Theres alot of idiots in this community when it comes to pronouncing gear names. Tlaloc is some how pronounced Ta-lay-loc by some assclowns. Where do you see a 'y' in Tlaloc? Are you -blam!-ing stupid? I wish i could remember some of the other mispronunciations :( There were a few that really irritated me.

  • According to Wikipedia and classical nahuatal language, it is tlay-lok. Long a. Egyptian deity. Just saying.

  • I thought Tlaloc was a Aztec god of thunder? Guess we learn something new every day.

  • It is. Given the flavor text of Tlaloc fits with the Aztec God of Thunder.

  • Your question should be, are you stupid? Remember way back when.... little a sounds like ahhh, big a sounds like ay. For example: crane, insane, detain, shame. Sounds suspiciously like there should be a Y in those words too.

Thats because of a combination that sounds like Y. 'La' does not sound like 'lay'. Ta-la-loc. The Aztec pronunciation doesn't make a Y sounds either... Tla-lok. Either way, no y sounds.

  • Well since I don't speak aztec and there isn't any in game example of someone using that word I think it's reasonable. After all, not every word that makes an ay sounds with an "a" has a y after. You don't spell able ayble. Shayme? Tayme? Frayme? Blayme? Baybe? Tayble? Just saying, before you go all hyper superiority complex, you should probably remember that not every person looks up proper pronunciation of every word and could come to the different conclusion on how to say it. Probably best to remember the complexities of the language that is being spoken before assuming someone else's stupidity.
