Thorn was a great weapon in PVE in year 1. But it was overused and abused in PVP because of the DoT. It was left in year one for this reason and has been nerfed so hard it's less than useless in PVE, even in year 1 content. I don't know about you, but I worked very hard for the gun doing that exotic quest when I sucked in PVP.
