"Don't use Touch of malice, use a sniper!!"
Can people (mainly from LFG) stop demanding that snipers are the only viable option for Warpriest!!!
I have some good snipers and could use them if I wished, but I don't, why because TOM is far better! You just have to know how to use it.
The other night I was with an awesome team from LFG, we all had TOM, dropped a blessing and weapons each time and Melted the Warpriest in two rounds.
Even if everyone doesn't run with the touch and chooses to use Spindle/1000 yd etc, the touch is still a very credible option.
Maybe it's because people are just used to just holding the trigger down on daughters/Oryx and haven't practiced "getting good" in other encounters?
What's everyone else's thoughts on the Touch of Malices use, in encounters other than the end of Kings Fall?

You can drop him in 2 rounds far more safely using Spindle. ToM works in the absolute ideal circumstances, but even then Spindle is better.

1 ReplyThe ToM with Blessing strategy is more than viable, but using black spindle does that slightly more damage overall. Plus using the black spindle has a better chance of staggering him and there's no risk on accidentally dying from going to crazy on the trigger or a random shot from the warpriest and adds Another very good tatic is to use the No Time to Explain and defiance of yasmin combo. Start with the yasmin empty the round then crack on with No Time until you run out of bullets then back to yasmin. heard it works pretty well as long as you are hitting headshot with no time

Yes snipers are good but personally I pop weapons use TOM until low on health, shoot four defiance of Yasmin shots, unload a mag of Quillam's Terminus, and repeat. I have cocoon of all my raid gear, for you haters who don't know how to use it, it doesn't suck. I normally get 2-3 rotations in before Occulus and I average over 30,000 Damage per tablet, glyph pattern, DPS round, whatever. This does do massive damage and it allows others to choose whatever they like, No Time to Explain, Black Spindle, TOM, ect and use whatever super they'd like. And if there's at least one sniper then you keep WP off of you and stun locked, so he can't shoot back. Your right, TOM [b]is[/b] better if you know how to use it. Btw same for Gorgoroth.

I like black spindle because I can do 500,000+ in total damage to him so yea.

1 ReplyEdited by Afawafa: 11/12/2015 1:09:31 PMBlack Spindle deals ~7.3x more damage than ToM per headshot, while ToM fires at 257 RPM and Spindle fires at 60 RPM. So, Black Spindle deals about 1.7x the dps of ToM as long as you're hitting every precision shot and firing at max RoF, which shouldn't be incredibly difficult while warpriest is staggered. ToM's total damage output catches up if you have an aura holder who holds it for a near perfect duration, but that's not taking into account the damage output of the next weapon you swap to after Spindle rums out of ammo.

There's a bit too much unnecessary risk with it. With it eating your health, if he gets off a lucky shot it could cause a wipe. You can down him in 2 rounds with snipers to. With LFG you're probably not gonna be dealing with the best raiders, or they'd probably have a weekly group already. It just ends up being an unnecessary risk.

Using Spindles, Weapons of light & tethers my group was almost able to kill him in 1 rotation. We got his health down to the "W" in his name.

Im going to be a bit different and say jade rabbit its is boss if you use correctly with the body shots to head shots. I was in a group with just 4 and we did with 2 rounds im pretty sure the other 2 used the vanguard sniper.
