A buddy and I decided to break this game out of its dusty case and have a fun break from destiny by starting new characters in BL2.
After killing a few bonerfarts, I think it's pretty clear.
Destiny is not as good as borderlands,
Borderlands is definitely not short on content, which is what I look for most in a game.
So here I am contemplating putting down destiny until ROI, hoping to crank out an OP8 character before the end of September.
Does anybody else agree and think borderlands is just the best?

5 RepliesI just started a Gunzerker to play until ROI releases. Trying to finish at least TVHM.

2 RepliesGearbox messed up wasting time on Battleborn. They should've focused on Borderlands 3.

Hell, Destiny is so stale to me, Overwatch has taken its place.. And Overwatch is multiplayer only, with little content(there will be new maps, characters and game modes added for free)

Shit yea dude, me and my mate are gonna do the same. Keen to play a mechromancer

1 ReplyAs far as shoot 'n loot, Borderlands is still the golden standard by a mile. I'm actually playing through #2 with my daughter for the 2nd time and I forgot how damn funny the game is. I will say the "gunplay" mechanics feel old and clunky. My only knock on the game, other than having to beat it 3 full times to reach level cap, then go into OP levels. If they can shore up a few small things like that with BL3, it might be the perfect game imo. It's already so far ahead of games like Destiny that it's laughable, but still room for improvement.

3 RepliesWas playing yesterday and got a hellfire from a hardball bullymong.

1 ReplyBL2 is my all time favorite game and call me biased but it is one of the best games out there. Not many games compare to it and that includes this new Gen of consoles we have.

Edited by What I Look Like: 8/4/2016 2:08:56 PMI mean.. I can't really love it anymore. I played it before all the DLC dropped on my 360, and subsequently got every single DLC. From the original level cap of 50 (having a great set of gear) to the first 11 level increase (TVHM), regrinding for the same exact set was no issue at this point. The 11 extra skill points were welcome! I could definitely squeeze out some extra carnage in my skill trees with that! And I did. It was incredible. Increase to 72 after that was only a thing due to the accompanying DLC and small campaign wave. There was more content to hit up, so that meant the extra 72 levels (and the real annoying part, having to re-regrind for the SAME gear again) could only be slightly irritating. The massive freedom and flashy gunplay are amazing. The two level cap increases felt more like stutters in the game to me, though. And then they dropped OP 8? So that's basically a concentrated grind per level... Yeah. I stopped when OP 8 came out lol. Like, entirely stopped. I beat all the raid bosses countless times with randoms in the lobby, I ripped every new gun and item otherwise from all the DLC.. mostly if I remember correctly. I had a blast along the way, and the OP 8 thing definitely came later in the game's life. Between the start and end I was there, paving the streets with blood. It was gory. It was excellent.
Just wish they didn't chop it up
well, they're two similar but different games, it's not easy to compare the two. they're both shooters with loot, but other than that they have different focuses. destiny is more catered toward experiencing something epic and meeting new people while doing so, and borderlands is literal gun porn. it's kinda like comparing battleborn and overwatch, they're both hero shooters but that's about where the similarities stop.

Borderlands was good, 2 felt... hollow to me, Pre--Sequel, I haven't played much of.

I just don't care for borderlands.

Yep butbmy biggest problem with borderlands is that there are so many useless guns

Yup, my first time through Borderlands 2 was awesome. Can't wait for 3, hopefully it's a true open world this time around.
