I think it's the frequency of mistakes that is irking people. Not so much just one event cancelled. You must admit and acknowledge their history over the last 18 months.
And no, a software devs job is not as complex as the one i do and i believe the pressure is equal as well.
Failure happens in highly complex trades. After a certain time, as the CEO/President, you would need to reevaluate your talent and make sure that the lead devs are doing their job properly.
Everything comes from the top down.
I'm personally not all bent out of shape over this but i can understand everyone's frustration.

My field is incredibly niche. I'm always leary to say. Involves electronics and xray/mammo/ct....diagnostic imaging. There's never more than 12,000 at any time in the US and far fewer that are "field engineers",as i am. It's.......man, it is high pressure. Been at it 10 years.

Sounds interesting. I'm a software developer but would never want to work in game development...

My cousin is/ was a lead arty treyarch. Made a TON of money, lives out west and all that and boy, you aren't kidding. I wouldn't trade him. No, it's a pressure cooker environment. The thing that separates what i do and a devs job is simply in my case, I'm out there alone. No Tech support, often no one to even bounce ideas off of. I know the have a lot of stress. But, it's a trade off r right? We get a lot of money and lose our hair really fast hahaha. Have a good one, friend
