A 13 year old boy defended himself from a home invasion. His mother kept a loaded pistol in the house. Boy feared for his life and fired at the attackers fatally injuring one. He then followed the suspects and continued firing at their moving car before calling his mother and the police once he felt he was no longer in danger.
Thoughts? I can't imagine what could have happened to this boy if he wasn't armed.
Edit: the suspect that was killed had a long history of drug and violent crime.

I like reading stories like this because it means that more people might understand why gun rights are a good thing.

Edited by Lord Ocram: 12/4/2015 6:18:07 AMWow, it's weird how we have that last minute accuracy to fire away.

The boy must have been traumatised for the rest of his life. I do not doubt that the 13 year old had hesitation when firing the trigger. In his self defence though, he could of been taken or worse killed.

14 RepliesThe fact that he killed a guy is... OK, could've just shot him so he didn't die but ran away. The fact that the child could easily get to the gun is horrifying. Imagine a mentally ill child with the ability to do something like this. Insane.

Because you opened this. you will get kissed on Friday by the person you love or like. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life. Do not break this chain. You have 2 minutes this is not a fake...apparently. Forward this to 15 people in the next 15 minutes and you WILL have the best day of your life tomorrow. You're number one crush will either KISS, ask you out, or call you. If you break this chain, the little girl named Kaitlyn who died 2 years ago on a car crash will be in your room TONIGHT! Good luck <<3, and your time starts, right know No Cheatin

1 ReplyImagine if that household was a gun free zone. :^)

The kid did what he could. Deserves mad -blam!-ing respect for it too.

Damn what a badass

4 RepliesAnti gun laws are like putting cookies in a jar and telling a child they cannot have one, then walking out of the room waiting to find out what happens.

6 RepliesWouldn't have suggested that he chase them down the street but other than that he did the right thing

13 year old kills home invaders threatening his own safety and he now faces criminal charges. hypothetical situation 13 year old kills armed terrorist whom are US citizens on public property and would be considered a hero and face no charges. Now this is no longer on private property and all other aspects are still in play. What's the difference?

46 RepliesThe attackers were obviously unarmed What if I changed the view point to the following: I can't imagine what might have happened to the boy had the attackers been armed. The point of gun control is not to take away that boy's firearm, it's to make sure that whoever invades his house is unarmed. The fact that the attackers could have been armed makes it more disturbing, and frankly, makes the attackers dumbasses for not actually being armed.

The good guys win. (:

26 RepliesBut now that 13 year old kid is a murderer, (I know it was self defence but he's still killed someone at the age of 13) I'll just leave this here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1nAfWfF4TjM

Good kid. And the potential robber deserved it.

This is why you arm citizens. Good for him.

Edited by Toxic waffle: 11/19/2015 8:33:16 PMThat's me clutching a trials match.
seriously though it's kinda sad having to go through that trauma. I feel for the kid.
1 ReplyJust a question but since the kid fired first would that still be self defense?

This is why Call of Duty is good for you, kids

4 RepliesHow would someone get traumatized from something like this xD

38 RepliesEdited by Dolphinizer: 11/19/2015 8:29:42 PMWait isn't what the boy did illegal
He continued shooting at them as they drove away
At that point aren't they a non-threat making it illegal to shoot at them? Or am I wrong.
-
Good on him, I guess?

Good job on the kid for defending his rights A -blam!-ing + from me Bad job society for allowing your future to become so legally and mentally vulnerable. If he shot at the guys driving off, hes still in fight or flight response. He gets a pass, he doesnt know better, he should be taught better

8 RepliesEdited by Level 2 on Easy: 11/18/2015 5:27:33 PMHe did what is right, but the mental state afterwards needs to be taken into consideration. Either 1 of 2 options is going to happen. 1- He's going to be traumatized and regret what he did and realize, while he did the right thing, not to never ever kill an individual unless circumstances favor. 2- Its going to get to his head and think he's a badass, tell everyone, and have no problem in the future pulling a trigger. Hopefully his parents are working hard on his mental state and lead him in the right direction about gun saftey and the morals behind it.
