I had a argument with my friends and he said, "If we can breathe on the tower why ca't we breathe on other planets?" We had a whole 2 hour debate on this and I want to prove him wrong. After I asked him how you would get Oxygen he responded with,"Just Breathe!" I don't think if you stick your head in a plastic bag you can just breathe right?
So I need your guys help Message G***t R*****5 he is wrong.
Edit: Also he said, "How can we breathe on The Reef if were on an asteroid?" I asked him how can we have lunar bases, he responded why can't we have that for a planet?

Its not the lack of oxygen that prevents breathing in space...

My IQ just lost 20 points.

Technically as guardians we're just reincarnated space zombies. I doubt we need to breathe at all.

Your friend is mentally impaired.

4 RepliesYou would explode as the sheer vaccum of space would make the air pressure too much for your body.

If by breathe, you mean take in oxygen and continue to survive, then no. You can breathe, you just won't get any oxygen and will die

7 RepliesWhat's space?

2 Repliesnow if you said outer space id say no, but all the area with in the atmosphere is still space and we can breathe there.

Ever consider that technology is really advanced in the game? There is an open port to space yet you can still breathe plus there is gravity on the queens ship. Oh and other planers like mars aren't similar to earth atmospheric wise. So you'd probably die from breathing in too much of the other planets' disproportionate gases (according to our standards).

it depends on ur definition of breathe. if u mean breathe as in intake oxygen as we do here then no if u mean breathe as in intake something into ur lungs, then also no because space is a vacuum meaning there is absolutely nothing in the "air" if u mean breathe on a gaseous planet then also yes cuz even tho ur intaking gas, it's not oxygen probably so you'd die

1 ReplyI dont think he know that the tower is on the fücking Earth

Other planets can have atmospheres and gasses so technically you can breathe but that doesn't mean there's oxygen and you will most likely die.

Edited by SCOTTYSWFJR: 12/15/2015 2:26:36 AMBreath, not particularly; survive for a short period of time, yes... For physiological reasons, yes you could survive in space without a space suit for a small period of time.
What ever the oxygen cycling rate of the human body is, I want to say it's like 10-15 seconds.
While being exposed at that altitude with such little air pressure, your blood would begin to boil, as you'd be above the altitude of Armstrong's Line (the altitude where water boils at 37 degrees C, or 98.6 degrees F) and you'd have painfully and deadly swelling on exposed flesh as a result. Tdlr; You can survive an extremely short period of time in space without a protective suit, like 10 seconds; but breathing isn't really possible as space has no atmosphere. Edit: Sorry, that triggered my memories of when we discussed that for 3 days in my Filght Physiology class... Edit 2: "Breathing" in space without an apparatus of some sort and maintaining air pressure on the body is not possible.

You can't breathe on the moon or in outer space because there's no atmosphere. You could technically breathe on other planets if there's an atmosphere but you'd die unless that atmosphere has enough oxygen to support life AND doesn't have any other gases mixed in that would kill you. For the purposes of the game, the reef would have to have some sort of atmospheric bubble to contain an atmosphere that can support life.

By breathe do you mean inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide or do you mean move the oxegyn to your blood stream and use it in your cells? 1st option is first on poll, 2nd is 3rd on poll
