So, I'm still hearing these claims that Arcblade was nerfed to oblivion.
I tried finding some patch notes about it, but found absolutely nothing. The only nerf that Bladedancer received was the Blink nerf, and the arcbolt Grenade nerf. But no nerf to the actual super.
Think about it: The reason people thought Arcblade was over powered was because it was the only roaming super in year one, super quick and agile, and back then no one really knew how to shut down a Bladedancer, not until house of wolves where a blast from a high impact shotgun(which were easy to obtain in this era) and a melee did the trick.
"You can't find any patch notes because they ninja nerfed it, idiot! They didn't want a backlash from the community."
They ninja nerfed it? Okay. Then why would they have patch notes for literally every other nerf? Even Sunbreaker, arguably the most controversial subclass to date, has it's own set of patch notes that I can link you to, easily. Gjallarhorn, Destiny's most sought out weapon ever, got nerfed. Which shows that Bungie certainly doesn't stealth nerf to avoid backlash, because if they did, we'd be missing a lot of patch notes.
HOWEVER!!!
Along with update 2.0, AKA the arrival of the taken king, Arcblade has been.. Funny. Hit detection is off, and it just feels awkward to use. I think that this is unintentional. Why would Bungie nerf bladedancers in 2.0 when more competitive subclassess were running around? Makes not a lick of sense.
So, my proposition is to keep spamming the forums and let the developers know that Arcblade is in need of a fix(while we're at it, fusion rifles as well). And maybe in the coming weeks, it will receive a class update similar to Titans.
Edit NUMBER ONE: Guys, I'm a beta and a day one. Been following every detail about this game since it was announced in 2013. There's nothing I'm not aware of. Anyway.
Arcblade never had an armor nerf. It's always had a 50% damage resistance.
Sunbreakers had a 55% damage resistance. The highest a super could achieve(besides radiant skin). Sunbreaker had a higher damage resistance than Arcblade ever had. My proof? Arcblade has always been able to be sniped out of their super. It was never able to tank a golden gun. Or a nova bomb. Sunbreaker could do all of this.
The ONLY thing wrong with Bladedancer is the hit detection. If they fix hit detection, it will be returned to its former self. It will be a reliable super again

We should just nerf everything in Destiny!
lolno
There was definitely a ninja nerf in the 2.0 update. Quick Draw appeared to be nerfed along with Arc Blade's accuracy. These were noticeable changes at the time to any Bladedancer main. Maybe there will be a ninja buff soon.
-
If anything. That entire subclass needs some sort of rework/buff. Maybe make the blink strike have a new talent called "bleeding out" that will give you a 30% damage buff to enemies.

21 RepliesThe Voidfang vestments ability to respawn with double grenades was nerfed to where only one grenade is available after respawn. Never saw a single note on it and I challenge everyone to look it up where they said they were going to do that. I just find this example as a justification that they do actually ninja Nerf things.
-
I'm pretty sure it has received an official nerf just not since launch. Pretty sure it received an official nerf from beta to lunch. I get that it's not really the point but im Just saying

(they just broke collision in the air. Same with swords and shoulder charge)

3 RepliesEdited by PUFFERBILLY: 12/25/2015 10:49:39 PMThey don't tell people about nerfs. The shot gun on my Titan proves it. Last resort was never said to be on shotguns. And my shotgun never had shot package. It had who's next.
-
QuickDraw was also nerfed in the most recent update. It wasn't stated in the patch notes. It was also a lot stronger in vanilla destiny. The proof is in the experience throughout year 1. If they stealth nerfed some things, what makes you think they didn't stealth nerf other things?

Hit detection not detected.
-
Bump.

3 RepliesI main a Titan, I only made a Hunter a few months ago and I've barely used it (only recently bought TTK), and I'll say again: Bladedancer is underpowered. I've never even used it in Crucible, but it's easy to counter, hit detection is obviously flawed because I can shotgun them down when they're a metre away and right in my face. I think the best buff would be to improve the armour and hit detection slightly, and massively boost movement speed with Bladedancer active, making it better in PVE.

Their freaking SANICS

Sorry for a second post, but I want this to be something everyone sees. I've been here since the very beginning. I know full well that bladedancer has never been intentionally nerfed (bad hit detection doesn't count as intentional). Fighting it has been, still is, and will likely always be, the same.
-
I think it was some dumb early patch, either prerelease or in the first month. Won't stop people from acting like victims of some horrible crime...
-
4 RepliesI use to get kicks out of nova bombing blade dancers back when Destiny launched in used to love watching those mother-blam!-ers go down!
-
Blink and Arc bolt was all the Arcbalde ever had to make the subclass good, along with QuickDraw. Now Arc bolt and Blink are average (espesially arc bolt, it doesn't even take down shield in one hit now) QuickDraw is all Blade dancer has. It didn't receive a nerf, just the main selling points did. Now ArcBlade appears useless.

And ill say this again!!!!!
this
Arc Blade is seriously underpowered
-
8 RepliesSeriously, they really did reduce its damage reduction. At release, it had the armor that hammer of sol had. Then after a patch, it became much easier to kill. Not making this up. It was deserved, but the nerf to damage resistance happened.
-
I agree with the bladedancer hit detection issue. I'm using twice as many slashes due to the first one just pushing my enemy. I would definitely like to see this fixed. I want to say that "ninja nerfs" do happen, but I think it may just be poorly translated code when these adjustments are added. (As well as poor communication from the developers side.) And as for the health boost for bladedancer, I've not noticed any difference. When playing as one, or when going against one.
-
4 RepliesHealth got nerfed to hell, used to take ALOT more to kill a blade dancer
-
Bump. Sick of wasting my super on missed hits
-
All I'm gonna say is the yo is still a bitch to deal with. I'll hit the same guy for my whole super and he'll still walk away or one shot me with a shotgun as im knifing him.
-
1 ReplyYou obviously never consistently played a bladedancer.
