The fricking Jolly Holiday quest
I have been playing destiny for quite a while since year one. I think myself a pretty good player. I think I suck worse than a level one now. I have been trying trying and trying to get past the first step of the Jolly Holiday quest for 3 weeks. Does anyone know how to do it? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!😡😭😡😭😡😭

3 RepliesHINT: you don't have to USE it, you just have to have it equipped. When you pick up heavy, equip it. Get 5-7 heavy kills. Unequip it. Also, I forget exactly, but you get points for kills AND for winning. (10pts for win??). If the match is almost over and your team is clearly gonna win, equip it.

This quest is really difficult when you can't even get TLW to drop for you... I have almost every other year two exotic :(

When I did it I thought I was really bad but I somehow managed to channel my inner tryhard and get like a 1.5kd for the whole thing

I just gave up. I had it up to 37% during IB but then lost a couple of rounds and it went back to 2%

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. Recently I found myself not having as much fun as I have had with Destiny. I'm taking a break for a little bit to play some Rocket League. The break isn't permanent by any means.

Dude I feel bad for you man. I HATED that Chaperone quest line. The first step anyway. But I figured out the SRL cheese. If the ever bring back SRL and if you sill haven't done the quest yet, just equip TLW and do races. Get +3% for every race

Hang out in the back of a rift game and snipe. Im not that good at pvp but by doing that i finished up in about 3 games.

Make a post looking for someone at same step. Boost from each other. Im horrible at pvp and i did this.

For me, the rift game type worked amazing for this. I am god awful at pvp, but doing it in rift I got it done in about 2-3 hours.

2 RepliesCamp. Camp camp camp. Post up with a shotgun. Preferably invective. Wait near heavy spawns. Use MG. Go wreck with super. Rinse, repeat.

Equip it when you have heavy and super up. I did the quest with my storm caller and a machine gun and if you get a merciless it jumps by a huge percentage.

I'm pretty decent and I dedicated a weekend or two trying to get it and I couldn't. I camped like I've never camped but it just didn't work out.

Play so defensive that it makes u sick, and use a sniper at least and just hang back behind ur teammates. I wasn't getting anywhere with my usual playstyle

Just be careful about picking your engagements. Try to lure opponents into tight, close, 1v1 encounters then down them. The Last Word excels in those kinde of engagements so play to its strength. Play defensively, make sure you stick close to teammates to make teamshots easier and rack up assists and kill steals. This also helps you kill enemy players more easily, as it's a lot easier to shoot someone when they're not shooting you. If you run into more than one enemy player and you're all alone, run until you find your teammates then teamshot the enemy players. Remember, you're awarded [i]way[/i] more points for killstreaks, so stay alive at all costs. If you want a better guide to extending kill streaks, check out True Vanguard's Guide to Long Killstreaks (linked below and in post). His explanation is much more thorough and more clear than mine https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=W-SzMlcLBP8 You can also try waiting until you have your super/heavy ammo to equip the Last Word, then use said super or Heavy Ammo to get a few kills, then unequip the Last Word to prevent your score from going down. I did mine in 3v3 daily playlists, as I found it was easier to set up 1v1 encounters with fewer players on the map, but that's just me. Hope this helps!

Beg for SRL to come back Learn the ways of TLW. Love that gun, but because of the constant nerfs to it I've been looking into other weapons

1) If you have a strong (above 1k/d) game, equip it before the timer runs out. You will get points equivalent to as if you used it the whole time. 2) Don't stress getting it super fast, it just takes a little time. Have fun in PvP.
