Hard scoping isn't skill
Hard scoping a doorway at head level isn't skill. It's just as bad as camping corners with shotguns. Taking quick precision shots is skill.
Edit:So much hate, guess I'm calling people out lol and I'm not salty btw. This is a PSA
Edit 2:Do not compare sniping in Destiny vs sniping in real life. You can't even lay down in Destiny lol plus future, aliens, space magic
Edit 3: As long as everyone is aware hard scoping a doorway waiting for people to run by is dirty and not skill. I'm ok with people doing it.
Edit 4: So much hate. Y'all must think it's either hard scope or quick scope. No you can scope in, but waiting 5+ seconds at head level for someone to walk In from their spawn. That's hard scope and dirty.

Opp doesnt know what map control is. If someone is hard scoping a lane it means he is trying to get map control on that lane. The maps are diverse enough to counter that. You must be a Shotgun noob who doesnt know how to do that.

I've gotten a lot better at sniping recently and I've found that standing still for more than 3 seconds or so is a great way to die. So lately I've been using my sniper for 3 reasons and that's it: 1. I saw someone sniping and plan to counter them from distance 2. Some has popped a mobile super and I want to take them out before they kill half or more of my team 3. Heavy ammo is spawning and I'm trying to control the heavy so the entire enemy team doesn't get it Other than that I try to use my primary or heavy weapon, though I will admit some choke points are too hard to resist if I see people doing the same dumb stuff.

If you think taking quick precision shots are skill try it without aim assist, hell try it without a scope

4 RepliesCan't compare sniping in destiny to real life? Why the hell not? Many weapons in video games work just like they do in real life. You trying to so casually toss aside this argument only shows how little proof you have that your version of "real sniping" is legitimate. Look up the definition of snipe on Google and you will see this. Snipe: shoot at someone from a hiding place, especially accurately and at long range. So in conclusion your version of "sniping" is going around the map and using a high aim assist to fire your shots for you instead of staying still and lining up your shots. Its risk and reward numb nuts...as if it is not hard to flank them and kill them when they are a sitting duck. The first time you get sniped by a camper fair play, second time shame on you!!! ( I know that's not how the saying goes)
