Move your router if you have to. The difference is like night and day. For some reason Destiny is very sensitive to using wifi... I went from red barring every match with 15 download 5 upload speeds to perfect green bar and zero lag every single round... I cannot express how much of a difference it is. If you are having issues with red barring, switch to hard wired now.

Ethernet solves all connection problems most of the time.

We need to stop altering our gear for Bungie, and force them to alter their gear. I'm sick and tired of being the one spending money, as if I have the 500 million dollar budget

1 ReplyYes if you use wifi you run the risk of a bad connection, but having a router running on a separate channel from the rest of the neighborhood as well as tweaking a few other setings you can drastically improve your wifi experience. Hard wire isn't always an option for everyone.
-
Yeeea, the ethernet port on my xbox is broken sooo it's either wifi or nothing. I still have great connection though.
-
Your not my real dad, stop telling me what to do
-
I personally wouldn't go to all the trouble of running all that wire just for Destiny. I mean, it's a project I plan to do this summer around my house anyway but not just for a time waster like this game.
-
I think the problem is if you are on the 2.4 GHz band. That spectrum is super crowded (even with 12 channels to pick from), especially in apartment complexes. 5 GHz is less crowded but it's going to start being an issue.
-
I was thinking about getting 20ft long Ethernet cable, but now that someone told me that Wifi will always cause connection problems, I'll save the money for more emotes.
5GHz works great. I've had 0 issues, I'm always a green bar.
My router is near XB1-1. If I'm playing on XB1-2 it's connected to WIFI and I REALLY don't care. Works perfectly fine.
