I will say this again: Arcblade has never received an OFFICIAL nerf.
So, I'm still hearing these claims that Arcblade was nerfed to oblivion.
I tried finding some patch notes about it, but found absolutely nothing. The only nerf that Bladedancer received was the Blink nerf, and the arcbolt Grenade nerf. But no nerf to the actual super.
Think about it: The reason people thought Arcblade was over powered was because it was the only roaming super in year one, super quick and agile, and back then no one really knew how to shut down a Bladedancer, not until house of wolves where a blast from a high impact shotgun(which were easy to obtain in this era) and a melee did the trick.

They ninja nerfed it? Okay. Then why would they have patch notes for literally every other nerf? Even Sunbreaker, arguably the most controversial subclass to date, has it's own set of patch notes that I can link you to, easily. Gjallarhorn, Destiny's most sought out weapon [i]ever[/i], got nerfed. Which shows that Bungie certainly doesn't stealth nerf to avoid backlash, because if they did, we'd be missing a lot of patch notes.

Along with update 2.0, AKA the arrival of the taken king, Arcblade has been.. Funny. Hit detection is off, and it just feels awkward to use. I think that this is unintentional. Why would Bungie nerf bladedancers in 2.0 when more competitive subclassess were running around? Makes not a lick of sense.
So, my proposition is to keep spamming the forums and let the developers know that Arcblade is in need of a fix(while we're at it, fusion rifles as well). And maybe in the coming weeks, it will receive a class update similar to Titans.
Edit NUMBER ONE: Guys, I'm a beta and a day one. Been following every detail about this game since it was announced in 2013. There's nothing I'm not aware of. Anyway.
Arcblade never had an armor nerf. It's always had a 50% damage resistance.
Sunbreakers had a 55% damage resistance. The highest a super could achieve(besides radiant skin). Sunbreaker had a higher damage resistance than Arcblade [i]ever[/i] had. My proof? Arcblade has always been able to be sniped out of their super. It was never able to tank a golden gun. Or a nova bomb. Sunbreaker could do [i]all[/i] of this.
The [b][i][u]ONLY[/u][/i][/b] thing wrong with Bladedancer is the hit detection. If they fix hit detection, it will be returned to its former self. It will be a reliable super again

While I am subject to attacking relentlessly with this super(i havent played since March ish) I have not one clue as to how bad it has gotten since I played during its peak of imperial power. Anyways to answer your post, I honestly dont understand why Bungie keeps nerfing and buffing and nerfing and buffing...its ridiculous now, every day i come to these forums looking at nerf posts everywhere because some kid or adult is pissed off that they get killed by soemone who either has an op weapon or actually knows how to use it unlike them. FOr supers here's the solution....if Sunbreakers are soo op then make a titan, if hunters are soo op make a hunter, if warlocks have an op armour piece then make a warlcok for christ sake. Supers houdl never be banned and as for weapons leave them be, i know the nerf forces us to use more weapons and all but in the end what does it do? Bungie pls buff again...my point is just enjoy the game and stop complaining about its content

In the early days of Destiny I was literally a tank with Arc-blade. I survived things that should have killed me like they were nothing.

3 RepliesLook, it's true. If you take into account that we're looking at OFFICIAL terms, then the OP is correct. There are no patch notes, there is nothing said by Bungie. But we can say that they have ninja nerfed it. I mean, I remember being unstoppable.

3 RepliesShow me a YouTube video of a BD tanking a sniper headshot and I will believe they "ninja nerfed" it. The only thing wrong with BD is the hit detection. If you can't provide a video of a BD tanking either a sniper headshot or a gg shot don't bother commenting that armor was nerfed.

1 ReplyShow me a list of all patch notes since 1.01 and I'll believe you over the 10 months I mained Hunter in Year One. (I played all classes from Day 1 and switched to maining Titan February and Warlock April) I'll believe that the effective height of the groundwave didn't get a minor adjustment making it easier for people to short hop over it and not die, especially defender titans(because the wave still ran through their bubble)I'll believe that hit detection didn't start requiring me to use twice the super energy to confirm a kill in January, which I shrugged off then as no big deal. I'll believe that each swing didn't start using a little more of the energy bar up than at launch which again, fair enough at the time. You post me that list and I'll believe you that nothing ever got adjusted on the super directly. I saw your previous post and am appreciative of the fact you at least admit hit detection has become a much worse issue (frankly across the board for all melee attacks in the game). First nerf bladedancer got was armor reduction nerf while in super. Sadly noobs like you will never experience how op bladedancer used to be. They were unkillable. 40 RepliesDon't waste your breath it doesn't fit into the narrative a lot of hunters are spewing of how weak their Arc Blade damage resistance has become. They so badly want their own sun breaker nerf tears to be justified that they are misleading newer guardians into thinking titans actually cried and got Arc Blade nerfed. Arc Blade the super itself was never nerfed, what happened is that the felwinters lie archetype of shotgun was introduced. After that everyone started realizing how a well timed shotgun melee could kill them. The only reason they are somewhat weak now is melee hit detection seems to be bugged across the board on all subclasses.

I'd never seen a nerf in the news, either. Also a beta player. It bugged me initially, but when I grew used to shotgunning it or outrunning the spammers, it was pretty f*ing easy to deal with. Except when it pushed me out of my bubble to die from collision.

People forget that, right around the time Bladedancer was 'nerfed', very high impact weapons became more popular.

They also keep saying things like "titans whined about bd all through y1." No they did not. [u]Show us the evidence[/u]. That is bs, and it is said either out of ignorance/mimicking what they heard, or it is due to the hope that people will forget all their nerf crying. Sad thing is that 99% of hunters are good, honest, no whine people. The others make them look bad.

Mained BD Y1, have switched back and forth between the Gunslinger class, and I'll just leave my two cents, it's slower, clunkier, and overall, too unbearable to use anymore.

Hit detection is a huge problem in all contact weapons/melee's. Bladedancer is the most noticeable.

If you ever played blade dancer in year 1 you would know they nerfed it in 2.0 patch notes or not it got nerfed. The duration is half of what it was and each slash uses more energy.
