Before we begin.
I main a warlock (look at playtime for proof), I deleted my titan and made a second hunter because I was missing a lot of hunter gear.
(Had all titan gear, still do)
Will make another titan once I'm 320
if this is a problem then please just leave
Let me start out with you titans.
Sunbreakers were extremely op, they broke all the rules of a mobile super.
They had golden gun range (with more shots, blade dancers health regen, warlocks super duration, and stupidly high armor buff.
They also had tracking proximity hammer and the ability to survive a high impact sniper and golden gun shot (a super that trades armor buff for raw damage)
On top of that you can move just as fast as blink with better control active.
If you think that this was OK to have on 1 character than that right there is a problem.
And it was not just hunters wanting this nerf, it was hunter, warlocks, and smart titans.
The only players that tried to defend this super were players that barely excel in pvp.
Even Luke Smith himself pointed out that the he was excelling a bit too much with this super.
So are hunters truly to blame?
And wait just a minute?
Who was the class that constantly complained about blink, leading to a nerf?
It couldn't be warlocks.
And I also believe that hunters received a blade dancer nerf way before sunbreakers did.
And sunsingers received a nerf before destiny could even see 2015.
So why is it that you titans are making such a big fuss? You don't see warlocks and hunters bitching about their past nerfs.
And what's funny is you titans are crying so much that you failed to see that your other 2 subclasses recently received a buff. Hunters and warlocks haven't gotten this at all.
And to top this off you guys are receiving the best year 2 gear.
And you get a jump maneuver that can be used on all 3 of your subclasses.
So why the salt?
Why blame hunters?
When it was going to happen anyway?
As for weapons.
There shouldn't be a single weapon meta.
You want to avoid weapon nerfs?
Stop constantly trying to cling to the new overpowered weapon.
Shotguns were annoying.
Pulse rifles dominated everything.
Pick one weapon you enjoy, and stick with it.
I guarantee you will still excel in pvp.
Hunters are not to blame.
Nor warlocks or titans.
Bungie records data, they then use said data to determine what needs adjusting.
So please you players that feel the need to blame hunters.
Do the forums a favor and swallow a chill pill.
We should be working together to give bungie better ideas on content.
Or attempting to get rid of the players that constantly bash the game we love on our own forums.
shanks for reading kind xurs:)
Edited by TacTheScribbler: 12/14/2015 6:32:40 PMI main a Titan and I was calling for a Sunbreaker "nerf" from the beginning. I'm also incredibly grateful that Bungie buffed Strikers and Defenders alongside those changes. I mained a Striker for most of Year 1 and was very disappointed when I had to give up my very tactical/strategic super just to use the only one that could effectively counter a Sunbreaker. Admittedly, though, I've noticed a sharp increase in how often I get shut down while performing a Fist of Havoc. Not sure if Unstoppable is functioning correctly or if the weapons got better (maybe I got worse! *gasp*), but I've been getting killed mid-leap a lot since the update. EDIT: I still get plenty of kills with Hammer of Sol. It requires a little skill to aim the hammers, but it's very doable.

*crippled old sunbreaker titan gets up* Ye....yeah...yo...you're right... *stumbles and almost falls* We...shouldn't...blame...ev...everything on...on you. *activates nerfed sunbreaker* We are still pretty powerful, we just need this life support system to be active at all times that's all... *tries to throw hammer* *hammer drops link a pin* 😔😔😔

Ok, ok we can all admit that the sunbreaker needed a little but of a nerf. This coming from someone who doesn't want to do the other bounties regarding other subclasses because I don't want to take off the sunbreaker. But that being said we were (and kind of still are) a little OP in PvP. So yeah I for one agree with the patch. I also wanna bring up though that we never glitched our way through pvp, hunters, so you can't blame us too much for whining.

Let me say this yes the titan sunbreaker needed to be adjusted now do I believe it was done correctly no. You see what Bungie did was make everything about the sunbreaker revolve around hammer of sol and that's where the problems are. The nightstalker subclass for instance has a lot of useful perks in their tree that make them a deadly in the right hands like smokebomb, shadestep, and quiver so you can tell that a lot of time and effort went into that subclass. Sunbreakers on the other hand well our most useful and efficient perks work with our super cauterize being the most useful in pvp. Then you have the other perks like sunspots and firekeeper which are great but in my opinion more suited for pve. Next we have suncharge which no one ever talks about for a reason, but I find myself using this a lot more these days because I can catch people of guard and close the gap between me and them. Unfortunately for suncharge it drains your super meter so quick and then sometimes you hit people with it and it knocks them back and they take no damage. So that move definitely needs to be looked at and fixed but i'm sure that won't happen anytime soon. In my opinion they should've either left cauterize the way it was and reduce the damage resistance on sunbreakers, or leave the damage resistance and nerf cauterize but never both. The thing with cauterize if the titan is being constantly hit cauterize won't work it just requires teamwork. As for taking a golden gun shot it left them with a inch of health all someone has to do is fart on them and they're done .All in all though they did need some adjustments bungie could've did a better job with the subclass it became boring quick and far to easy to use. Just wish there were other options to choose from in that subclass and suncharge could be that but if needs to be fixed or maybe given an exotic like mask of the third man.

What the hell are you talking about?
Stop constantly trying to cling to the new overpowered weapon.
You are completely right on this point (the rest... well, lets just say as a Warlock, I differ with some of your points) however, what you have here is the crux of a "meta". Many players currently playing will (as I do) watch the occasional video on youtube, or maybe even watch a twitch stream or two ( I don't) and many of the GOOD pvp'ers will look at the current spread of weapons and comment that a particular weapon has a fast TTK or is powerful (sometimes caveated with "in the right hands"). But this gives creedence to the "meta", they play well, using weapons which you have acknowledge are overpowered. So the "community" observer this and take the general stance, "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" and so the meta grows. I enjoy scout rifles, auto's and handcannons in the Crucible way more than I do using a pulse rifle because I prefer those styles of play but this placed (until recently) me against the meta and I think in general my crucible performances suffered, not that I'm great to start with. But seeing this shift, many other players will use the current OP weapon options or combinations, they feel it will improve their game or at the very least, mitigate the "apparent" disadvantages of not using said OP option. There shouldn't be a single weapon meta (currently it's shifting to sniper rifles) but to achieve this, well there's going to have to be more tuning patches to establish the proper role and engagement profiles for all the weapons. I know you're asking for people to abandon the bandwagon and play what feels right, people tend to resist such options, if they think they are missing an advantage. That and Bungie keep throwing meta enforcing weapons at us. Example, Pulse Rifles in the ascendancy after year 2.. first Iron Banana, they give out Nirwens Mercy with a set of perks people previously spent hundreds of weapon parts trying to attain by reforging... It's not just the community that need to think about weapon balance and avoiding it, it's also Bungie. Maybe it's time shotguns couldn;t get rangefinder (same for handcannons, since my Trials HC has got rangefinder and bracedframe......), I'm sure there are more I could think of with a bit more thought.

11 RepliesSees OP say hammers had golden gun range...stopped reading. If you hit someone at the B side heavy on shores of time with a hammer from the c capture point they must have been unaware you were there or just dumb. The golden gun can cross map snipe with precision and no delay (hammers have travel time). Anyone who wants to argue can reply with their salt, but it is a fact that hammers did not and do not have golden gun range.

No bungle are if they made a balanced game nerfs wouldn't be needed.

Complainers are to blame for nerfs.

10 RepliesSunbreaker was the Titans only cool sub class. That's all this is about. The other classes have really cool supers. Hunters had GG (probably the most powerful pre Taken King), and Bladedancer. Two supers that lasted a while, could move, and could potentially kill quite a few people. Warlocks could come back from the friggin dead. Blink. And create three giant explosions. Titans had a bubble that got popped instantly, and a panic button worth one kill most of the time. They finally got a reason to play the class, because they finally got a cool one. No need to trash everyone when we can talk about this like logical human beings. It's not that hard to figure out if you just use your brains..

2 RepliesSorry to be that guy but, well here i go: I main a hunter and personally agree that Sunbreakers were very op, but it was nothing that could not be managed. I killed so many Sunbreakers with Bladedancer (probably because they sucked) and even more with GG. Also if anything any super that can cancel other supers is op. On a side note cancelling supers should be something only Nightstalkers can do. Having a grenade that does it is very op. (I'm looking at you bubble buddies) To conclude, I believe that the current super meta if you will, is as balanced as it might ever be. Sorry for the rant, now I have an essay to write.

No matter what you do you can't take my tlw away. The buff just made it better.
