Move your router if you have to. The difference is like night and day. For some reason Destiny is very sensitive to using wifi... I went from red barring every match with 15 download 5 upload speeds to perfect green bar and zero lag every single round... I cannot express how much of a difference it is. If you are having issues with red barring, switch to hard wired now.

I went to hardware on my Xbox one and had more issues then you can think of with Destiny. Went back to wifi and its normal. I don't think it will be hard wired again.

3 RepliesI've been wired for years. Still red bar. It's not us, it's them.
-
3 RepliesI wire my system and red bar. Wifi green bar. Soooooo

But the toenails; paint them

1 ReplyI still red bar in 6v6 when I'm wired AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA :(

I had to after countless error codes while on wifi. After plugging into the router I haven't had an error code.

My connection speed doesn't change if I use a cable or wifi. I seem to be further behind with a cable, jumped in a vortex grenade to see if it was friendly or not, didn't start taking damage for 1 second. That was with a cable

People who wifi don't know the beauty of blue wires and how it can be the focal point of a rather drab room. I'm with you, brother.

Sounds like your ISP is just garbage.

1 ReplyI play on my phones 3G hotspot.

5 RepliesMy router sits 5 feet from my PS4 and it works great. I get a great connection and have no need for a LAN. Even though you are probably addressing the people who have their routers all the way across their house/apartment, I just hope you understand that a close proximity also works great. I can get 45 down and 40 up on good days and my connection is microscopically diminished by the range. So basically, LAN or a close proximity is the way to go.

Until Destiny The Ethernet Cable Edition comes out, I'll stick to wifi and red bar
-
I can completely confirm this I was disconnecting frequently then I switched to a hard wire and the difference is amazing

2 RepliesFunny thing is when I used WiFi (back before December's server updates) I had 15 down and 4 up. *Never had red bars *Rarely if ever got error codes. *Barely any lag whatsoever. In late December I switched to LAN with 26 down and 4 up. Most times it's good, but every other time, *Red bars *Raid lags like hell *crucible is utter chaos *contacting Destiny servers Mind you these errors and lag almost never occurred when I had WiFi. I'm like.... Dafaq?

Or get a gaming-optimized router. With 5GHz channels , and put it close to your gaming console. Lower frequencies are often crowded with lots of other wireless traffic....and depending where you live, you may get interference from neighbor's wifi.
-
I use WiFi, but it'd on 5.0GHz. No lag for me.

PresidenteBushSee you on Tau Ceti IV - old
Or you'll get uploaded to the cloud like in Doctor Who and you may die -
There's probably too much noise with your wireless which is causing you to red bar.
