he was at work on day #2 ROI I signed on with my username on his PS4 I was prompted to insert my disc (since I bought the disc and didn't order it digitally). However, when I inserted the disc back into my own system to play the game worked fine for me. When he started his application without a disc would not work even though it was purchased digitally. So we've delete the disc data and re-download from the Playstation Store. Finally 2 days later after hours of phone calls/internet chat and so much troubleshooting I feel like getting sick we are both starting to relax after finding this forum...However, we do not have the option to try the IPS swap!!! I'm just relieved that we are not alone in this after all:/

3 RepliesI can confirm a solution. Started the download with my mobile hotspot. Went a gig or two in. Paused and went back to Mediacom internet until I hit the 16 gig mark, paused again, went back to mobile until I got past the point it froze at and went back to Mediacom internet. I am currently playing Rise of Iron as we speak.
-
Btw I just went to Walmart to check on a PS+ card cause my subscription runs out in 10 hours and a away my 50 foot cable and checked and it is a cat6
-
Does anyone here happen to know the IP and ports on sony's end? Maybe we can do some testing to see if there is an issues between here and there.
-
7 RepliesI'm glad most people are getting this fixed. Unfortunately for the rest of us that means there will be a lot less people complaining, and it will take even longer to get a real fix. If at all.
-
2 RepliesTonight I tried to use Frontier isp to download the game again (starting from scratch since I deleted it from my console). Still didn't work. Stopped at the same point (207.5 mb) as Mediacom.
-
16 RepliesIs the error where everyone is redownloading ver 1.28 even though they have Rise of Iron digitally purchased? I'm getting the same error in Australia... and it's not the same ISP, is redownloading the whole 31gb the only known solution? I can't trick the PS4 into finding all the DLC's I already have on the console?
-
4 RepliesWasn't sure about the port forwarding so just decided that I would try the hotspot this morning. So far it's downloading farther than it has done yet. Fingers crossed. I'll try to swap back over to my regular internet once it gets a ways in.
-
19 Repliesnotice no one from xbox is having this issue.. what does that tell u about ps.. lol
-
F*** Bungie. This should've been more than fixed by now
-
My patch still gets stuck even if i use a hotspot this is absolute bs..bungie can seem to get their shit together
-
2 RepliesDo you think we can get a refund for past DLC since we can't even play the game? Or how does that work?
