Let's play: "WHAT GAME IS COD PRETENDING TO BE THIS YEAR?!"
Every year cod rips off a different game or takes its elements to add it's own spin. Ironically, the cod fan base will always deny this fact.

6 RepliesThe similarities of both games is striking. Dont want to say COD necessarily copied off Destiny, since uh, you know, Black Ops 3 has been in development at the same time as Destiny! But the supers are very similar. Gravity Spikes- Fist of Havoc Ripper- Bladedancer Rejack- Radiance Shadowshot (i think)-Nightstalker Annihilator- Golden Gun I cant think of any more, but even the buttons to activate are the same!

The others that you mentioned came after...so which franchises are copying who? Halo is the only one that was in that timeframe of original CoD because it was strictly an Xbox game and had no other competition. Cod AND Halo really started it all..... Edit: ok read and only look at the first sentence. Some honorable mentions are in play if they were before COD. but 'Online FPS multiplayer shooter'. My intent was to say as successful as CoD. The only other game in that timeframe really on that level was Halo(which I did say say was equally and impactful as CoD). I really don't care if you're a fanboy of Destiny or any of the others. FPS online multiplayer shooter was cornered and built on the legacy of CoD and Halo and their impact, everything else that came after (especially with an online pvp element) has an element that was taken from the basis of CoD and Halo the most successful FPS online multiplayer shooters. Not single player, not 3rd person shooter, strictly 'online, first person multiplayer shooter, '. True, you can mention the PC games in the 90s but they were not as impactful in that it wasn't as far reaching at that time, online gaming was not what it was until the early 2000s with the mass production of Playstation and Xbox so they get honorable mention. As many have proven I was wrong in the statement as CoD and Halo being the first, but my intent was to state how impactful and large CoD & Halo are compared to any before and any after which is what I meant by 'original' that everyone was playing.

I hate cod and Activision as much as the next guy but they have never really ripped anything from other games. They are just there own original shithole of a game series.
